      It is the work of skincare brand owners. They are always afraid of competition when someone kind like you is showing the whole world how to make lotion.

      1: At what point do you add in your powders (carrot, moringa e.t.c) and glycerin 2: can I use a hand mixer if I’ve not got a stick blender?

    • @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
      @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ninahart7879 these would be considered your cool down ingredients and you would add them in with the preservative once your lotion has reached around 100 degrees F. I have never tried a hand mixer but I bet it would work fine.

    This is basically the same as my lotion receipe, I use Sunflower oil instead of Almond though, just in case my customers might be allergic. My lotion is one of my best sellers 😊
    Just a tip to new makers, I pipe my lotion into my bottles when it's completely cold, that way I don't get any condensation forming 😊

    I have watched this video several times, I never looked at the likes and dislikes. I’m shocked there are any dislikes. Your videos are the best, and I’ve watched a lot of them. I keep coming back to you. You’re clean, easy to follow, you explain the process and benefits. And anyone worth spit, should appreciate this is your work, time and effort and be willing, even happy to pay you for your work.

Some people didn’t like that I used water in this recipe, etc. i actually have never disliked any video ever! If I don’t like something or disagree with it, I stop watching.

    This is my absolute FAVORITE recipe!!!! When I was a Patreon Subscriber (I will be again I had to make some financial cut backs) I found ALL of your recipes to be some of the best out there!!! This body butter is PERFECT every single time! I was curious, I actually had a customer say it was "too thick" which shocked me! Especially during our cold winters here in Michigan! That is my favorite part of this body butter! Is there a way to safely thin down an 8 oz jar for a customer without jeopardizing the product? Thank you in advance! Again, a great recipe!!!!

    This was a very informative video, thank you for sharing! I love making my own lotion, and it's one if my best sellers. My only issue, and I've mostly embraced it at this point, is I must be getting air bubbles in my final product. It creates a mousse like, foamy consistency on the top layer of my container. Do I just keep embracing it, or is there a fix? Thanks!

    • @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
      @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      holly powell lol, I know exactly what you are talking about! Yes, the fix to this is to combine your oils and water at a lower temp like around 100 degrees. It will become lotion a lot quicker. I think that happens when the lotion is thin and you keep mixing and then pour into your containers at a higher temp.

    • @greenbeautychemist.
      @greenbeautychemist. 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The solution to your problem is the use of an homogenizer. When making professional skincare products, avoid using hand blenders, it will pump in more air into your product ant his can destabilize your product and render it useless. The air bubble can also make mould grow in your products. Thanksto Sunshine Soap for the video

    When you store your big batch in an airtight container for fragrancing as needed, do you store yours in a frudge at that point or just in an airtight container ad if it was on a shelf in a store? And how long do you think that big batch can stay as such.... as long as a bottle does on a store shelf with the optiphen? Just curious because I watch you a lot and have finally gotten brave enough to try lotions that I have tested through over and over and am ready to finalize the production part! Hi Corey. If you don't mind me asking where did you purchase your bowls/buckets your using in this video and others as well? I have looked on Amazon and don't see them.

    I love the look of your lotion especially as you have a good amount of Shea butter in it, Sadly coming from Australia joining all the different Patreon groups of my favourite soap and body sites would make a recipe extremely expensive to me so I never really get the recipes I love the look of.

    I just want to say that I think that you are doing a great teaching job here and I appreciate your guidance very much, I just have one question, what type of scale do I need to purchase for making the lotion and candles.?

      Brenda Hutcherson hi, thank you! You just need a digital scale that can weigh in ounces and grams and can hold about 15 pounds at a time. Mine is a Taylor brand

    Hi nice video. How many ounces was your batch of lotion? How much preservative did you add to your batch? I have a hard time sometimes trying to figure out how much preservative to use in my products. What do you use to help you figure out how much preservative to use in your products? You mentioned that too much preservative can be harmful, that is why I want to make sure that I use the correct amount. I am always looking for a natural preservative.You are sharing some very informative information. You are doing a very good job helping others. Thank you

    Can you tell me what is the name of the metal container that you use to melt wax and the little heater thing that goes underneath it? Not sure if its actually for melting wax but im so excited to get started and not sure if i should just go for a presto pot. I am a newbie and i dont want a double boiler. Thank you for all you are doing. ❤❤

      I just use a metal pour pitcher. You can find one on candlescience.com. I think they sell the heater things you mentioned as well.
