    If I go and study straight after getting up in the morning, I see myself to be more productive and accomplished at the end of the day VS when I spend some time on my phone and checking out my social sites and all after waking up. I prefer keeping my phone wifi off until I've done around 2-3 hours of work. It boosts my stamina.
    Thank you Jamie for these tips : )

      sehrish rafiq PLUS - how freakin awesome do your feel about yourself in the days where it's 11 AM and you've already studied for 3 hours!!

      I definitely agree! about a year ago i deactivated my facebook for like a month. I found that i was studying so much more and was actually way more productive because like you said you wake up and you dont lie in bed for 30 mins checking social media you get up straight away and start studying. and also when i was bored or had a mental block typing id find without even realising id open facebook and start scrolling. when it was deleted (or blocked using an app) it wouldn't open and it would be like 'oh hang on, what am i doing??' and id give myself a proper 30 min break instead of just scrolling on the comp for 30 mins. Im an OT student and i totally believe in changing environments during breaks. so if youre typing when studying, during your breaks GET OFF THE COMPUTER! go read a book, or do some baking, or read a magazine. change the environment so that after your break you feel like you've actually had a break from the same type of stimuli.

    • @sehrish_rafiq
      @sehrish_rafiq 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Emma I totally agree with the "changing your environment part" too.

    My problem is after those first few hours of studying I take a break but then it is so hard to come back for the second half I either cannot concentrate or find a million other excuses.
    I like to study somewhere different every few days if not I get burnt out sitting in the same spot or area for several days in a row

    Thank you so much Jamie 🌸 I lovee your channel as well as your 'study with me' videos on your other one (: I look forward to new ones from your channels as well as replaying older ones as motivators throughout my day whether it be while studying or at work. This was laid out realistically! I started using the pomodoro technique as well since some of my friends in college shared their time managing apps to focus (I use the focus keeper app & just recently downloaded the Forest app also!) and put time into work and strictly putting away unnecessary items around them for clear space when studying! Really loved how you ended the video because at the end of the day it's all up to us to do the work and strive for success! Really appreciate the tips, thank you!

    I use the Quality Time app on my smart phone which helps to track the duration you use your phone, what apps you use, and how often u unlock it. It's useful to see what you're wasting time on and also has the option to 'take breaks' by locking the phone; only allowing certain app usage for a specified period
