It’s so sad how much they’ve downgraded barbie over the years ): and this isn’t even because of nostalgia, because I didn’t grow up in the 90’s! It’s just so clear how much quality has been lost, from everything to the creative and magical outfits and concepts to the beautiful and intricate set designs for the adverts. i wish we could get a revival of this era of quality someday, a Barbie renaissance, if you will!
Omg u should have also reacted to the 2000's barbie commercials too esp the barbie movie ones coz they are the most magical commercials i have ever seen esp the nutcracker, rapunzel, swanlake and the princess and the pauper movie doll commercials
I live in the Southern United States and mold is a big problem here so I couldn’t do a lot of water play with dolls. They never smelled the same once you got them wet.
I remember when I saw a "making of" video of a Bratz "Magic Hair" commercial and I was so taken aback when I saw a woman carefully styling and even *cutting* the dolls' hair into all of these intricate styles. That's when it all clicked for me, the fact that not even the parents would be able to style a doll's hair like that, let alone children.
Anytime I saw Barbie in a pool, bath tub, hot tub, whatever, when I was a child, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. My parents absolutely would not let me have a Barbie, so the commercials and ads in catalogs were what I lived for. Daily, I'd watch cartoons and have a catalog opened to the Barbie page.
@@amadelmay9064 It is a sad thing. It didn't make a lot of sense either because I would've been so much happier with one, relatively inexpensive Barbie, instead of the numerous "boy" toys I was allowed to have. I also grew up feeling that my parents weren't truly on my side or supportive of my interests. Growing up, I was very depressed/unproductive and very rebellious. I think a lot of problems I had in life resulted from my early interests not being truly nurtured, and overcoming such an upbringing continues to be quite a struggle. I mean, if you're not going to let your child have a Barbie doll, I sincerely hope your reason goes beyond "because you're a boy."
@@Rainbowdust74 I agree kids should be able to express and play however they feel without being confined by adult imposed gender constructs. May you continue to express your true self as an adult 💖🙏🏼
Idk what it is that I LOVE so much about watching people play with dolls… like what you were saying about the girls in the commercial having perfect choreography with their hands.
I was watching you tube today and was thinking of things to watch, and I just remembered... BEAUTY INSIDE A BOX!!!!!!!!!!! And started binging...hee, haa!
This was a great idea to review Barbie commercials. Your reaction was super amusing but also very honest and exactly what I thought while watching these TV ads. Mattel is all about profit. What ever they have to do to make something sell, then they'll do it. They hire the very best art and film specialists to make everything appear to be a fabulous fantasy, based in reality, but so perfect it's seem impossible and yet right at your fingertips. Each detail is planned and shot several times to get the perfect scene. This was great. You should do more reviews of Barbie commercials but go back even further, like 60s and 70s then the 80s. Your reactions are hilarious, genuine and unique. Keep up the excellent work.
You should definitely react to the hula hair Barbie commercial, mermaid fantasy commercial and also dream glow Barbie 2001also Cut and Style 1994 featuring Amanda Bynes ♡♡♡
I Love the old ones!!!! They make it so special and with so much work and love with real actresses I love this so much more than just done with computer.
The mermaid Barbie commercial was my favorite! I used to see that one all the time. Don’t think I ever had one though, I think I was only playing with Bratz at that time
OK, I want like 3 of these dolls now after seeing these commercials again. I'm a 90s kid and still have some old jingles memorized, including Totally Hair, Hollywood Hair, the minivan... and I still have the dolls, that's good brainwashing. I remember as a kid thinking Rappin Rockin Barbie was lame, like she was trying too hard. I absolutely loved the stop motion animated commercials. To see a real moving Barbie doll was amazing.
Totally hair Barbie was one of my favs and the mermaid barbies were also awesome you've got to know my daughter was born in 1985 sooooo by the time she was 4 she had over 100 barbies and then at her 7th year she got the town house and the cars and vans and clothes and everything you can think of. She collected 5hem in her later years like Bob Mackey and Holiday Barbie, she was my only child and she passed due to a car accident so as you might think I'm addicted to Barbie and cabbage patch kids also because of hers that I found in her things after she passed. Barbie brings comfort😍😘
The official Barbie TH-cam channel just posted a behind the scenes on the shoot of the Rainbow Sparkle Hair doll and it was illuminating! I think in many commercials it looks like little girls are making the dolls move, but I think they usually use a grown woman with small hands who have better motor control. The behind the scenes vid showed woman moving the dolls around, so my theory may be confirmed. I'm also so facinated by the way they make the doll's head turn to look into the camera. They must have something they put on the back of Barbie's head to make it easier, right? Anyway, great vid and I'm looking forward to more! Love the tiny closet in your new room.
My reaction when I look at old Barbie commercials is Barbie old commercials use to be so catchy back then. It's like watching 30 secs of music videos of these old 90's and especially late 90's and the early 2000 ones. You should do react on Trendy Bendy, Cut n Style(2002), Fashion Photo, Amazing Nails, Fashion Fever and Jewel Girl.
Wow...I'm so happy to see Mattel has revamped the classic Barbie slogan "We Girls Can Do Anything, Right, Barbie?" to "You Can Do Anything!" Such a cool update!
I always love the Barbie movies. And I have some of them on DVD. And I would love to see a Barbie movie covering the wizard of Oz. With barbie playing the roll of Dorothy?
I just remembered I used to have the magical hair mermaid Barbie from 1993! Lol I remember the material for the tail was purple and super shinny. Aw! 😢
Hello from Australia!! The first Barbie commercial I remember was the Malibu Barbie add. (yes, I'm that old.) I loved it, it had a Beach Boys inspired jingle. If you do another one of these I reckon you should go right back to the vintage barbie adds!! Keep up the great work!
ah good ol' mid 90s Barbie commercial CG, where barbie looks like she just walked out of a Tekken 2 cutscene. Jewel Hair Barbie is also one of my faves despite how much of a nightmare her hair can be
I already have rainbow sparkled hair barbie doll she has soft hair and she is beautiful😍😍 and for the sparkle gel all you have to do is mix warm water with the sparkle then shake it then bam sparkle then squize it then the sparkle will come out of the comb then put it in her hair then rinks her hair then dry her hair then do it again then wait for her the sparkles in her hair to get dry then you are done also i have total barbie the 90s barbie
Oh, these commercials specially mermaid Barbie ones thay they dip the doll in water and she was flawless... Did that to my Pearl Beach Barbie that i got in my 5th birthday... She never looked the same again, wish I could find her now, hopefully didn't give her away. I'd take great care of her cause I remember her long her being AMAZING
Hi so I like to say some things. First if you’re interested in the mermaid pool from the Barbie mermaid commercial, go see My Froggy stuff, she made her own mermaid grotto. Second you should watch vintage Disney doll commercials.
Honestly about hair styling of a doll, I can't even do a simple braid!!! I destroyed so many dolls as a kid trying to do a basic braid😅😅😅 and comparing my tries to the things you see in the commercials😅😅😅😅 not even now can I do a proper styling of the doll's hair😅😅😅 and I am in my 20s for gods sake. Trully amazing to look at all these commercials, but at the same time so frustrating because the child in me wants to be capable of doing those miraculous hairstyles, but knows fairly well of our level of skill🤣🤣🤣
When I was 10 i was sleeping and my little sis took some coloring gel from a barbie doll and colored a portion of my hair, long story short how I ended up going blonde
Love the new room , I love the Barbie commercials nostalgia

You should watch old Bratz adverts! I always thought they were really fun :D
