The best falsetto i have ever heard. The range is superb. I love the music. I can liten to it ovwr and over without getting tired of the melody.

We love them so much for their legendary talent but also because they were so down-to-earth and humble. That is not an easy combination to find among mega stars. Even now, Barry (according to his son) is painfully humble. They were just so human and easy to love.

You didn't hear anyone complain about Barry's voice back in the day.
We, the fans loved the Bee Gees and Barry's voice was a bonus. His voice fit right into the disco sound.

Robin was with Lesley at the start of the video. Now we know he really WAS a Gibb because they look so alike although he didn't look much like his brothers. She saved him from drowning as a toddler and Robin was always her "baby".

Listening to certain BeeGees songs I feel that Barry saw certain things before they happened. Its like he was preparing himself for a future without his brothers.
They sang the songs together ,but it seemed that Barry was alone.Especially songs like
"Reaching out",,and "Alone".I remember an interview his mother Barbara did saying Barry hated
    being alone.
These guys are so amazingly talented.Barry must get a lot of inspiration from them.R.I.P. Twins and Andy.

Absolutely beautiful song. So sad that Mo, Robin, and Andy are gone. This makes me think of Barry. When recording this he had no idea that he would be only brother left in the end. This song can have so many interpretations as it can be about a lost love too. I’ve lost most of my family so it has special meaning to me. The vocals and emotions are amazing. Falsetto was very appropriate here. Love this!!

Oh Yes Chad, starting off the weekend with "Spirits." "Reaching Out " is so beautiful. I'm a fan of this beautiful falsetto, and Barry's vibrato. Even though they do it all the time, these guys are the master of key changes and tonal surprises. The sadness, the build, the beautiful harmony all make this one a winner. Shallow note - My heart flutters with the quick picture of the "Spirits"Tour and Barry shirtless - Yeah to who ever put the slide show together.

The Spirits album was a great album. And the vocals fit the songs. Even Barry said that he got tired of singing falsetto at times but that's what people wanted. Now he does what he wants pretty much, I think he did very little of it he said on Greenfields. Mostly he used his natural voice, which is very good anyway. He's very talented.

In the Saturday Night Fever songs, Robin sang in unison, in chest voice, with Barry, which smoothed the sharp edges off Barry’s falsetto. People thought it was one voice. It even fooled a lot of music critics. They didn’t do that in the Sprits Having Flown era. I know other fans loved it, but it’s one cd that won’t be added to my collection.

Chad, thanks for bringing us such great bee Gees music. Have you listened to the entire cd Still Waters? It is absolutely fantastic. The Gibb brothers change their sound. The songs are on fused with an rhythm and blues sound and a pop sound. I Surrender is absolutely great, but the entire cd is great. I can't emphasize that enough. Can you add this cd to a Bee Gees selection for one of your podcasts? You won't regret it. Thanks for the positivity that you bring to this world.

I know many people argue about the overuse of falsetto but to me it happened afterwards, at the end of the 80s, but just because his voice changed drastically not because I didn't like the falsetto anymore, by the time of this album all three were at their prime, also those demos recorded for Barbara and Diana are astonishing good. In fact now I was listening to my entire album and that brought me here and I like it as much as I liked it in 1979, or even more.

Chad, you are right on the money with this one. The falsetto is so smooth and the harmonies. I actually forgot about this one until I started listening. It was a nice surprise to hear it again! I noticed in the pictures that the second picture is of Robin with their sister Leslie. She is the oldest sibling. She lives in Australia. Also I did recognize a lot of the pictures. However it seems that many of them were the bloopers. You know out of a set of five pictures usually only one makes it to the public. So somebody had access to these other pictures. Interesting indeed.

I liked the falsetto but yes I think it was over used. I love Barry's voice tho because he knows how to bring it down to a whisper. I love his booming voice in Nights on Broadway. Have you ever watched either the 1971 or 1974 Melbourne concerts? Both are great for different reasons. One is in Black and white but it makes it more personal. Idk if you react to concerts or not but they're interesting.

The problem with the falsetto on the Spirits album is that they chose to do the harmonies in falsetto as well. Compare that to the harmonies, say on "Night Fever", where they blend in natural voices, which to me is much easier to listen to. When you listen to the Spirits album straight through, by the time you get to "Living Together", the voices start sounding shrill. The writing and production was top notch on that album, but all the falsetto leads make everything sound so similar, when there are varied styles on that album, none of which is disco.
