By the time this was done, Robin did not drink, smoke and was a vegetarian. Watching clips like this gives a person a real insight into the Gibb brothers. Their humor and compassion was clearly evident in their everyday life. Thanks Chad

I think you are correct that this was filmed on this show when they also sang “Blue Island”. They are so funny and have so much fun together. It’s a joy to get to know them. During the worst of the pandemic I did just what you are doing, mainly because when you hear them sing and watch them perform, there is something so soulful that is emitted from all 3. They are very real, down to earth men who touch our hearts.
Yup they did sing Blue Island.
Their good friend, David English, said that they were not only wonderful songwriters and musicians, but that they could have done stand-up comedy because they were absolutely hilarious together!
3:22 that's a very iconic Robin's gesture which you will be recognizing in future interviews, usually he used to make that jump when he was talking and his brothers interrupted him. One time, he was the one who interrupted, he was in the middle, so Barry and Mo at the same time did at him the same way he always used to do, it's to die of laughter.

Exactly Chad, a laugh from beginning to end, I saw you really enjoying this clip. Now you understand us, that is one of millions of reasons for which we all absolutely adore these boys, they were not only the best singing, composing, harmonizing, but boy, their sense of humor is unstoppable. Also, that way you can better understand the 'Funny Moments' if you have the chance to watch the interviews first.

Yes, Chad, as others have pointed out, this is where your reaction to "Blue Island" came from and they did sing three other Bee Gees classics after their hilarious encounter with that "Wall of Death". I wish you had heard them sing "To Love Somebody", ""New York Mining Disaster 1941" and "Gotta Get a Message To You" with just those three amazing voices accompanied by two guitars. Promise me you'll go back and listen to the Bee Gees medley from the same show. You definitely won't be disappointed. I promise!
Robin didn’t drink, he was into health food, healthy lifestyle macrobiotic diet. He used to drink and smoke and took speed when he was young.

Robin named the Album ( Size isn’t Everything). He liked to shock people, per Barry. He normally is rather shy, unless he feels comfortable, knows or likes the interviewer. He even said as much during an interview …( it’s out on TH-cam). Barry said Robin has always been funny. Robin and Barry were like frick and frack and always in trouble growing up, where Mo was a goody 2shoes and for the most part stayed out of trouble….per an interview with Mo.
So happy together, brothers in unision, sitting close together. Think any problems, ever they had, came from circumstances outside themselves.
Yeah , you're right....this was the same program...they sang 3 songs...'Blue Island' , 'Massachusetts' , and ' Gotta get a message to you ' .... they were fantastic...goes without saying.....
We knew you'd love this, Chad! First, it's true that Robin didn't drink, probably because of what Mo dealt with most of his adult life. What a laugh a minute, huh? Our guys had us in stitches the ENTIRE time! Can't wait for what you have in store for us next!

J2, that's so true. Maybe things would have been different if only our precious angel had a little more weight on him as he battled that horrible cancer.

@@juanita6479 yes, I remember Robin talking about his Dad counting pennies, and often dinner was a shared bag of chips (French fries to us non Brits) and that a neighbour often saw them outside and brought them out jam buttys (ie sandwiches) because she knew they were hungry.
Great reaction! The Gibb brothers were ultimate showmen and always made sure to give entertaining and funny interviews. Robin became a vegetarian and I feel him mentioning the bulls who are cruelly killed for sport in Spain shows his deep empathy for animals

I've started putting on my headphones when watching the interviews so I can try to catch the little mumbled asides to each other. Like when Barry is reading the questions at the end and says "Have you ever had sex in a public place?" then turns to Robin and says, "Well we already know the answer to that one!"

Speaking of pants back in the day....I wonder how many women remember when Bonjour jeans FIRST came out? They came with a littler instruction manual that said in order to put them on, you should lie on the floor, do a pelvic tilt, and Zip! lol! Yes, they were that tight. The problem is that if you wore them to a club and had to use the ladies room....

I actually had sake at a Japanese steak house and it was served hot. A shot of that burned all the way down! But I really enjoyed it.

Great Chad. Glad you're getting to know these three guys as they really were, funny, kind, and on occasion risque. A lot of Robin's funniest humor wasn't always fit for mass media, unfortunately, or it was esoteric and over people's heads. Like the "barrel of t*ts". Has anyone ever seen one of those? 😲Who else would come up with something like that? He loved to shock and it often got him in a wee bit of trouble but still hilarious nevertheless. He also had a very deep and spiritual side to him which came across in a few of his solo interviews. Mo was a little more subdued in this one than usual. Barry could come up with a few good retorts too but he seemed to be the one trying to keep the gruesome twosome under control for the sake of decorum. I'm chuckling already thinking about "the Songwriter's Workshop" with David.

I was surprised about their comments about life after death. Very interesting. I believe it too, however, I don’t believe we come back.

Yes Chad, Alice Cooper. Aerosmith and others were also in the Sgt Pepper film. I'm old enough to have seen it in the theater as a teenager . As Robin said, "God it was bad!" Really cheesy except for their comedy and singing! I bought it awhile ago on DVD and have a good laugh Re-watching it 😄
I also saw it in the theater, that was THE think you absolutely had to do at the time, also SNF, I was minor to see that movie, but I managed to do it 🤣
I agree that movie was bad but it gave the world Robin singing "Oh Darling" and that was a priceless gift.

Yes, the movie was pretty bad but it has a cult following (kinda like the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" does). But our guys just running around saying not one word during the entire thing is good enough for me, especially our hot little Robin singing "Oh, Darling". That was worth the price of admission to be sure! 😍

Loved watching you enjoy this Chad! Yes, they sang back up to Alice Cooper in the Sgt Pepper movie - they were great of course, but Alice was really weird. The song was "Because" and Alice first sang it like the original but he was told to sing it Alice Cooper style instead.
They were the best of the whole movie, even if they had to settle for just being backup singers or the support act for Frampton, they were way long better than all the others.

I remember a brand of pants/jeans called Dittos. the commercial for them had a girl taking off a pair of regular jeans, and she had a pair of Dittos on underneath. Curve hugging, and leaving very little to the imagination, for sure! and p.s., don't you believe them about their cover of Because. It was presented in a kind of campy manner in the film, but their harmonies are impeccable.
