@@LeftCoastEV 2024 and 2025 Mach-E has a revised charging curve. Peak speeds are the same but it holds higher power for longer. 10-80% time is about 34-35 mins in real life.
@ 34 mins is 2-4 mins slower 10 to 80% than a Tesla Model Y which charges 10-50% far quicker due to a big initial kW but fades much sooner while the MME holds a flatter curve. Enjoy!
That is how I road trip a Tesla…I rarely charge to more than 50% as it slows down considerably. However, prefer a flatter and more consistent charging curve on an EV.
Another nice video. Thanks! As an F-150 Lightning owner Ford corporate is definitely taking EVs seriously; however, it is a hit or miss situation with the dealers. My local dealer was clueless - I knew far more about the truck than they did. When I needed servicing I took it to another dealer that had 3 EV techs and they knew what they were doing. Of course, a charging game changer for Ford is the Supercharger access (but available with your rental). That has made road tripping easy for me in BC, Alberta, and SK. I will rarely charge at non-Tesla charger while away from home. Just reviewed the free Ford adapter last week! I have been using my A2Z adapter since the spring. For the Mach E, how did you find the interior space? I hear it is roomier than you think - especially for a family with luggage.
It’s very roomy and very comfortable. No problem fitting even 5 adults in the Mach E. plus having a frunk is nice as it gives you even more versatility. Not sure why other automakers are not adding one…only a few of them are and Ford is one of them. I also agree with you about the dealership situation and lack of knowledge from the sales people there. I remember that Kia wasn’t much different when I bought my first EV many years ago. The guy had no idea what he was selling haha!
I have had the same problem with my mache. Service dealer is clueless and I unfornatly have to deal with them unless I am willing to drive 4 hours to Denver :( I am still pissed that they took 4 weeks to get blue cruise installed in my 2021 Ford Mustang mache. I need to take it in again as my car won't let me use cruise control for more then 10-15minutes. It freaks out and I literally sometimes have to pull over and turn off my car.
Dealers really do not want to deal with EVs it seems. I am waiting for the day when we can buy the car direct from the manufacturer and then go to a service centre that knows exactly how to service with our vehicles without this middle man getting in the way and making things that are easy way more complicated than it needs to be.
Since you are renting from real owners on Turo the cars usually have all the options. Rental companies like Avis don’t bother getting the extras. Too bad would have loved to try it.
Likely a current limit before a power limit. That charge rate seems a bit low for the State of Charge, but I have not charged on that equipment yet. Also, there are Level 2 chargers in the parking lot behind the power house. Down the hill from where you parked. I've done a couple 3000+ mile road trips in my Mach-E in the US.
What do you think of the Ford Mustang Mach E as a road trip EV? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
I've done a 2000mi round trip last summer in my 21 Mach e GT. Loved every second of it.
I will need to take the Mach E on a longer road trip for sure. Maybe next summer!
Love the Mach E. Great EV all around and the space for family travels is amazing.
The space is what sold me. Inside is much bigger than what it looks from the outside.
Good video. Nice to see it charge faster than in your previous video. Hoping that the 2025 model year will be even faster at charging.
Can’t wait to see what the charging speeds will be like for the 2025 model year of the Mach E.

Nice! This will make it an even better road tripper. Thanks for the info!

My Turo rental in Toronto had blue balls cruise. I love very much, hands free

These DC fast chargers were nice. Very convenient. The Mach E is truly a great road trip EV.
I love my2023. Range, comfort, and performance are all outstanding. The only gripe I have is that the blue cruise hands free driving costs $800 a year.
I’ve not had a chance to use Blue Cruise yet. Do you think it’s worth the $800 per year?
@@LeftCoastEV i love blue cruise. makes commuting less stressful.
I will need to try it then!
I saw these at Avis the other day. Mach E is really underrated by many. Also yes Ontario is horrible for EV charging
It is. I wish Avis would have these available in Alberta but sadly no. Would love to do a winter range test here.
an hour and a half hardly counts as a "road trip"... just saying.
Sorry to disappoint. Feel free to record, edit and post your own road trip videos. Send me a link when you do, would love to see your take on it!
