What's it like to SKI EXPEDITION-STYLE in FREEZING COLD?[AnkaratAvotunturit][2024]

I participated in INTRO TO ARCTIC SKI EXPEDITIONS course organized by ‪@avotunturit1095‬, in preparation for a longer tour this winter. The course took place at Syöte National Park in Finland in early January 2024.
We had a group of 10+ students learning about our gear and packing it into our sled pulks, with the aim to overnight in our tents at Ahmatupa hut. We learned about how to safely use multifuel stoves, how to pack the tent so that it's easy to pitch at the end of the day, and how to organize regular pauses during a long hiking day so that everyone has a chance to get some rest and food.
Temperature dropped to frisky -28C on the way, but fortunately the camp was at higher ground and considerably warmer than on the flat marshlands.
Apologies for the video footage quality - I had to mostly shoot it with my smartphone which started behaving weirdly as it got colder and colder. At the end of the day, phone screen had a layer of frost on it since I didn't have a pouch for keeping the device warm(er).

Very nice. The snow made everything look so beautiful. It was definitely cold. I hope the students learned something and had fun doing it. 👍
