About Austria & Ralf Rangnick: I think it is very important to point out that Rangnick did not just come in two years ago and then implemented his philosophy into Austria's national team. Rangnick has been the sporting director of RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig, so basically the entire Red Bull footballing world, from 2012 to 2020. I am personally not a fan of Red Bull in football in general, but it cannot be denied that they transformed Austria in footballing terms. Most of the successful Austrian players went through Red Bull's academy at Liefering, so like 80% of our national team was already familiar with Rangnick's philosophy before he even became our national manager. He's basically managing an all-star team of players he formed with his philosophy. He is doing incredibly well and I love it, but it is VERY hard to replicate.
deschamp would drop him if he was in the french team but southgate hasn't got the bollocks to do that. he is weak and doesn't want to upset his favourite players rather than doing whats best for the team.

The problem was Kane is too slow to react and run to keep up to the pace of the youngsters. And that is why those youngsters every of them were afraid of making a fast pace passing or playing quick one two. All Kane want is only crossing and tap ins and it doesn't suit England playing style against Slovenia as it can be seen in 2nd half.

Unless there is a drastic shift, I think in the last 16 Southgate is going to get schooled on what we've all been saying since that Italy game, but remember hes 'not interested' in any criticism.
It's all about using the subs and not being afraid to make changes. Especially with a favourable draw. I'd like to see what Saka would do with Foden in the 10. Odergard relationship esq. Runs in behind. Bellingham is not providing that service. And then subs on 55 mins Trent same cbs walker Bellingham rice Saka. Foden gordon Kane Palmer mainoo eze Watkins to get minutes. Happy to also play Palmer instead of saka but still would like to see saka next to a proper number 10
Bellingham is too much of a liability on the ball to play deeper. Against a team that presses high, he will give the ball away ALOT. He needs to be dropped.
@yossared901 He does. I've picked a team which I would like but is realistic. Bellingham is not getting dropped And to be fair, I'd like to see him back in the 8. The key is not to be afraid subing the big boys. With added time and extra time now an option there should be plenty of time for player to affect the game
Southgate changed tactics in that Germany game because he had a settled 1st choice team he was confident in to then adjust from. he's still searching for his first choice team to work currently which is why he's making single changes and leaving players who are clearly unfit in the starting line up and/or on the pitch too long and not even considering a change to a back 3 despite not having a fit left back in the squad.

At this moment, I desperately want England to play the Netherlands . If we play and beat a team like Slovakia, no matter how good they are, the ' England avoid anyone good' stuff starts, and 'it's a fix', etc.
There’s an easy answer to that charge, but present it like a guide for dummies: France, Belgium, played themselves into the tougher bracket and England only had to play shit football to not do that.
@@jasonallen6081 yup, and same as you. England aren’t playing well but still did what was expected of s which is win the group; France and Belgium didn’t so England are just reaping the rewards of doing what they should. Haters are gonna hate, fuck em!
Southgate’s tournament plan, from what I can tell, has been to rely on his safest players getting him through the group, using the young new players sparingly. It clearly hasn’t worked for him. A braver manager would’ve gambled on Mainoo, Palmer and Gordon to start, benching one of Foden or Bellingham. Mainoo behind both Trent and Gallagher has been his worst mistake, IMO, but all three should’ve played significantly more. I hope he swings for the fences in the knockout rounds and plays the youngsters, telling them to go out there and play without fear. Who cares if we lose in the second round or the final when it’s all or nothing? But ones thing is for sure, if we don’t play the kids, we won’t win.
He has the agenda of helping Kane to reach an everlasting goalscoring record which in the future nobody can break it at the expense of England winning the trophy.
This will sound unhinged but it could work. Jude looks dead tired, he can sit out for a couple of games If Shaw isn't fit, Saka needs to do a shift at left back. Walker on the right, Guehi & Stones as the center backs. Rice, Gallagher, Mainoo, will be the midfield three. Foden and Gordon on the wings, Kane can start as the 9. Rice can drop into the backline if they are being pressed or under duress. Functionally it can be a 5-2-3 which has been Southgates "best system". They can utilise the running of gordon and walker on either wings, have some actual midfield graft in Mainoo and Gallagher. Jude can replace either in a match or after he's had a week off.
The point is Why should Southgate brought Shaw if he is not playing? Was Southgate did this to get the attention from the media or what? When England have other left footed leftback option why can't Southgate brought them?
Yes, the manager has to take risk. You can't play safe. If this sort of performance remain the same in the knock out, for sure England will get knocked out.
They are group games. We conceded one goal, which was a worldy. We won the group. The Knock-outs are where it begins. I'm just so pissed off by the negativity.
Southgate has missed his chance to change things up. He's now wedded to this line-up and tactical plan. No way he has the balls to make changes inn the knockout round. Really hope I'm wrong.
30:20 After cards it's qualifying records, and guess what, Denmark and Slovenia were in the same group, and they ended their group with 22 points each 😂
England was never at risk of not qualifying, so they never got going. I think it's as simple as that. It happens to us Dutch all the time, we're complacent by nature
England Potential Route To The Final: Last 16 Vs Holland Quarter Final Vs Italy Semi Final Vs Belguim Final Vs Spain Or Portugal I honestly can't see England even getting past Holland let alone winning the tournament, this will be a repeat of Euro 2016 with England getting knocked out in the last 16, can't wait to see it 😁
I've backed Southgate every time but last night was down to him. He made the change with Mainoo and we were of course slightly better. Palmer came on and made it slightly better again the same for Gordon but he wasn't given a pathetic amount of time. Why Bellingham didn't come off instead of Foden is baffling. Foden was creating something but Bellingham was gone. We weren't going to lose unless something unrealistic was going to happen but we would have scored if we had fresh legs on earlier.i feel Southgate didn't really want England to win without Bellingham ironic as head said earlier that England need to win without him. We would have learnt about the players more this way
My fix? Focus on "#10" rip up current plans and say balls to it. Go - 3-4-1-2. Pickford, Walker, Guehi, Stones - TAA, Rice, Mainoo, Gordon - Foden OR Bellingham (NOT BOTH) - Kane, Palmer (or Bowen or Watkins or Toney).... Failing that.... just be Austria.
So Southgate drops the left wingers, Rashford and Grealish who have contributed much to England , and replaced them with Gordon and Palmer because they have been in top form , but doesn't start them ??!! And so there has been no threat from the left wing , and Kane has been starved of service. Then he brings these form players on at the end of the game, and England create more chances, but he STILL doesn't start them !? Gareth seems to have acute learning difficulties.
England are officially now part of 3 of the top 5 lowest scoring groups in european championship history.. Also the crazy thing is, everyone can see Englands problem. Everyone knows they need to play Saka on the left, and that dropping TAA wasnt the solution. But none of the England coaching staff can seem to solve this, instead they just copy Italy's set up without the players with the right characteristics.
It's not that amazing though. Germany, France and Spain are each in 2 of those groups as well (there are actually 6 groups included). stands to reason that those teams are in several of these since they are the teams who play most tournaments.
I really don’t know what has happened to the England 🏴 team and how it has gotten so drastically bad, what is the root cause of this crisis, I hear “ it’s the manager, “ or “it’s the players “ or “we haven’t got the right players who can play in their best positions “ and why if it’s a management problem has nothing been done to resolve this issue, these players play every week for their club and they play at the highest level of the premier league, so why is it that they can’t bring this ability into the national squad, the national squad should not be having these issues, and when we hear that at least we aren’t going to play Germany, in the next stage, surely the correct attitude should be, bring it on, let’s give them a game, this sounds to me a very negative attitude, it’s just another thing that is making the problem a lot more worrying, it’s not the best way to approach the tournament with this attitude, it’s all negative energy and this is a very good set of players and they are very capable of playing to a very high standard which is vital to be a contender for the trophy, we can do it, but it’s the attitude of the team in general and this negativity is one of the problems, I don’t think it’s going to be fixed in time for this tournament, and we have to build a better squad for the next one, this is the euro championship, the next one is the world cup and if we go into that tournament with the same mindset as now that is going to end in tears, I’m sure Southgate is a good manager but we need a more realistic and more aggressive squad and let the players play together and in their own style, but most importantly we need to bring the youngsters into the game and make the squad of the future everything that we are today, unfortunately it is so bad and boring to see England playing, that I don’t think I will be watching the rest of their games, and let’s face it, there isn’t going to be many more
Portugal france holland and italy havent been great either. England havent been bad their group has. really negative teams ( england are icluded a bit but have been the most positive of the 4 ) We were better second half and shouldnt have to play negative defensive teams anymore. Was Southgate did this to get the attention from the media or what?
When England have other left footed leftback option why can't Southgate brought them?
Yes, the manager has to take risk. You can't play safe. If this sort of performance remain the same in the knock out, for sure England will get knocked out.
Gordon really impressed. Their defender was terrified.
One lovely through pass suddenly shock the Slovenes defenders.
Easy! easy! easy!
3 cups thrown at Southgate? That’s 3 more cups than he will ever win in his whole managerial career then! 😂
They are group games. We conceded one goal, which was a worldy. We won the group. The Knock-outs are where it begins. I'm just so pissed off by the negativity.
Charlie Kane there everybody.
England Potential Route To The Final:
Last 16 Vs Holland
Quarter Final Vs Italy
Semi Final Vs Belguim
Final Vs Spain Or Portugal
I honestly can't see England even getting past Holland let alone winning the tournament, this will be a repeat of Euro 2016 with England getting knocked out in the last 16, can't wait to see it 😁
3-4-2-1 with Gordon in for Trippier to start. Pickford; Guehi, Stones, Walker; Gordon, Rice, Mainoo, Saka; Bellingham, Foden; Kane.
You are right to say that!!!
We would have learnt about the players more this way
If only we had the passing skills of Albanian and Georgia
Basically Southgate isn’t up to it. Do you think he has the capability of forward thinking? Serious question?
Without Bellingham, we can't win. So don't even go there. Forget it. He is the best player in the world. When it matters, he will produce.
he's far from the best player in the world, by any metric.
Next match, same eleven again, with Mainoo instead of Gallagher. Wait and see.
Nothings changed?? Southgate had a different shirt on it took him 2 weeks to make such a change
Netherlands also rival England as underachievers.
Portugal as well arguably. But certainly Netherlands.
Palmer is not a Risk.
Speller who has he beat you’re out of your mind
Absolutely disagree. France have created even less than England has.
Just say it Bellingham isn’t it… Lukenation know
England are officially now part of 3 of the top 5 lowest scoring groups in european championship history..
Defensively england have been good.
