Something you can do to kill spiders that get stuck climbing walls is to dig a 2-wide and 2-tall rectangle in the ceiling all along the wall, put signs on the bottom level, and water above the signs. This way the spiders will climb the wall and start drowning in the ceiling, the string also gets pushed to you as well
I am satisfied with your old farm, where cactus are used for killing, I was lucky to find two spawners of spiders nearby, and I was able to connect two farms using streams of water, the productivity was about 12 stacks of strings per hour
Thank you so much, I was at level 14 which was very scary with bedrock but luckily it still works, just had to make the collection chamber two blocks deep instead of three!
I just finished building it. It works excellently. I suggest making a ladder so you can access the water trench because every now and again the spiders get stuck getting around the corner and you need to kill one of them so the farm starts working again. It doesnt happen very often so it shouldn't be a very big issue for most people :) Great video mongster :D
This is pretty cool. I actually need this in my Beta world, I tried changing my spider farm from a drop kill trap to a drowning afk trap and I couldn't figure it out again. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thanks for the tutorial mate! I got lucky and my spider spawner happened to be on the bed of the ocean. That meant the hard part was getting rid of the water, but I had direct sunlight on the spawner while I was working on it. I'm using the spider spawner to farm string for wool. I don't know if it'll be my permanent wool farm, or if I will try and see if a passive mob spawner is more efficient. We will see.
Is there a way to get them to stop from crawling onto the top corners of the spawner room? Every once in a while they just chill there and get stuck, have to manually kill them to reset the spawning
@@mysticstylez134 this seems to happen on servers in my experience, you can try adding some blocks or ladders to stop them from climbing upwards maybe. You could also try putting the end of a water stream suspended by signs up in those corners, so when the spiders get up there they get pushed out

We need more of these!
Your design works very well, I additionally placed cacti blocks on the top of each wall so spiders don't stuck

I have noticed they get stuck, but give it a little time and new spiders will knock them loose
