I was at this show - sat just off to Richie's left. My face still hasn't fully healed from being melted off.
Richie is a national treasure at this point... people lament SRV's and Hendrix's passing... meanwhile, Richie sort of hovers around at this sublevel where no one who isn't directly aware of him through an old shredder guitarist like me, even knows his name.. and he can sing man, and play.. and compose, fuck... Its not like he's struggling but he just deserves so much more recognition for his craft...
I love this guys music so much.. damn!
NO shit man. People "idolize" guys from the 60's who put out one or two good records and then rested on those laurels for the next 50 years. All while Richie churns out AMAZING shit and just keeps improving. The 50 for 50 is some of his best work yet.

Richie is the total package.... he has it all ! Unique songwriting , lyricist, guitar playing from hell, incredible tone in those hands, a voice so passionate and soulful, the stage presence, and yes.... those arms of his .. he's got the guns!
This song brings me back so many great memories. I was at his show and honesty i didn't know if he was going to play it or not. But as soon as he left the stage for the encore, he passed right in front of me. I quickly said to him: "please, play Sarah Smile!". He came back to the stage and did it! It was amazing.
Thanks to you we have this treasure!!!! Hall is very good but not like this... he did write a brilliant song to give credit where it's due, G^d bless him...Richie's vocal yeah, soulful, but a little less notes on solo would be better like the beginning of the last solo, can hear him express his artfulness, bc he has the sensitivity - less can be more.

With all due respect, 44 people have the myopic vision that a "cover" should be stylistically adherent to the original…like a note for note facsimile. Richie's interpretation of this song is flat out amazing. I've seen him perform this song many times live, but this is by far the best. Thanks for the upload.

Kotsen is tremendous. He's why I'm here, because I have no interest whatsoever in listening to 99% of Hall & Oates music... but the hits were hits because of how much the vast majority liked the song AS IT WAS RECORDED. Personally, I don't really care for the song, but I'm in the middle of an hour-long Kotzen auto-play and he's so good I don't fast-forward through any of the songs, like em or not. Having said that, people, by and large, prefer to hear the hits as they were recorded. The hits are highlights people wait for in the concert, and they want to hear it like they remember it... or the majority do.

Damn,... I just played this on my tv (with a sounder) for the first time,... The sound is pretty damn good,...especially his vocals. Only wish the club wasn’t so dark for the video part of it.

I was at this show. Steve Lukather was in the club. I was standing kinda hanging out with them during the break. Ritchie asked Luke to sign his hand between his thumb and forefinger so he could have it tattooed permanently. I wonder if he has that tattoo.
