@@Basca112Monarchy? What can they do? They are just there to recognise the past of our country, just like the Swedish church almost no one believes in god anymore but we still pay to have the churches running because it’s a big part of old Sweden
As a non-Swede I know very little about your monarchy but think Jonna is a treasure. I guess it depends at which level of life you live. I would think that the monarchy does more at a diplomatic level.
Because there will be less sun towards autumn. then it is very likely that you will become more depressed. therefore it is recommended that we take extra vitamin D. Therefore some of us have a lot of light in our homes so we get cozy inside our homes.
Jonna is for sure one of the best out there on TH-cam. We here in Sweden are very proud of her . Mulitalented lady who creates jewlery..music..paintings...film..photos.. As a flyfishing man i am in the summertime up in the very north of Sweden catching trout..grayling and arctic char. It's like my second home. Up there you can hear the mountins speak to you and the streams wisper secrets for you. It is really magic and wonderful up there. But It can also be the opposite when the storms hit you like a brick. After 40 years in the north of Sweden in summertime i'm still longing to the never ending light up there. This reaction was great. Thank you guys.❤❤
Hello, swede 🇸🇪 here living just above the polar circle. Aurora Borealis during winter are something extraordinary. Even though I live here and have experienced it hundreds of times it still baffles me, and it also reminds everyone watching how small and pitiful we actually are. About the ice bath, its not that awful as it looks. When its -20⁰C its actually cozy to take a bath in +3 water, the real pain comes when you get up 😅 Welcome to Sweden as tourists, but if you have plans to visit the north part of Scandinavia by car I strongly suggest you do that during summer when roads are open and its light 24/7. The winter here can be harsh. Another reaction channel for places are a great idea.
Even in minnesota. Darkest day of the year December 21st it gets light about 8:30 and dark by 4:30. Still we get 8 hours minimun of sunlight. Max sunlight is 5:00-10:15 at night on june 21st. It's why we always start fireworks at 10:00 every july 4th
I live a little below the Arctic circle and could never move to live somewhere else, I have tried to live down south but the winter is much more challenging due to the moist air and wind factor (there is also to many people around...😄). Up here the air is dry and it doesn´t feel so cold, just wear the right clothing. Now I don´t work, just for myself at home and that make wintertime easier in a way. When I was younger, had kids at home, go to work and having to start the morning by showeling snow was not fun. But the winter is beautiful, as Jonna says; the stars, the Northern light, snow on the pines. If healthy go skiing into the forest, making a fire and taking a "Swedish fika" outside, that´s very nice. For me personally I have yearly schedule; I like to cultivate so I start seedlings in jan and every month until summer, that gives me a purpose and something to do. In summer we live outside as much as possibly, hiking in the forest, making dinner outside, swimming and fishing in the river, foraging for early mushrooms, cloudberries, blueberries, raspberris and herbs and often hiking in the mountains not so far away from our village. In autumn harvest time has arrived, taking care of the veggies and picking late mushrooms + lingonberries. Lightning candles in the evening, reading a lot of books and watch movies (and TH-cam), eating and drinking nice food. Then it is time for X-mas, tidying up the house, decorate, making candy and X-mas food, celebrate New Year and then it is suddenly Januari and time to start seedling again! One have to find the rythm of the seasons and create your own schedule; do the things you have to do but also relax a bit more but also keep your mind up by doing fun things, concentrate on a hobby, learn something new.
Its a huge transformation when spring arrives, we kinda tend to wake up from being sleepy & depressed zombie. I would never change it, I've learned to understand how lucky I am to live here. During 1999 it got -51c, but average winter is somewhere between -20 to -35c :)
As a person born in Poland but living in Sweden (reasonably southern part that isn't as extreme as her part), it took me YEARS to get used to summer nights. Now I love it and can sleep just fine when it's bright light. Winters however.... I suffer. Waking up and go to work, when it feels like in the middle of the night, is incredibly difficult. And the same thing with the afternoons, when it feels again as middle of the night. Still, each season is beautiful.
I can remember when I was in the Army and in the field in the winter and pulling guard. When the Sun started to peek over the horizon it was like I could understand why in the past people worshiped the Sun. It would be cold, cold and dark .. and when the Sun rose .. I felt as if I should drop to my knees in praise or something.
You two are so sweet. The light conditions are different in Sweden depending on where you live. I live in the south and we don’t have those extreme differences in summer and winter. And down here we have longer summers and the winters never get really cold. I haven’t seen real snow that lasted more than 24 hours in years. And yes, do reactions from different places around the world, I love to watch them. And Jonna, she is highly loved and respected in Sweden and she even got recognition from the Swedish king.
My wife and I live in western Canada in the mountains, many thing I saw in this video are similar and a joy to watch but the reality of living in these places can be much different. I will be heading out soon for a few hours to spit wood, something I have been doing for the past few days to ready for winter. Soon it will be time to fit the snow plow to the Jeep to ensure we can get out to the road and then into town when needed, a job that must me done for the upcoming winter months ahead. Don't get me wrong, we love this life but there is work to be done every day in order to live this way. We are retired so this how we spend our day, if still working a full time job and then coming home to do this additional work could be a bit much for some. Yes visit the world as best you can, there are some amazing places. I am not sure about this format just yet but will view and see how it goes for you both, good luck, I will be watching.
Awesome idea to react to scenic places worldwide! I watched the other one, 10 most scenic drives... I definitely vote YES, and prefer the option of offering them on this same channel!!
Jonna said somewhere that when she shot the icebath, the camera stopped recording so she had to dry herself and do it again... If you look closely, you can accually see that her hair is still a little wet when she climbs in to the water... Be safe

Jonna shows the most amazing sides of Sweden in this video. Personally I love the video where she sits in a beautiful meadow with wildflowers, appearing as almost a nordic princess. And then she swats at mosquitoes and ruins the scene. Next she stomps through the meadow wearing a hat with a mosquito net... ha ha... that is the truth of our summers here in the north.
I live here and every time I see stuff like this I just decide to move south, because being here all year is just ridiclous. That said, it is very beautiful. And very real.
Their roads get cleared in winter. And there is a village close by with a grocery store. (I only know this from her videos, that is). I don't think they get significantly snowed in since they are used to it, so the municipalities have the equipment they need. As for the ice baths, she also has a sauna by the lake. So it's not just the frozen bit. 🙂
Most people in Sweden lives in cities, or villages. But some lives like this. And without a car it is close to impossible. Also if you lived in Sweden for all your life the dark period is a mental stress. But it explains our behaviour when the sun appear on the first clear sunny day in the spring: looking at the sun as if it is unreal. But this video is more true than many other.

But it's the damn birds making noise! But I also go to bed late.
Thank you for reacting. I live in Sweden but I have absolutely zero knowledge or connection to what she's living or experiencing. Like she said, she lives in the middle north of Sweden. Sweden is a very "oblong" country. Most people live like from the middle and down. So most of us do not have the experience of what she's portraying because we don't have those kinds of conditions. North of Sweden is very sparley populated. And I think I'm as amazed as you are.
Since Sweden is so long and shaped from north to south, we have very different climates depending on where u are. I havent been there but in the winter there usually a hotell that is built from ice every winter, im sure they have some frames and a foundation but the rooms themselves are made from ice. as always u guys make good reactions, ty for this one. Even where I live in basically southern Sweden, during the summer we don't get real midnight, only what's it called, civil twilight. Basically, it's not full sunlight, but it's not dark either. And during winter of course we only get like 4-6 hours of sunlight (if the sky is clear). By coordinates, it's 59N 16E. And northern Sweden is still some towns at 69N, like going down to Slovakia if you go south. 100% visit The Nordics during both mid winter and mid summer. Both are beautiful in their own way. Especially if you like nature and hiking, or for example going to visit Santa in Finnish Lapland.
WELL: I experience all the vicissitudes of nature like Jonna. Shits on an outdoor patio and has water in cans. Listens (well actually!) to the Northern Lights sometimes. I freeze occasionally but would never replace. I wish I had Jonna's talent so I could earn some money, poor pensioner that I am and live where I live because of no choice. Love it!
I live in the northern parts of Sweden. and I feel my body needs less sleep in the summer thanks to the light. and we can get down to just over 30 minus degrees in the winter. but we can get up to 30 plus degrees in the summer.
So glad you enjoyed this! I love Jonna's videos - she is a beautiful soul and so talented. If you want to see more about Polar Night have a look at Cecilia Blomdahl's channel - she lives even further north and her videos are fascinating too xx❤
Int winter its normal too have minus 20-30 degrees celsious in the northest parts and in extremes even colder. And in spring all of true swedes turn our faces like flowers to the sun just basking in the light that has not been seen for soo long.
You should really come to sweden and if you do, do it both in the darkest part of the winter, like mid december above the arctic circle and also in the lightest part of the summer in southern sweden just before midsummer, in the last weeks of june. It is a looong country (more than 2000km by car from the southernmost to the northernmost parts), so it truly is the land of contrasts.
I live in the southern part of sweden and minus 27 degrees is rare (coldest temp i can recall). But some winters it gets super cold down here. Up there minus 30 is common. I used to work the nightshift and sleep during the few hours the sun was up so during winter i often did not see the sun for over 3 months. :D
sleeping in daylight becomes a natural thing after a wh8le, but window blinds and curtains... are often used, where she lives (quite a bit south of me) it is usually not much below 20c in winter, few days it may be below 30c but n9t frequently. where I live -40 is not exactly unknown,. we have very efficient snowclearing here, rarely we get snowed in, couple of years ago we had 1.5m of snow in a weekend, monday , only two out of approximately fifty failed to get to work in reasonable time.
I am (like many Swedes) a big fan of Jonna. She is so talented (filmmaker, photagrapher, painter, singer and silversmith). But right now I'm a bit worried for her. In her latest video she told us she was hurting emotionally and feeling very sad right now, something is very wrong in her life currently (but she hasn't told us what it is yet). I hope she finds her way out of whatever is affecting her in this way, I miss her beautiful videos. 👃❤
Fwiw such natural beauty is actually rather common and quite accessible. I have a Romanian friend who's moved here and she goes out hiking for days all alone. There's not much danger in the Swedish wilderness, just don't eat random mushrooms or fall onto rocks and you'll be fine. Also don't leave trash - keep nature clean.
There’s alot of contrast to this. I live in the south of Sweden and we get about 6 hours of sun / day during the winter months and about 3-4 hours of darkness during the night in the summer. This is because of the distance to the equator. South sweden is as close to north Africa as it is to to the very north of Sweden, so it depends where you go
I don't remember if she mentions how cold it was in the video at some point, but this last winter it went down to a -25C -30C, so yeah, some good clothes are necessary
The northern lights is seen in the wintertime 99% of the time. And it needs to be a clear sky. So if ever you are traveling here with the aim to see it, come between November - March and go to the far north of Sweden. For instance Kiruna.
The ice baths are good for you in most cases but if you have heart problems it can be dangerous. When your body hits the water it feels like a thousands of needles and your heartrate spikes it races like WFT but it makes you feel soo alive, it shocks your whole immun system but it also makes it stronger.
You wondered how the body adapts to the extreme fluctuation of light. Most suffer to some degree of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Many have a hard time sleeping in the summer but still have energy, and feeling tired and depressed in the winter due to darkness and social isolation. The social life hibernates in the winter because many just lack the energy to keep it up, but when it wakes up in the spring it is the more energetic. Others are like me; totally uneffected by the sun when it comes to the circadian rhythm. My mood also get gloomy in the winter but I do not get as tired. I have no problem at all sleeping with the sun directly in my face. My body clock do not adapt to the light conditions at all. It is a genetic Circadian Rhythm Disorder (called Non24, the because our cycle runs on 25 hiurs not 24, which pushes everything one hour a day) that runs in the family. My family have lived in an area not far from where Jonna lives for at least 500 years (that is how far back the documentation goes), and if the pattern extends backwards then it has lived there for thousands of years. I am not sure but I have a hunch that our circadian condition is an adaptation to the extreme light conditions. I can see huge evolutionary benefits with it (even though it is hinderance in the modern days of clocks). I also know several people from Finland and north of Norway who have the same condition. One thing that is a huge difference between the south and in the north is the snow. The snow in the north reflect the little light there is. In the south it is much darker even though it is during a shorter period. I very much prefer the snow even though the dark period is longer and the temperature is colder.
How cold? It can become -30 C, but usually it doesn't become below -20 C, and that's for the northern part of Sweden, in the south it rarely gets below 0 C But that's OK it's when the wind kicks in that's when it gets nasty. Snowstorm that makes you see no longer than two meters and-30 C, that's not pleasant, I kind of enjoy it though. When she filmed this, AFAIK she lived in the more or less center of Sweden, it's concidered the north, but you know, there is a lot of land north of that. Sweden is located north to south about the same as Alaska
i dont live as far up in sweden as she does so the darkness in not as extreme here. but i often find myself wondering if the sun is about to raise or if its about to set. the light is quite the same the whole time the sun is up. Dark when you go to work. dark when you get home. I am 34 years old now. And i feel like its effecting me more now then when i was younger. And you can feel the days getting shorter and shorter now in september. BUT, its much easier to get the kids to bed now. Just point outside and tell them its really late now! haha
Definitely do a separate Channel if you're up to the work and it is advantageous to you. I'll subscribe.😊 The world according to Briggs is a American TH-camrs channel. He is a little bit more statistical and does a lot of top 10 lists like the top 10 places to retire to in the United States, Etc. And he lives in Seattle Washington so his lists often include the Pacific Northwest and the California coast.
If you go to Sweden in the winter time you'll just be sitting indoors and you can do that anywhere. Unless you're a hardcore winter sports person people only go out to shovel the snow to clear their driveways. Those temperatures are persistent temperatures, not the high or low. When it gets cold in Sweden it stays cold. And people living there have a big problem with depression because of the months-long Darkness. The swedes have adapted to combat seasonal depression by having frequent social Gatherings and keeping physically fit.
people working to much " becuse thats the way we are raised " and travel less.... sad, get out there people... no one owns you. Best regards from sweden

Google nose warmer, crochet 🤣. Nordic countries have something to keep everything warm. All the best from Denmark ❤
looks like a fairy tale!
25 most beautiful places in Norway
So glad you enjoyed this! I love Jonna's videos - she is a beautiful soul and so talented. If you want to see more about Polar Night have a look at Cecilia Blomdahl's channel - she lives even further north and her videos are fascinating too xx❤
Int winter its normal too have minus 20-30 degrees celsious in the northest parts and in extremes even colder. And in spring all of true swedes turn our faces like flowers to the sun just basking in the light that has not been seen for soo long.
i like your reactions
About clothes we have a Swedish saying that goes like this: “There is no such thing as bad weather only bad clothes!”
Storing food for the winter must not be too difficult. Refrigeration is everywhere. 😂😎🇺🇸
❤
sleeping in daylight becomes a natural thing after a wh8le, but window blinds and curtains... are often used, where she lives (quite a bit south of me) it is usually not much below 20c in winter, few days it may be below 30c but n9t frequently. where I live -40 is not exactly unknown,.
we have very efficient snowclearing here, rarely we get snowed in, couple of years ago we had 1.5m of snow in a weekend, monday , only two out of approximately fifty failed to get to work in reasonable time.
You guys should take a weekend at the Ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi.. 😎👍
Go to the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi! It's open all year round.
welcome to the north:) here we live as it was meant to be
i live about 50km from jonna and its the best life
I am (like many Swedes) a big fan of Jonna. 👃❤
🥰👍👍
Fwiw such natural beauty is actually rather common and quite accessible. I have a Romanian friend who's moved here and she goes out hiking for days all alone. There's not much danger in the Swedish wilderness, just don't eat random mushrooms or fall onto rocks and you'll be fine. Also don't leave trash - keep nature clean.
Hope you both resume your Linkin Park journey with their new track!
I definitely think you can have it on the same channel. Just mix it up equally. 😊
Midnight sun is okay. You got so much energy and the days will last... but the polar nights are a problem... Not enough sun and a lack of D-vitamin.
The northern lights is seen in the wintertime 99% of the time. And it needs to be a clear sky. So if ever you are traveling here with the aim to see it, come between November - March and go to the far north of Sweden. For instance Kiruna.
and Jonna live 400km south of me, close to the village I was born in
The ice baths are good for you in most cases but if you have heart problems it can be dangerous. When your body hits the water it feels like a thousands of needles and your heartrate spikes it races like WFT but it makes you feel soo alive, it shocks your whole immun system but it also makes it stronger.
try sauna and cold baths, great for body and mind :)
How cold? It can become -30 C, but usually it doesn't become below -20 C, and that's for the northern part of Sweden, in the south it rarely gets below 0 C
But that's OK it's when the wind kicks in that's when it gets nasty.
Look at Lost in Europe he is also in the north of Sweden and has some amazing videos, both are very good at making amazing content.
i dont live as far up in sweden as she does so the darkness in not as extreme here. but i often find myself wondering if the sun is about to raise or if its about to set. the light is quite the same the whole time the sun is up. Dark when you go to work. dark when you get home. I am 34 years old now. And i feel like its effecting me more now then when i was younger. And you can feel the days getting shorter and shorter now in september. BUT, its much easier to get the kids to bed now. Just point outside and tell them its really late now! haha
Jonna for primeminister!
so when are you traveling to sweden?
:)
So you use certain music? then you should open the pandora's box of Sweden =)
Definitely do a separate Channel if you're up to the work and it is advantageous to you. I'll subscribe.😊
The world according to Briggs is a American TH-camrs channel.
I have noticed at least a half dozen channels that TH-cam has unsubscribed me from, including yours.

@@akyhne I've had this happen before and it wasn't due to any problems with my account. They've been doing it to other people as well and it's not the first time this has happened to me. Probably censorship due to the political nature of many of my comments and subscriptions.
@@decolonizeEverywhere I'm quite controversial, not the least with some of my comments. I've never experienced being unsubbed automatically from any channel.
@@akyhne ironically, the last time this happened was 4 years ago.... they also like to take my commenting privileges away for 24 hours at a time when I get all of the Pearl clutchers squealing and crying for their mommies.
@@akyhne but I have gone ahead and done all of that anyway after AT&T had their data breach and everyone's social security number was made public
Jonna could never produce such wonderful videos if she didn't feel it. But this is not only evident in her videos, but also in the beautiful jewelry she designs and makes, in the pictures she paints. But she also has a lot of musical skills; for example, I have never heard the Swedish national anthem sung more beautifully than by her.
Hy Albanian Merchants; it was a good idea for you to present something not related to music, people(like me) really like you guys. You're gonna get new viewers too. keep on truckin cheers
