Really struggling between choosing these and Alpinestars SMX-6 V2 Vented Boots. I plan on doing some track days in the fall once it cools off. Which would you recommend between those two? From what I've researched it seems like these RST have all around better protection for nearly half the price but the Alpines seem to be more comfortable
Great video as always! I just recently learned about this boot I am not a track person but would like this style of boot for everyday riding and protection. Do you think this boot works for everyday riding and off the bike comfort? Second, how do you think these boots compare to Alpinestars SMX 6 V2 they look similar. I wear a size 9 but have not seen a size chart for these boots. Thanks so much for your help.
We have a size chart on the site, a 42 Euro is equal to a size 9 US. This is an excellent sport boot for the street. Comparing this to the Alpinestars SMX6 I would say they are similar but the Astars is a little nicer as it should be given the difference in price. We have a large shipment of these on the way to us now, should be here this month. -Van
Hi again i liked the design of the boots and were only 113 ppunds inc delivery to spain. I am a size nine in all my boots but these would have been better with a 9.5. Anyway i think i will buy another make. Probably bin the rst boots as wouldnt want anyone to have an accident. I have no idea why this is happening but i have to lift my foot off peg at times to make a gear change up or down ???
I own these exact boots, but in Hi-Viz. As with all gears, in this case these boots for me, I had to adjust my shift pedal up so that I can slide my left toe comfortably to shift up. Adjusting the shift pedal doesn't affect the bike from shift gears. Its all about comfort preference.
Dumb question time. Just bought these boots from you guys and love them. First pair of actual sport bike boots. My problem is I cant feel for the shifter anymore with left boot lol. I feel like I have to make a focused effort to upshift, and I have to really bend my ankle forward to get under the shifter (stock rearsets on a ZX10R). Will these boots break in and feel natural for shifting after some time? Thanks man
You will adjust. I can remember way back when I went from riding in tennis shoes to boots feeling the same thing. They will become invisible to you in no time. - Van
I just started wearing these boots and had the same issue. More than once I thought I shifted to the next gear, only to have the engine high rev when I released the clutch.
Going to pick up one of these soon for a first track boot, what do you recommend for a size 11 US. Love the videos btw Van and team. Watch them all the time
No you do get more protection, comfort and feel for sure. Whether or not those things are worth $330 is up to you in the end. Let your budget be the guide with this purchase as you can get a good product either way. - Van
The way I think about it for more expensive brands usually it's a combo. For an extra $330, you are probably getting an extra $50 in quality build/safety, and an extra $280 worth of badge/vanity.
These boots are great. comfortable, affordable, superb quality for less money. Only downside for me is.... I have big calfs. So I can't wear them with my leather pants
To be fair the Alpienestars boots are a little nicer as they should be given the difference in price. IMO the overall protection and feel between the models you mentioned would be pretty similar. With the RST you would for sure be saving some significant money. - Van
Howzit Van! I have really wide feet, how is the fit on these? If they are on the more narrow fit, do you have anything similar to this boot that comes in wide sizes?
Is there any way to slicken up the shifter pad area on top of the toe box? My foot gets stuck under my shift lever on both my bikes, the material is real grippy and it guess it just grips the shifter peg a little too good. Other than that I love them, I think as the soles break in a little more they will be a little more comfortable to move around on the pegs with.
@@sportbiketrackgear I did need to adjust. I adjusted the angle and it helped a lot. I just need to break the boots in a bit more on the soles. Thanks man

I find them to run pretty much true to size for myself at a 12 US. They do offer more width than the Sidi boots do if that helps. If you are an 8.5 US I would suggest giving a size 41 a shot to see where you land. I checked with the return dept and we have not had many exchanges on these boots which would indicate they run pretty true. - Van
There is no reason not to use these on a cruiser. Odds are you just need them to break in a little bit and get used to wearing a proper pair of boots. - Van
I would suggest going with the 42 Euro in this boot. Wear them in the house on the carpet to make sure you are happy with the fit before you take them for a ride. - Van
This boot offers a bit more ankle protection and the Astars offers a touch better quality. If you are looking for a great deal on a solid pair of boots the RST is the way to go IMO. - Van

Sorry to hear you are having this issue. This external hinge design is used on many boots on the market. There are a ton of variables involved like type of rear sets and how you position your feet on the pegs that go into something like this. We do have other boots that do not have any external parts to catch like the Alpinestars Supertech R Boots. - Van
