  • The Connect & Learn sessions are a series of online learning events, planned with the purpose of sharing and spreading improvement work across the North East and North Cumbria health and care system.
Each with a different focus, the Connect & Learns are more than just information-sharing - they are an opportunity for you to connect with like-minded colleagues around a specific topic, to generate ideas, and take forward improvements in your own work, team, or service.
This session on 2 February 2024 saw Dr Kate Ward (Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Newcastle and Gateshead Children and Young People’s Service) and Dr Aisling Martin (Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Trusting Hands Gateshead) present 'Trauma-informed Care for Children and Young People who are considered high risk, high harm and high vulnerability'.
The presentation discusses two newly commissioned trauma-informed services that have been developed in partnership between Cumbria Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Trust, and Newcastle and Gateshead Councils.
These services are vanguard pilots for the Framework for Integrated Care and are part of the NHS Long Term Plan commitment to address the needs of children and young people with Complex Trauma.
During the session, a case study was used and discussed. You can find the details of this here: www.lep.co.uk/...
If you would like to present and share your innovations/improvements across a wider platform, please get in touch with us at: info@boost.org.uk / 01768 639320
