In conversation with Adam Habib and Zeblon Vilakazi: The next 6 months

Professor Adam Habib, the outgoing Vice-Chancellor and Principal congratulates Professor Zeblon Vilakazi, the Vice-Chancellor designate on his appointment. Vilakazi takes up the new position at the helm of the institution from 1 January 2021. They chat about their plans for Wits over the next six months. Vilakazi will focus on the operational management of the University, whilst Habib will focus on stewarding the Centenary Campaign and other externally-focused partnerships and engagements. They touch on the reconfiguration of the senior executive team and some of the temporary appointments that will be made. Habib concludes by expressing his appreciation for the manner in which the competitive appointment process was conducted and encourages the Wits community to work coherently to build a world-class research-intensive institution on the African continent.
