What great plans! I didn’t think about using double gauze for sleepwear, the colour is lovely. Very much looking forward to seeing the yoga/swim wear outfit too ❤
Thanks for showing us your current makes. It makes for a nice vacation to have some new outfits. I like all of them but especially the periwinkle dress. I look forward to seeing your blog post on the changes for the dress. I'm participating in The Sewing Workshop Sew Confident program and this month is a skirt. My goal is to expand and improve my sewing skills. Thank you again for a great video!
Thanks Judy! I love having a few new pieces to enjoy and show off when we travel! Love that you’re working on upping your skills! I’m sure it will be a fun project. Happy sewing!
I really like the periwinkle/lavendar print for the beach dress with the solid contrast. It is going to be lovely on you. I am working on the Willamette Shirt from Hey June patterns using a small striped cotton in blues, coral, and pink, that I bought from Guthrie and Ghani in the UK. G&G also puts out two sewing kits the first Wednesday of each month. One of April's kits is a small cross body purse in a coral and cream cotton jacquard, which I thought would be great for spring and summer. The kit comes with eveything including the hardware. I have sewn plenty of tote bags, but never an actual purse, so I am looking forward to the challenge. Thanks, Rebecca.
So interesting to see your workflow! I'm sewing up a dress for a wedding (in FL!) with a Japanese wrist bag and a matching guayabera for my husband. It's terra cotta colored linen. I'm embroidering the shirt in the front with something like DNA (he's a scientist). And I'm heading out the door now to choose some embellishments for the dress, which is Vogue 1691. The embellishment will go down the seam lines in the front and back. Fun!
Thanks for the video! I love that pj set you are making. I am working on some spring/summer tops. I also need to cut out some linen pants and maybe a long skirt with a cargo pocket on the side? Happy Sewing!
So glad you enjoyed it! I’m working on the pjs as we speak. Linen pants are always perfect for summer and I love the idea of a long skirt with a cargo pocket! Have fun sewing!
I was happy to hear that you sew a lot of swimsuits. some people say to slightly stretch the elastic as you sew it in. I find that it puckers the suit and cuts into me when I put it on. What is your technique? Do you pull the elastic or just sew it in straight? I have bought a lot of swim fabric, but I’m hesitant to dive in again (no pun intended.😉)
I love sewing swimwear! I only stretch my elastic slightly on parts where the suit could possibly gape. When I do the leg hem I use no tension 3/4 of the way around and then add slight tension around the back. Same for near the underarm, but it depends on the suit. Most of the time I sew flat as the suit already has negative ease.
@@SewPomona I 100% agree with what you’re saying. I just discovered you in my feed this morning and I’m definitely subscribing! I was actually just reading your blog about sewing your own swimsuit when I saw your reply. thanks for the quick reply!! Happy sewing!
Love all the colours and the pyjama set.

Thanks Ruth! I’m working on the pjs right now and can’t wait to try them on! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
