    Most of the moves made by both players after the opening, make me feel they are light years ahead of me. Thanks, Mato

    We finally see Mato! I didn't think video was too fast. With You Tube, one can always pause and rewind so "too fast" is irrelevant criticism. Regardless, this is a great video for me because I see this Queen pawn opening a lot.

    great chess, capablanca was a true machine, if he was alive today he would find a way to be a very uncomfortable opponent for out young GMs i'm sure! nice game!

    4:35 how about inbetween move pawn takes on f2 check ?

    • @Watermelon_Man92
      @Watermelon_Man92 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looking at it, that pawn on e3 is pretty strong, especially after knight takes rook. Lasker probably figured that there was no reason to really initiate a trade considering its influence on the game even though taking on f2 would remove one of the king's defensive pawns.

    • @einSteppenwolf
      @einSteppenwolf 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      mar tero
      R×f2 and now if N×e4, then
      Qd8+ Kg7
      Qd4+ and now if Nf6, then
      Q×f6+, because now then rook is on f2, defending the queen.

    Perhaps Qd4, Rxe3 (@4:19) should have been considered.

    o im sure Lasker wasn't devastated by this. the great masters enjoy their fellow chess players' victories too. That's what Tal said.

    The master connected black king & queen in either way (e5/h8) by moving Qc8. Master lasker got it and resigned before!!

  • @tjmmz9843
    @tjmmz9843 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Stockfish 8 (depth 28 or so) agrees it's a very even battle. Both players pick the best move, often. White gets a slight edge only after 15..Qxf6. Black's alternate, Nxf6, is OK even if White does reply dxc5; even better is immediate Bxf3 (as Mato mentioned), a move that Black played later, in agony. Anyway, Lasker recovers and plays tough defense, so that White's edge is always small (+1) and shaky. Until Lasker finally cracks on move 45.

    Mato you said bishop takes bishop on f3, when you should have said bishop takes knight on f3; right before the 3:00 min mark! Take your time Mato! You must have had a hot date waiting on you! Congrats

    Mato, you are so annoyingly fast in your commentary X(
    its like i am listening to you on fast forward. normal comprehension is about 80-100 words per minute. this seems like 120. plus this is chess so go slow!!
    ps - you are the only one i listen to on youtube about chess so i am going to keep watching but would really appreciate if the pace can be reduced. thanks
