We finally see Mato! I didn't think video was too fast. With You Tube, one can always pause and rewind so "too fast" is irrelevant criticism. Regardless, this is a great video for me because I see this Queen pawn opening a lot.
great chess, capablanca was a true machine, if he was alive today he would find a way to be a very uncomfortable opponent for out young GMs i'm sure! nice game!
Looking at it, that pawn on e3 is pretty strong, especially after knight takes rook. Lasker probably figured that there was no reason to really initiate a trade considering its influence on the game even though taking on f2 would remove one of the king's defensive pawns.
Stockfish 8 (depth 28 or so) agrees it's a very even battle. Both players pick the best move, often. White gets a slight edge only after 15..Qxf6. Black's alternate, Nxf6, is OK even if White does reply dxc5; even better is immediate Bxf3 (as Mato mentioned), a move that Black played later, in agony. Anyway, Lasker recovers and plays tough defense, so that White's edge is always small (+1) and shaky. Until Lasker finally cracks on move 45.
Mato you said bishop takes bishop on f3, when you should have said bishop takes knight on f3; right before the 3:00 min mark! Take your time Mato! You must have had a hot date waiting on you! Congrats
Mato, you are so annoyingly fast in your commentary X( its like i am listening to you on fast forward. normal comprehension is about 80-100 words per minute. this seems like 120. plus this is chess so go slow!! ps - you are the only one i listen to on youtube about chess so i am going to keep watching but would really appreciate if the pace can be reduced. thanks
When you trust the quality of Mato's videos so much, you click the like button before it starts.....
Subscribing to Mato should've been considered
And so you played the obvious...
Did you find the subscribe button?
Very interesting move
Eigil Mandrup this move should have been considered earlier
a dubious decision :D
Thank you Mato for this game. I was wishing to see this game! Your videos are just excellent!!! Cheers, Eddy.

i wanna c garry kasparov and capablanca games more,
i loved emanuel games and paul keres too
Thank you for the analysis , Mato.
Most of the moves made by both players after the opening, make me feel they are light years ahead of me. Thanks, Mato
Dang it, Mato! Your hypnotism out of the obvious final mate got me.
Seeing you at the beginning gave me a shock, for in my mind I imagine you with a long beard, Mato. Thanks for the great video
Thank you for your awesome videos. So good to find killa moves :)

Oh, now we're getting into the action.
favourite game so far, thank you mato
Awesome game
What a gripping battle! Good show!

4:35 how about inbetween move pawn takes on f2 check ?

mar tero
R×f2 and now if N×e4, then
Qd8+ Kg7
Qd4+ and now if Nf6, then
Q×f6+, because now then rook is on f2, defending the queen.
Perhaps Qd4, Rxe3 (@4:19) should have been considered.
Epic game, Mato! Excellent analysis! Laker lost; we don't hear that everyday. ☺
o im sure Lasker wasn't devastated by this. the great masters enjoy their fellow chess players' victories too. That's what Tal said.
Just curios... how much time did each player have in this move?
3:40
O-O?
Dadda Purple
Then Black haa perpetual check.
ein Steppenwolf aa
Finally Lasker lost, every day watching Lasker win was boring! 😂
no spoilers please... just kidding
terrific game
Why Capablanca was never interested in taking the pawn of a7?
Capablanca, Tal and Fischer gave the chess meaning!!!
Khalil Al-Maasali keres, nehmedztovic its better
norman indra putra I love most of his games all respect to him
Paul Morphy?
Real Epic game... thanks Mato :)
and now lasker ist enough, from now on games of capa please
2:00 Reminds me of Fischer's Game 6.
Aleph Null Qa3 pin and bishop a6 idea.. Definitely reminiscent of Fisher v Spassy game 6
Great
Incredible game!
Minor correction at 2:58:
bishop takes KNIGHT
(not BxB)
Lasker said:i've met too many chess players and one genius
I told him not to mention it.......
Tal?
The Machine
You've got such a cool voice...
In this video you were too fast MATO!
Saurabh xD agree. Too many "back to our game" lol. Still good video though
Use the power of pause, put the PGN into a chess engine and study for yourself
Great video but the mouse clicking noises are so horrible.
*raises arms in the air. There was a fire fight!!
The master connected black king & queen in either way (e5/h8) by moving Qc8. Master lasker got it and resigned before!!

You need a new mouse, Mato. The clicking sound is so disturbing
I like it too gg but maybe the no sound mouse is the stronger move
No game seems interesting till you explain it
Thank you
whoa, cappa goes pawn grabbing
Petra Marbun XD

Mato - please get a quieter mouse!!!
bishop takes on F3?
Ha! classic Schmosby!
👍

You can slow the video down with the settings button.
A lil too fast Mato
Oh no, Mato! This was too superficial, and when you say "and indeed, white is better" it needs be obvious or explained - here it was neither
First!
