Dear sir plz what is interlock & tripping difference between interlock & trip

Interlocks are like a sequence of operations for example if you want to start the boiler feed pump the compressor pressure should be built up according to the requirements at the control valve if it is pneumatically operated. you cant turn a PA fan unless you turn the ID fan. interlocks are meant to protect the plant and equipment so we won't start any equipment accidentally.
Trips are also for safety purposes. For example, let's take the turbine. if the steam pressure and temp are less or very high than operating pressure the turbine will strip protecting the equipment, and if the main lube oil pressure drops then also turbine can trip, excessive vibrations can cause the trip thus saving the equipment.
