This video helped so much for Spartan Palmerton Z Wall! I got it no problem. Kept hearing in my head "back hand, back foot, lead hand, lead foot!"

Thank you for posting this video - Insightful as always! Haven’t touched a spartan z wall in 3 years (failed miserably the first time) but nailed it yesterday in the Palm Beaches sprint! Right lead / the pattern you guys recommend for the win!!

As always great video guys. For the taller racers I do a similar method but skip one hand and foot hold, leaving an unused hand and foot between the grips i am using. Then I move back hand to the vacant grip, back foot to the vacant grip, front hand to the next grip, front foot to the next grip. It helps keep me closer to the wall as well since you can’t grab the top of the wall and the hand grips are close to mid abs if I’m not leaving the vacant grip. In DC at the sprint one side of the black walls were facing the sun and by mid day people were dropping off and failing not because they couldn’t complete it but because it was burning their hands.

I know this is an old video.. but I want to thank you guys for this! I nailed z wall at Killington for the first time in 6 years after watching this. Hand-hand-foot-foot all the way

Followed your suggestions the last race I did. Keeping hips close to the wall really helped. Also went the same direction you guys do, leading with the right hand. Great advice. Thanks for uploading this video

I like to inspect my favorite lane and see where the hand holds are around the corner. That way I'm not guessing as I turn each corner and fall off.

      James B Great idea!

Also. Not all lanes are created equal. There are always a couple of lanes with the pegs facing in a flat position. These make it easier to traverse.

Great tip! I failed the Z Wall at my Super this past weekend because I was fumbling for a handhold around the corner. My foot slipped and I fell off. I’ll be patient and inspect my Z wall more thoroughly next time so it won’t happen again. I HATE burpees!!
