Great Vid!! The Z Wall has always been one of my favorite (and easiest) obstacles in the race. I've always loved to climb. So I smile big when I run up to this one. I tried the "walking" method (#1) but that failed me once (the only time I ever failed the Z Wall). I prefer the "hopping" method (#2) and I find that easier for me. Blooper Reel - "I meant to do that" lol
Obstacle Activist yeah right, with this I always end up thinking ‘I hope they maximize the corners they are cutting and not just cheating obstacles, but avoiding some entirely, cutting out whole legs of the race, so they can really get a sweet fast finish time and feel great about it, like they beat the system or something haha.’ And also, love your content! You give great tips
@@joelpaszkowski5684 at the end of the day that's on them and they know that they cheated and are no better for it. and thank you for the compliment, much appreciated. more coming VERY soon
Re: "... cheating ..." - Is it really cheating if they are in a non-competitive Open Wave?? Or are they simply not completing the obstacle correctly?? I remember when I took martial arts. I participated in the Forms Competition. It was there that I learned the difference between doing the forms (in class and to pass my test) and doing the forms in competition. I wasn't "cheating" when I didn't perform the form accurately but in competition that same inaccuracy would be counted against me. So I would hope that if or when they (the so called Open Wave "cheaters") decide to move up to a competitive wave (AG) that they will also learn that proper "form" is expected (not always judged - but that a different story).
I wish I had watched this before yesterday. You're videos are very helpful and I'm looking forward to applying your tips to the next one.
For which side you pick you should also mention that (esp. in morning heats) the sun plays a huge part in wet or dry obstacles
You're definitely right!
You make great OCR video tutorials. I have watched and learned a lot from your Spartan ones (on better technique). thank you!
Thank you!
You should try CEU z-wall. There is more difficult when you have full wall and only three smaller holds on each side 😆
What's CEU?
@@obstacleactivist9741 Central Europe Region 😆 Just type in TH-cam "Peter Ziska Dolni Morava" and move to last obstacle before finnish 😆
Ohhh ok yeah I got you now. Yeah the European courses are much more challenging and I wish they had more technical things here in the US

Do whichever methods works for you the best! And yes, totally meant to do that 😂😂
Thanks for posting …. I completed the DC Stadium today and had to do burpees 😏
I was there, too! Those weighted burpees at the end...oy...
Gotta love the ram burpees!
Very helpful!
Blooper is awesome
Haha thank you 😂
2:10 anyone else spot the guy in the background cheating it so hard
Yeah unfortunately it happens. It's an open wave at this point so people kinds run their own race and don't care as much

Derek, now throw some mud and rain on it!
Same techniques used, doesn't make a difference. Just go slower and more controlled
