As with everyone else here, I am grateful for your efforts. Thank you for crediting your sources where possible, and leaving things as they are when your estimations are out; the combination of your humility and skill is what makes this channel so unique. Thank you
Thank you so so much for making this tutorial! I remembered reading this book a long time ago and wondering how this particular piece worked. You made it easy to understand and follow 😊
Thank you for sharing your amazing techniques - l’ve spent a couple of very happy all consuming hours making this pop up this afternoon, with great results …. Well after the third attempt ! 😅
Hello , Nice to see you back ! . just wanted to share based on where you stick first tab it will change the direction if box pointing to inwards or outward , Thanks for sharing wonderful techniques!!
Thank you, mr. Birmingham, for yet another inspiring tutorial. I know how I'll spend my sunday! I really hope to find out why that distance from the spine should be 3 cm. Does anybody already know why?
After filming the video I realised - The distance from the spine is 3 cm because the width of the box is 6 cm. To fold flat the piece pushing the base of the box has to move 6 - 3 on the left of the spine and 3 more on the right of the spine.
Is there anywhere we can find templates for the nets of the designs? I couldn't really see the measurements to create one myself for my students. Thanks in advance!
Sorry to hear that it's not clear. There are no templates. You can see the whole shape at 2.03 and 3.33 - I think the numbers for the various dimensions all appear quite clear at 2.11, 2.52, and 3.04 - for the numbers referring to the gluing order it's probably just best to follow the tutorial. Hope this helps.
I agree that this is quite intriguing. I love that it came from "The Little Prince" book (the second-most published book in the world, supposedly just behind the Bible, in over 300 languages). I can't wait to experiment making it!
It took me so long to figure out why it wasn’t folding in the right areas when i closed the page and then i realised i stuck the pushing strip on the wrong side 💀
@@thepop-upchannel4919 the babadook is a horror movie featuring a haunted pop up book, it got so popular that they released a physical pop up book for fans. Turns out the spine is different than i remember, lol sorry for wasting your time, love the channel its been really helpful during college! heres a video of the Babadook pop up book th-cam.com/video/xuQMEffnHew/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the link. - Good to hear that you've found the channel useful. - As for why the spines of the two books look the same - I'm sorry to say I don't know - I really know very little about book binding. I'd always just assumed that once you've got all the pages of the book gathered into a solid "block" you could then add whatever sort of cover and spine you wanted.

Glad you got there in the end! It does usually take a few goes to get a coplex one working nicely.
why does the little prince spine look like the babadook spine
"babadook"??? Not sure what you're referring to.

can you use indonesian subtitle? Please🙏
Kami berencana untuk membuat video yang menjelaskan cara mendapatkan subtitle dalam banyak bahasa.
This one was hard. I made another before which opened from top but it was glued to spine. this is off page which is interesting.
