To make wine you need barrels. Less well-known than the profession of winegrower, that of cooper requires know-how as much as passion and attention.
A keg is not just a container for wine. The birth of a barrel is the culmination of a long process.

The art of cooperage is a well-established tradition in the Gascony region. It begins with the selection of the best oaks, followed by a long period of ripening of the staves-a board obtained by cutting a block of wood, and which is used to shape each of the longitudinal pieces of wood assembled to form the body of a barrel. This process extends, as we have seen, over three several years. Then come the cutting and calibrating, the assembly of the staves (longitudinal parts) by hand ...: so many steps carried out by hand, long and meticulous!
