We’re not even RVing (full time) yet, and I realize this is one of the best RV videos I’ve watched. The title is absolutely correct, “things nobody is talking about.” Solid gold. Thanks!
Thank you for your open and honest rundown of regular life. It is not easy to maintain strong family connections. It takes an open heart and willingness to better yourself. I applaud you for working hard to make your family life the best that it can be! Don’t ever stop!
I am so very happy that I met and was engaged in two weeks and married 3 months later to the best thing in my life! That was 1977. Still going strong. Two children and now 4 grandchildren. My wife is my best friend.
@@Mexicobeanpole Tomorrow is big day! Having her 65th birthday party. Outdoor dining, mostly vaccinated. Been mostly stuck at home for over a year. Will be good for her.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard of someone with our story! Met on Memorial Day, married on Labor Day. 39 years ago, and best decision ever. We have learned a lot, including how to travel well together
My wife and I have been watching a lot of your videos. We have 3 kids and just bought our first RV. We really appreciate your honesty. It was very refreshing and inspiring! After watching all of these families on TH-cam y’all just got our first subscription!
Thank you for the total honesty you present, and opening up about how life is not always what we see in the edited social media. At 63 and 65 Respectively my wife and I don't have all the answers either. Each day is an opportunity to react well or poorly to situations, and just hope that the good outweighs the bad.
I have been watching many TH-cam channels about full time Rving to know it’s not for us. I’m not even sure about part time RVing. My husband does not have the patience needed for the breakdowns and day to day maintenance. Yes, it looks like a lot of fun but there is definitely a reality side. I will just continue to live vicariously through al of you - the good, the bad and the ugly. Great video!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great advice here! My wife & I were 32 & 33 when we got married (1st time for both of us/25 yrs.). We have never had a fight or raised our voices at each other. Because we can agree to disagree and visit a topic again depending on its importance! Not that we've never been short with each other, but we keep each other in check and we don't put unrealistic expectations on the other person!
Yes. People need to take responsibility and not try to live in a fantasy world. I mean.....Cramped up in a small space.????? Hello!!!! Are people really this ignorant? Especially ones in 30's or older. OMG. Pathetic. Sad.
I love how you talked about saying, I am sorry to your kids and they we are all still learning. I had a mom that did that for me and I have done that for my kids. It amazes me how many patent are unwilling to be honest and fair with their children 🥰
So relate to all you are saying. Wise words, but that’s life. We are all moving and changing, becoming the best version of the self God created us to be. We are all learning on the journey. The important thing is to make it.
I'm really impressed how you and your husband worked on your relationship. You both must really love each other because it takes tons of humility to change
I was looking for some tips & advice on RV living. I found some odds n ends that were helpful. But, let me tell you, when I came across your video. I wasn't sure what to expect. but as I watched, I realized you broke it ALL the way down!!!!!! You told me & probably some others that needed to hear this the TRUTH!!!! Girl, you betta SAY THAT!!!! ALL my thumbs are UP!!! Some of what you said is obvious at least to someone like me in middle age but it still NEEDED to be SAID!!! Thanks for saying it. Hey, Thank you so much for your transpanrency, your honesty and willlingness to put it out there!!!!! After reviewing the truth of the matter, I'm still not decided on the RV life, but at least with your helpful input, I can put things into perspective and review my options realistically. Thanks again!!!!!!
I appreciate your honesty! So true, we are always learning and growing - whether it be at home or on the road RVing. It's important to first respect and be good to yourself in order to have genuine healthy relationships with others.
I think this is very true of life in general! Thank you for telling the truth of it. Changing my location isn't going to change my disfunction. Dosen't matter if it's interpersonal, internal, financial, etc. As you remind us wherever we go we are. Problems and all
Super information!! Thank you so much for taking the time to 'get real'. Hubby and I are planning on going full time RV in a couple years and I am currently trying to do as much research and be as prepared as I can to make it a easier. You have given me some wonderful ideas on how to prepare on a more personal level than just the 'what to buy', 'where to go' and 'how to do it' issues. I look forward to watching all your videos to learn from your wealth of knowledge. Thanks again!
Wise words for sure. Having a healthy marriage and great family is a life long work in progress. So glad you have recognized these things early on...lucky kids/ lucky family! You are building not only great memories, but also healthy human beings. Thanks! This was right on target! (Jane in SC)
Oh lord, I just stumbled on this video just curious about full time RV’n. I found so much more than I expected. Thank you, from one mum to another. Your gracious advice was appreciated, even without the darn RV. Still very good family advice 💛
Love your honesty and perspective. My husband and I are going to try this coming January after he retires to first be snowbirds. We have issues in our marriage that we try to work on but fail too often! He works a lot and I’m hoping and praying that after he retires his stress level will be eased and that will help but thank you for your honesty that we still will have issues and will need to work through them!
What an honest video! We are not full time RV people we do it for family trips and just started in 2016. When we first started I think we had an argument every trip out...trying to get into campsites are not always easy and backing up into a tiny space (well that's just a fight waiting lol) it is so refreshing to see someone being honest about this and reminding people that these video's are edited...safe travels.
Thank you for sharing the raw truth. I thought it was so important, that it was for both of us to watch before we embark on our journey. The truth you shared will bring attention to so many people, and make them aware of "how they speak to each other and their tone, and how they 'calmly react to adversity'. The way I look at it is this: life has a series of challenges punctuated by moments of joy, thrills, beauty and incredible moments. We all live for those moments, however they are not there all the time. So build a very strong foundation to weather you through until you get to the 'next moment of unfettered joy'.
So true! I can’t imagine traveling for a long time with my family let alone a quick getaway. I’m way too laid back and my husband is way too aggressive and I’m just talking about packing! 😂 It’s awesome that you are addressing this issue with everyone. Experience is really the best teacher 💙💙
Preach! I appreciate your honest comments about how RV life won't fix your relationship problems and how expensive it is to live the RV life. Presently, we are stationary in an area that we love, but when we traveled, I can attest that planning, set-up, parking and packing tested our relationship to the max.
WOW!!! This is an eye-opener. Not one of these issues you speak of are an issue for us...3 years of full-time RVing, and going strong. Had no idea that people are so immature..
Jumped to this one from your latest one about the vanlifer tragedy. Thanks for the honesty. This should be required watching prior to hitting the road.
WELL! You are refreshing! Thank you so very much for stepping out and talking about all of this. You have given some excellent advice and I hope folks appreciate it. I do!
Hey, I fully agree with you. All depend on how each couple adapt to the new life together on the RV. Thanks for sharing this topic which not to many like to hear or talk about it. Safe travels!
It always looks so glamorous, at least on established channels. I'm happy to see more channels of buying old, affordable RV, fix it up, and deal with the breakdowns as they happen.
@@GratefulGlamper Oh, I think the others are real, except it's only real for those creating TH-cam content, which can add significantly to their monthly/yearly budgets and their reality changes from getting what they can afford, to getting brand new rigs every year. In real life, many real people who full time live in the same rig for decades. This means they have to learn to maintain their older rig and keep it working and looking good.
Never easy things to talk, appreciate the things you said. Always important to remember no ones life is ever perfect and we all have to continue to grow as parents, spouses, friends and people. Thanks for sharing and giving all of us the reminder.
Best video chat ever. Info people really really need to hear. Everyone lives life and problems follow you when you move or rv unless you fix or work on them first.
I completely agree with you. When we get in our RV we go from a 3,000 sq ft home to a 400 sq ft class A diesel pusher. There is no separation. We are on top of each other. Fortunately my wife and I have been together for 30 years now and have worked through our issues. I hate to say it, but a lot of it finally came together when we retired. I took the first step and made the effort to make things better between us. Also Dave Ramsey is frigging awesome! I was doing a lot of the right things, but I knew something was missing. Dave filled in the missing pieces. I was able to retire at 53 and now we are able to enjoy life. Thank you for this video. It is nice to see someone who is really "keeping things honest" as a few channels like to claim they are. As a matter of fact after we retired we even bought 10 copies of Dave's Financial Peace University on DVD's and gave them away to friends. John Commuta is another really good source for financial advice too. I was introduced to John before I heard about Dave Ramsey.
We’ll done! One of the best videos I’ve seen about the realities of RV life! Thank you for your openness on these very personal topics…relevant for many many of us to hear! I also value the balance you present about the otherwise glamorized RV life. I so appreciate your time on this video!
got yourself a new sub, very informative and eye opening. It all makes sense, if you weren't; happy/successful/money savvy before RV life, RV life will exaggerate those issues in many situations. Thanks for the REAL info!
I watched this video, and will say thank you for your honesty. I would love to live the RV life, one day, and your video has helped me to understand more of the life of it and myself... Thank you!
Pretty amazing honesty and words of wisdom. I'm only taking me on my journey and I can be pretty hard to get along with sometimes 😬 I admire those that can be on close quarters with three other people, two cats, and a dog 😳 That shows your level work you've both done on the marriage. I'm grateful for your honesty guidance. Thank you!!
That was awesome... I don’t RV but listening to what you where saying relates to anyone in whatever they are choosing to do. Def will read the parenting book with my husband. Knowledge is power...thank you for being real...
Very well done. And don’t be too hard on yourselves. You are willing to work on your situations. And remember, heat for some of us makes life more difficult.
Thank you for being so open about your living this rv life. Looking forward to seeing you growing health as a family I know you all are going to get their soon.😊
We just got our RV, and we're not planning to do a full-time RV living just yet. But this is one of the best & most open videos I’ve watched about the reality of RV living. Thank you!
Love this! So very true! We’ve been camping a long time (part time) and you’re spot on. It’s fun but only if you’re fully aware of the misconceptions and go into it like anything else. Trial, error, mistakes, & breakdowns are inevitable (vehicular and emotional lol). Love your videos :)
I’ve heard all these topics before, but never to this level. Love it. Also makes me think the rv boom this year is going to take a heavy tapering off next year too. New subscriber here now.
There are plenty of RV life/Van life cloggers on TH-cam that frequently remind people that this lifestyle is not some glamorous fix it for your life. I would hope that the people in today’s society don’t think running away from their issues will be a fix-all! And as with wherever one lives there’s going to be up times, down times, maintainance to be done, etc. I will give you that I too have watched enough of the kind of you tubers you speak of . It makes a person want to reach out and give them a reality check and see if they actually believe the dream that they are trying to sell!
Absolutely correct! We are now married 38 years and via therapy, 2 teenage daughters that almost put us and our marriage 6 feet under. Much WORK went into marriage to make it past "love". Respect for feelings and realize you are not always going to hear what you want to. That being said, we did a lot of camping in the mid 90's with our girls and now have such great memories (1989 24ft, Class A). Monies and life's stresses ended those trips & we sold it. Now, fast forward, we have a 29 ft. Class C and we are having the greatest experience and bond so much more with longer conversations and really enjoy each other. It took years of work and character building. Maybe a little wisdom. Could not have lived in the motorhome when we were in our 30's and 40's. Can't wait to spend next week with our 32 year old daughter and boyfriend in FL. They are traveling to their condo and we will stay in our RV at a local campground. Other daughter & grandkids ... we will go camping with them in the summer up North-East. As long as we are healthy, not much bothers us now.
Good thoughts. I love the resources you listed and just trying to keep it real. Most of campers families I watch show their lives in what appears to be how life really is.
Love this so much! Thank you for your honesty. This is honestly something I have been thinking about lately and have been trying to better myself always. 💗
Your right haven't heard a video like this. Thanks for being real, married 37 years here and 3 children, still in love, still challenges but love is kind love is patient...
I am about to pull the plug and go on the road. My wife and I were going to start in 2018, but life got in the way. Since then I lost her to cancer and I know she wants me to keep the dream alive, and I think I am at the magical point I can pull it off. I have been watching your videos for a couple weeks, and I have two comments. Number 1, you don't waste my time, your scripting is good and you hit your points. Number 2, your content is relevant to me as I consider this path. My choice will be a travel trailer, small since it's only me, but virtually all your content is an opportunity to learn in a light hearted way. So, keep up the great content, Hope our paths cross down the road! Bravo Zulu
With all the RV videos I’ve watched, yours JUST popped into my feed. I’ve always been confused as to why RVer’s don’t tell both sides of the story. Thanks for sharing!!
Great video! Your advice applies to living in general. not just RV travel. Admitting you have made a mistake and apologizing to your children is one of the best things you can do for them. They can see you making mistakes, but if you pretend to be perfect and don't acknowledge them, they learn not to trust you.
I have thought a few times over the past 10 years that I wish I owned a RV dealership cause the hype of RVing has been particularly exaggerated by the RV manufacturing industry. And folks have gone crazy buying campers up to large coaches. At some point this frenzy may slow down camper sales and RV sales might go down and people may start having a hard time selling any campers or coaches that they might have on the used market. Most of all your comment about family getting stronger or a marriage getting stronger I didn’t think about until you just posted it and I bet a lot of people that have gotten into the full-time end of it with families privately did it for that reason and things could actually be worse now and maybe those families are not together ... great topic first time I’ve seen your video Tom Jones
🙂 Thanks for doing this video...I’m sure it was a hard one to do but it’s important for people to understand they aren’t leaving their lives when they hit the road - it’s going with them...watching/hearing yourself on video is powerful too...love your families people! Thanks
I'm not positive, but this may be the 1st video I've seen of yours. Awesome tip. I love the realness. You seem to be good at giving advice. You'd probably make a great friend.

Thank you for putting it all out there! This is very much appreciated!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!
Thanks for kind words - happy travels!
Great video, thanks for keeping it real!
Thanks for watching!
That was awesome... I don’t RV but listening to what you where saying relates to anyone in whatever they are choosing to do. Def will read the parenting book with my husband. Knowledge is power...thank you for being real...
Thanks for the kind words and for watching.
Thank You for your honesty. Love you guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very well done. And don’t be too hard on yourselves. You are willing to work on your situations. And remember, heat for some of us makes life more difficult.
Very true, thank you for watching!
Thank you for being so open about your living this rv life. Looking forward to seeing you growing health as a family I know you all are going to get their soon.😊
Thanks!
Thank you for your honesty. This was a wonderful video.
Thanks for watching.
We just got our RV, and we're not planning to do a full-time RV living just yet. But this is one of the best & most open videos I’ve watched about the reality of RV living. Thank you!
Thanks for watching
I’ve been working on myself and my family relationships for about a year now. Thank you!!
Thanks for watching
This is beautiful and so very true. ❤️
Thanks so much! 😂
Great topic!! This needed to be put out there!! I am sure this will help many folks out.
Thanks so much!
I'm lucky I haven't heard anyone glamerising it yet .But I'm watching the list of things you have to know before rv living
100% accurate. Well said. May you have many safe travels. And, with a winning attitude like that... you simply cannot lose.
Thank you!
I Love That You Guys Shared This Thank You So Much. God Bless You and Your Family.
Awesome! Thanks for checking us out!
So refreshing , wise and honest- thank you
Thanks for watching!
True statements:
You take you with you, where ever you go, and
You never see a UHaul behind a Hearst
100 %
thank you for making this video.... food for thought, for sure
👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for sharing this awesome video.
Everyone isn’t this transparent & thoughtful.❤️
So true! Thanks for sharing!
WOW ... true statements ... Americans can truly express their heart ... very genuine indeed ... absolutely love it ... many thanks
Thanks for the kind comment. 💙
Good thoughts. I love the resources you listed and just trying to keep it real. Most of campers families I watch show their lives in what appears to be how life really is.
We agree that most of the larger channels try to keep it real. Thanks for watching.
Love this so much! Thank you for your honesty. This is honestly something I have been thinking about lately and have been trying to better myself always. 💗
Thanks for the kind comment! 💜
Bravo Zulu
Thanks so much and best wishes!
With all the RV videos I’ve watched, yours JUST popped into my feed. I’ve always been confused as to why RVer’s don’t tell both sides of the story. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Your advice applies to living in general. not just RV travel. Admitting you have made a mistake and apologizing to your children is one of the best things you can do for them. They can see you making mistakes, but if you pretend to be perfect and don't acknowledge them, they learn not to trust you.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the thoughtful comment and for checking us out.
Great video! Great advice from someone who knows the ropes....
Thanks 🙏🏻
10:00 Yay for the Dave Ramsey tip! 100% agree! Dave Ramsey's financial program helped us so much!
So true. Great video!
Thank you!
🙂 Thanks for doing this video...I’m sure it was a hard one to do but it’s important for people to understand they aren’t leaving their lives when they hit the road - it’s going with them...watching/hearing yourself on video is powerful too...love your families people! Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to watch. 😍
What an AWESOME video!! Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
What an honest, interesting, insightful and refreshing change to all the standard RV videos I’ve been watching. Good advice. Nice job.
Thank you and thanks for watching.
It’s scary that there are people who believe that anything in life is always ideal.
I've seen a lot of these RV videos ... this one is quite good. Well done!
Thank you!
I'm not positive, but this may be the 1st video I've seen of yours.
Awesome tip. I love the realness.
You seem to be good at giving advice.
You'd probably make a great friend.
Thanks! 💙
Well said and thank you for sharing perspective ❤❤❤
