    Hello (jean-marie in France), Concerning the adjustment of the anti-pollution screw at 5 minutes 30 seconds of your video, it is indicated in the technical reviews that this screw is factory-set and not to touch it. changed all of them and I don't have the settings, you saved my life by mentioning the 2-turn setting ..
    I have not yet reassembled, I am waiting for the delivery of the intake pipes ...

    When you take out the pilot jets (size 50, next to the main jet), there should be another, smaller jet mounted in the same recess, behind it. This would also need to be removed for cleaning.

    I am having difficulty finding carb parts for my 79 GS550. O-ring kit, float valves and jets. Can you please post your source and part numbers? Very well done videos. Big fan.

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. Your 79 will have different carbs than mine (assuming you're in the U.S.). Slide carbs in 78, CVs in 79. So my part numbers won't help you. I had good luck with cruzinimage.net, Jets-R-Us and eBay.

    I know I’m very late to the video. But I’m just wondering is it just the carb shoes that hold the carbs in place. I’ve inherited an 81 that has been disassembled without any regard towards labelling for the rebuild. Lucky me.
    I have been binge watching your videos tho and they are an amazing encyclopaedia of knowledge on the 550.

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! The carbs are held in place by the insulators on both sides (airbox and intakes to cylinder head), but when air box is removed for pod filters then only from insulators hold them. They are capable of that though.

      @@UrbanMonkTV thanks for the reply. That’s good news so. I’m not missing as many parts as I thought. He stripped the frame and threw everything into a bucket every nut and bolt just thrown lose. And then dumped all the brake parts. You’ll get plenty of views from me trying to piece it back together. Thanks for the great quality content 👌🏻

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rebius1 If you find you've got a bunch of bolts and nuts and don't know exactly where they go, I often use the parts diagrams on suzukipartshouse.com to find location and size. The item description will say something like "Bolt A 8x120" followed by a part number. That would be an 8mm diameter bolt 120mm long. A cheap machinists caliper will help you determine which goes where in a hurry. Hope that helps!

    Hi! I love your videos! On my carbs the fuel screw was screwed in tight in all carbs. Do you know how to adjust these? My manual just say dont touch this screw😅

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! I would start with all them two full turns out from fully seated. Then adjust each from there as need to achieve a good mixture at idle. Remember they only affect idle. Getting the right mixture is easier with a colortune, but you can also check spark plug color to see how it's burning.

    So after you preset your fuel screws at 2.5 turns out how did that run on the bike? Did you find yourself adjusting further?

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It runs good at that setting but I did need to adjust air screws further during carb syncing. Bike runs really good now but is difficult to start cold. Gets too much air. I choke it further by squishing the Uni-Filters. Works good. Thanks for watching!

    sorry I keep posting more comments instead of just one but my carbs look completely different then yours. as I said an '81 but you have to hook up the throttle cable and choke cable before you set the carbs into place. but your's has I'm gonna call it a stack on top like a chimney I don't have that at all. when I say completely different even the internals is different. nothing looks the same. maybe they figured something out in 3 years lol IDK but anyway thanks for the video

    You said that the one part was the air screw but I think it’s the fuel screw I think the air screw on carbs that have then instead of a fuel screw, anyway I believe the air screw is flat not tapered. Anyway doesn’t really matter but I don’t understand why it has a spring your screwing it it’s not going to have spring. Btw I have an 81 gs550e I got it on a trade with ‘88 plates on it.
