Great information.. I see you travelled in July 2023. How was the weather in Almaty n Astana? I know it is summer n will be hot. But was it like beyond 35 degree n unbearable ?
Astana seemed hotter because there were no trees (they are all newly planted and not grown) so there was no place to cool off. Almaty has lots of big trees which cools the city better. Both have different places to cool off in summer

Not really near by, most go to Lake Burabay (Borovoe). There are some swimming pools around, the most famous one at Khan Shatyr. It does cool down at night.
@@shaliniingle8276Kapchagai lake is a 1h drive from Almaty, there should be buses as well, there used to be a really cheap train, but I think it is not working anymore. Also Pervomaiskie Prudy is a small lake super accessible from Almaty.

it cost 5000 tenge, to go both ways, only 3000 tenge one way. The rides you pay individually.
