Hi, Kathy! This tutorial doesn't explain the stitches I used to make the rectangles because it's not my pattern and I don't want to step on any copyright toes. This tutorial is simply how you can take two rectangles made up of any stitches and sew them together to make a poncho. I did find the pattern I used on some I Love This Yarn brand yarn from Hobby Lobby, so you might be able to find the pattern on their website. Hope that helps.
Melody Kishimoto simply make the rectangles bigger. I don't know exact sizing, but I would venture to say a 12x24 rectangle for 4-8. I do a 15x30 for adults.
This one fits 2-4T, so you'd be covered! Or they would be. If you want to make it a little bigger, just add an inch or two to the width and length of the rectangles. Check the description of the video for the size of the rectangles
Hi, Ellie! Because this pattern is not mine, I didn’t want to give too much information, which is why i just went with measurements. That way it doesn’t matter your gauge or yarn type that you use when you make one!
By far the nicest and easiest instructions yet. Thank you. Some video's are so complex.
So made it for my seven yr old granddaughter so easy. Thinking about fringe too. Thank you❤
Agreed! This was short and simple unlike other 50 minute videos
Perfect demonstration. Exactly what I'm looking for not to create for the children but also for adults. Namely ME!
The best and I would say easiest way to do a poncho for anyone hands down!! Thanks again for sharing your ideas and time with us 💕
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you for your straight forward tutorial. This is exactly what I'm looking for!
Glad to help! Thank-you
Just wanted to say "Thank you" for your help with up sizing your pattern. I was able to do 8-12 years and Adult. Thanks again!
Love your tutorial. Easy and not complicated instructions. Thank you. Xo
I loved my poncho, how can I modify for different sizes?
Thank you for the simple demonstration on piecing together the panels. I was unable to find a tutorial anywhere.
You are welcome!
Thank you so much for this video. I hope you post more tutorials; you make it so easy to follow along. Sincerely from Penticton, British Columbia 🇨🇦

it's Painted Canyon found at Hobby Lobby, their I Love This Yarn line. Thank-you!! It's definitely a fan favorite.
Did you use a variegated yarn?
Did you chain one at the beginning of every row?
Yes I did. For this pattern you begin every row with a ch1, sc
Made this for my daughter. Now I realize how tiny she is. It is swallowing her. I wish I could share the photo
Awwww, i bet she looks adorable, though! The good thing is, it will fit her for a loooooong time, hahaha. You can send it to me on ig @thatcozyfox
thanks so much that is so very helpful.
Such a cute Poncho. Thanks for your tips. Can you tell me what yarn you used? Thanks again
It is I Love This Yarn by Hobby Lobby, can't remember the blend name!
It's called painted canyon.
Thanks, Kathy!
hermoso trabajo gracias
I’m lost... you say you single crochet and then you chain one after each single crochet and what did you alternate each row with?

What size to make this poncho smaller for a 6 month baby , 9 month baby or 1 year old. I want to make three of them for 3 little girls! Thanks
I wish that I could help you!! I have only made 2T and larger. I would say possibly 8x15 for 1 year and 9 month, and maybe 6x11 for 6 month??
what yarn did you use
This is I Love This Yarn found at hobby lobby. The colorway is something like canyon ridges?
How can you make it for a larger size?
Melody Kishimoto simply make the rectangles bigger. I don't know exact sizing, but I would venture to say a 12x24 rectangle for 4-8. I do a 15x30 for adults.
did you say sc and chain one. is the the entire pattern for the project
That's what I used for what is in the video! However this pattern is good for any swatch of those dimensions.
Hi! Just wondering what material this yarn is! Thanks! :)
Hi there! This is an acrylic yarn, I believe it's called something like Canyon Ridges. It's a colorway by Hobby Lobby- I Love This Yarn
Oh, it's called Painted Canyon
Love your work, is this for a toddler? And how long should it be for a toddler 3T or 4T. Thank you

How would I size down a bit? My son is in an 18 month size of would this work for him as well?
I think this size would work for him, but to size down 9x18 or 8x16 should work! I'm not an expert on sizing, though!
@@thatcozyfox thank you very much. I'm making his sisters each one and gonna try it on him see what I need to adjust
Hi could u please repeat the age of the child this is for, my grand_daughter is age 2 to 3 years
That’s a good age for it. It’s just a general toddler size. Since ponchos are meant to be loose, sizing isn’t as big of a deal
It’s pretty, but you don’t give any info on how many stitches you should made for the size . For a beginner Would like more info !
Hi, Ellie! Because this pattern is not mine, I didn’t want to give too much information, which is why i just went with measurements. That way it doesn’t matter your gauge or yarn type that you use when you make one!
What about a hood....
Good question. I still have never made a poncho with a hood!
