See for everyone slagging him and this documentary , what are you doing with your life? Are you doing what you love? Are you fighting to get back to it? Slaney is a funny guy etc but he’s been through horrendous injuries and I can’t say how bad his mental health got but we know it was bad , he’s trying to get back to the game he loves , he’s already spoken loads about how shy he can be but he’s putting this out there to be seen. He obviously has a good knowledge of the game and loves it, it’s not a joke to him. Si had a decent career and has built open goal up and is doing amazing but yet ppl want to slag what he wears how he speaks and I bet many of those ppl also talk about getting rid of the stigma of mental health problems etc , honestly ppl like that should be ashamed but they won’t be. To Simon, keep doing what your doing and of course I include kev and Andy in that and slaney you really do have a lot of genuine support behind you man! Keep pushing!

When Open Goal started I wasn’t sure about Slaney but the more I watched him the better and better he came across. Just a normal lad who has talent, was a bit daft and had some bad luck. This was an absolutely brilliant watch and hope he gets the satisfaction and mental benefits by getting back to playing. Good Luck 👏🏻

I dived head first like most and thought this was a publicity stunt how wrong was I, listening to the injuries he has went through was horrible and the talk with his Mum and sister would have brought a tear to a glass eye! Some amount of effort he’s put in just to get to the stage he’s at the now and that can only be applauded even if he doesn’t kick a ball again 👏 all the best for the season ahead slaney and I hope it’s a very successful one ❤️

I’ve not played football in a couple of years and just started training again last week, shockingly unfit. Watching this is so motivational, well in for putting your body through it and I hope you get playing again 💪

Really enjoyed this , I played another sport at fairly good level and it didn’t work out and I couldn’t bear the sight of that sport for the best part of ten years . I really hope slaney does well and can find the peace that he’s looking for ❤️ So much of what slaney says really resonates with me 👍 all the best Slaney 👌👌

As much as people wanna slate the move, you can't knock the effort he's put in. If anyone has come back from a long injury or time out, you'll appreciate how hard it can be to get back to match fitness.

We all make mistakes but not all of us try to rectify them. Give it your best shot, but more importantly,,, just be yourself young man coz that’s enough. ✌️

Anyway, well done, Paul, you're fit enough now to take part in pre-season and suffer with the rest of the lads in the squad, Si will see to that :) . Remember what Andy said, everyone's rooting for you and Faddy's advice too, which was even if your first few games don't go brilliantly, stick with it.

Old toryglen football pitches ..remeber playing there with (rangers boys club) so many years ago now.. when old piches n running track round it years back .. looks decent wee set up over there now but .. few 3g pitches and big indoor pitch .. well done Slaney bhoy .. keep up should be proud self buddy .. got stop bring self down but everything is (disaster) with you ... hope goes well with Broomhill team .. godbless wee man
