Hey Charles, my dad and I had gone out with you on a tarpon trip 2 years ago when we had hooked all of those massive tarpon. Super cool to finally find you on TH-cam.

GOOD VID TO SHOW THE BASIC TECHNIQUE ON HOW TO THROW A CASTNET EVERYONE TRHOWS THEM A LITTLE DIFFERNTLY BUT IF YOU CAN THROW A 12 FOOTER THEN YOU CAN THROW ANYTHING. I USUALLY HOLD SOME IN MY MOUTH ON THE BIGGER NETS BUT ITS JUST EASIER FOR ME. GREAT CONTENT BRO😎👍👍

Can the pilchard net be used for cigars and threadfins offshore?

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Absolutely. I would get the 1.6lbs per sq ft for your offshore 10’ or 12’ will work just make sure it is heavy

Tekéze TV I need a 10 foot net that’s for all around use inshore and offshore what size mesh for a 10foot and how many pounds per foot?

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

3/8in mesh and 1.4 lbs per sq ft is a great all around net

Did he say "it's only 10 foot"? I couldn't throw a 6 footer I once owned. I bet he remembers how to tie knots too. These people drive me crazy. I say just tip the guy that you buy bait from. I will say I'm glad I never netted a manatee after seeing this. The instructions never said not to choke the loop around your wrist. What a show off. Throws giant nets, knows how to tie knots, saves capsized vessels....LOL.

Worst brand net I’ve ever owned, worst value for the money and the only net I’ve ever used that even comes close is a bass pro brand net but it was a fraction of the price and far better value.. A cheap fitec from Walmart performs better at a small fraction of the cost of Betts. I wish Betts had more reasonable prices because Nets of such low quality would be ideal for throwing over oysters for finger mullet and pinfish, they will tear up no matter what with regular use even if you’re throwing over nothing but sand at the beach. Anyone who knows of a lower price brand net that performs as poorly as Betts let me know I need a new net for throwing near oysters and submerged junk. I prefer to use Betts nets for this but they’re prices are just way too high for something that doesn’t even perform as well as a Walmart net.
