Dell really doesn't want you to upgrade the PC they sold you... as well as majority of other OEMs. Cool video, but that's just so much you can upgrade with resorting to hacks with PSU or trying to get more powerful one with a similar connector from eBay or Amazon.
Anyone swapped out the PSU? I need to upgrade the stock 180W PSU to 300W-ish so I can use a GTX 1050Ti, but I hear the MOBO PSU pin layout is different from ATX PSUs etc 😐

On the Inspiron 3910 with 180 watt power supply, can you upgrade to a i7 12700 CPU which has a base TDP (PL1) of 65 watts and a max turbo TDP (PL2) of 180 watts? If this is not possible, what would be the fastest CPU to install? Would a 12600 with Base TDP of 65 watts and a Maximum Turbo Power of 117 watts work on the Inspiron 3910 with a 180 watt power supply?

why would Dell put a shroud that leads into the back of the case while in the bottom there's a PSU that exhaust the hot air onto the back.. the hot air that PSU dump rise up and gets sucked by the cpu cooler
In practise, only a small bit of heat gets sucked in. It will still be better than to have the cpu cooler use the warm in-case air with no duct.

You can just buy that PC with Pentium CPU and upgrade the CPU to i3-12100 it only cost around over $100 and then you can sell that Pentium CPU to some one else.

Hi, yes you can change thermal paste arctic mx4 on the video card and you have to add rear system fan to make PC run cooler and remove fan shroud plastic black peace.
