i wanted to get my hands on a hs-1 just so i can make it a dedicated two player alternating cab with Ghosts n Goblins as the marquee title. GnG is arguable the first game of its kind I ever played when i was about 6
I'm impressed how great these look and the HDMI out is a huge plus. I agree with you that they should have made the marquee swappable since it has 2 games.
You can buy it now...but where is the Ghouls n' Ghosts one? I grew up with all three and while I absolutely hated the first game, the Genesis port of Ghouls n' Ghosts was absolute fire especially in 1989 when I got my copy. That is what made me a huge fan and while the arcade version of Ghouls n' Ghosts looked better it was so close that we all thought it was arcade perfect (it's not). The third game was also great but I felt the Super Ghouls n' Ghosts didn't carry the same weight as the other two because it was never an arcade release. I really hated that it has quite a bit of slowdown but thankfully, that was really fixed on the Japanese Sega Saturn port. Great review! If I can find the Ghouls n' Ghosts can I'll buy it in a second!
The mini or micro gaming cabinet looks great, love the game, maybe a port or Bluetooth for an actual size controller for TV play would be nice, also, nice presentation on the product
I watch this and can't help but compare it to Arcade1up's disappointing cabs: the attention to detail, the PRICE POINT, not taking themselves too seriously, not plastering their logo on every inch. I really hope they're sitting somewhere and taking notes on New Wave's direction and product execution because this is how it's done.
I wonder if the extra quarters are a subtle nod to the difficulty of the game. Like "Here. You're going to need all of these." lol This is a really cool offering from NWT. I love the game, even if I don't last more than three seconds. lol
Nice little console. FYI, that is not a CRT, its’s still just an LCD screen. What they are calling “CRT FX” is just a simulation of look and feel (simulated scan lines, etc.) of an old TV screen. It’s still just an LCD with some effects.
Yes, I understand it’s not a CRT, but they refer to CRT FX as their “crt technology” - but maybe the way I said it in the video was confusing. I was also comparing to their original filter screen in Missile Command, which a lot of people complained about :)

The ability to play on the TV is cool. I miss having my sf partycade that had ghosts and goblins on it. I liked playing it on that for some reason.
I actually installed the Legacy PCBA in my SF2 partycade - same romsets just more on the Legacy. Love that version too, it's a very clean version!
