Oh, I'm so glad it was an accident. I was worried people were being mean to you in the comments after how vulnerable you were. I'm so sorry for all the loss you've had to go through 💜 I lost a cousin I was very close to in a car accident when she was only nineteen, and the impact it had on our whole extended family can't be overstated. My grandmother also passed away shortly afterwards, and I think it was from the stress and heartbreak.
Yoongi said about the meaning of the scar in the trilogy that it's meant to show that after the initial incident, trauma is something that's self-inflicted, our own minds and bodies trapping us in it. I think that's also why the characters in Daechwita and Haegeum follow this cyclical rise and fall.

This is such an incredibly beautiful raw song. Many Armys cant even watch it. I am so sorry for it hitting you like this and for your loss.
He was in an accident but he didnt even tell the other members till about 2015/2016 the truth they thought he fell down the stairs. Everything he mentioned in the song really happened to him and its a song about processing pain and feeling trapped in your brain and begging it to stop. That life inflicts scars on us, we inflict scars on ourselves. Its really helped me understand why we need to process our trauma. In his tour we realized the stage is the Amagydala stage and in the final concert right before he left for Military Service he had the door on stage and finally he stood up and walked through it smiling. This after crying his eyes out performing this song (and 2 others that are as emotional). He could barely make it through that set it was the most raw emotion I have EVEr seen an artist show on stage and he never stopped he pushed through each song, Army sang LOUDLY with him when he would just grab the mike sobbing but he kept pushing. And he did it. Snooze, Dear my Friend, and then Amagydala were gut wrenching to watch but wow. I am so proud of him.
Sending you so much support and just know we get it.

I'm a Yoongi bias and this song is one of the many reasons I'm reminded why. Yoongi pours his heart out through his music and it hits me right in the feels because I can relate a lot to what he's talking about. My own depression is currently saying hello but I'm beyond thankful that BTS have shown through their music that it's okay to not be okay. My mental health doesn't define me, it's nothing to be ashamed of and I'll get better one day at a time.

Hello, Tammy! First, I want to say a huge thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your own experiences, I know it is not the easiest thing to do. I remember when this video released, I cried my heart out. Not just because I saw him finally unpacking the trauma he held onto, but in a way, it felt like I was also getting to do that. You’ll notice BTS cover heavy subject matter; they amplify the voices of those who need to be heard and seen. It’s why they’ve been my biggest comfort since 2015.
We have a saying, “BTS find you when you need them the most.” It’s been such a pleasure watching your journey so far and I can’t wait to see where it goes!
If you’d like, you can react to yoongi’s song ‘Snooze’ featuring Woosung from The Rose. This song is the last song on his D-DAY album, and by far one of my favorites he’s released. I think the lyrics may give you some strength 💜

There is not video for the track Snooze from is D Day album but when you listen to it, as I am sure you will, he actually wrote this for other artists and idols who are going through a hard time, hoping it comforts them. Knowing this as you listen will make you love him even more, if that is possible. He uses his personal experiences to help others and is not afraid to show it. He is probably the bravest musician I know.💜

You will be glad Youngi made it through the white door at the very end of his very last concert before he went into the army. I never know what to call Suga as at various times he has said he killed off Min Yoongi. He has also said that he no longer needs Agust D because he doesn't have that burning anger anymore. BTS seem to call him Yoongi and also Suga. So?????

Thanks for sharing your stories with us, Tammy. It must have been so hard for you to overcome those memories.
When I first got into BTS, I really liked Suga's cute little smile and wondered why he sometimes looked lethargic or didn't laugh as much as the others. And when I heard his songs, I was so shocked and sad to learn what he was going through.
He mentioned that before every performance and schedule (which basically means every day), he went to the hospital to get shots to reduce the pain. And on some days, after getting off stage, he couldn't even move his shoulder with pain. Can't even imagine how he managed to endure that kind of pain for 8 years.. And considering that this was just one of the many things he was going through... Even though it took a long time for him, it's truly admirable and inspiring to see how he's really been able to free himself, and the beautiful soul he's maintained and embraced after all those troubles.
D-Day was a liberation era for him, and he really shone last year. I'm happy to have been there with him and shared those memories in this era.
And I'm curious to see how Suga, who has entered a whole new phase of his life, will continue to grow as a person with more happiness and laughters.

I can't count the number of times I watched this mv, but I cried each time.
One thing that I find fascinating with Yoongi is that he's not good to express his emotions socially (even if he gets better at it now) but he's (for me) the best when it comes to share emotions through music. He pours his soul and heart in it, he's so raw and true...

I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am right there with you, I have been battling anxiety and depression for years. My traumas also come from the loss of loved ones. Back in 2018 I found BTS. We ARMYs have a saying "BTS finds us when we need them the most". Most BTS songs have deep, meaningful lyrics that helped me through some tough times. Yoongi is my favorite songwriter out of the 7 members because his lyrics are very raw and I relate to them so much. It feels like Yoongi has no filter he just pours whatever is in his heart and head in the lyrics and I am so thankful to him and BTS for that. There are several songs in BTS and Yoongi discography that hit me hard and makes me feel seen, makes me feel like I am not alone.
I want however give you a trigger warning for Yoongi's song "The Last". It is one of my favorite songs of his, but it IS very raw and emotional. TRIGGER WARNING: he shares more of his trauma and struggles with self-harm/suicide thoughts, social anxiety, depression in this song.
Yoongi has also some very raw and emotional live performances where he cried and poured his hart out.
BTS and specially Yoongi write songs that show that they also go through these horrible feelings. That is ok not to be ok, because nothing, not even bad things, last forever.
I hope you will continue to improve in your mental health and I hope BTS and Yoongi's music will give you as much comfort as it did to me and to so many armys out there. Much love to you Tammy.
EDIT: I see a lot of people recommending "Snooze" which is a song Yoongi wrote to give strengh to other young artists. I agree this is a great one. I recommend this link: th-cam.com/video/zCNqdvR9e_w/w-d-xo.html

in case there was confusion, both of suga's parents are still alive but like mentioned in this story we know suga's mother had heart problems when he was born (he also mentions it in a song moving on) so suga lived withs his grandmother (-parents?) for a while when he was young and suga's father had cancer, and suga himself had a shoulder injury because of an accident during his delivery job that he suffered from for years until he got surgery in 2020

The bad things that the amygdala processes (emotional memory) end up being a protective memory: If you were stung by a bee, the amygdala gives you the sensation of fear because of the memory of the bad symptoms you felt and this fear protects you against another sting. ...
The end of the video is frustrating and we only understand it after seeing the end of the live show in Seoul, when he leaves through that same door, showing us how he has overcome his difficult past.
Check "Snooze", he is already experienced and gives strength to those just starting out on the journey, providing support and strengthening dreams that, at first, seem impossible for those just starting out.😢
Cerebral Amydala looks like an almond and that's why we see flashes of him sitting there eating almonds, super calm, watching the whole process happen.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Loosing a family member or a dear friend is a pain that never goes away. Having music in my life has really helped me through my own losses. Yoongi's lyrics are so powerful, he is truly a masterful lyricist. The guts it take to put something so personal and painful on paper for everyone to see and then go out and perform it infront of thousands of people. He is just remarkable. This song in particular is very hard to watch and I think it strikes a chord in a lot of people as we all have things we walk around with and memories we would rather erase. I think him finally being able to talk about it will help others open up about their own trauma and seek help if they need it.
He also have a way of giving comfort through his lyrics. If you havn't heard "Snooze" (ft. Ryuichi Sakamoto & Woosung (from The Rose), or "Life goes on" from his latest album (D-Day) you should check them out. I think you will really like them. 💜

You're so beautifully authentic, you were brave for sharing your story and I'm sure it will help a lot of people to hear it. Hope you had some healing in feeling affirmed or understood, it was hard to see you getting triggered and emotional and not being able to give you a hug! So sorry to hear about the things you mentioned going through. Regarding panic attacks you mentioned, you should read everything The Medical Medium says about it, there is a physical component, it's related to vagus nerve, and I'm guessing his protocol would include detoxing from heavy metals, he gives a smoothie recipe combining 5 ingredients (wild blueberries you can get frozen from Walmart, cilantro, barley grass juice extract powder, Atlantic dulse kelp and Hawaiian spirulina) that synergize powerfully that detox heavy metals. Even just 3 of the 5 are effective, cilantro and barley grass juice extract powder synergize together powerfully in particular. And his recommendation to all is to abstain from tuna (way too high in mercury) but definitely in your situation. I believe I read there's a viral component as well? If so then another, that he advises the general population to abstain from, eggs, would apply as well. I believe I read that he said to avoid for vagus nerve related issues such as dizziness, is to abstain from MSG, I wonder if would also be recommended for other vagus nerve issues. Initially I had searched with words medical medium and panic attacks. Then I did with words vagus nerve medical medium. A link came up Vagus Nerve and Parsley. Apparently parsley or cilantro juice will help strengthen vagus nerve. I am guessing another important thing would be his liquid b12 recommendation many are deficient, but this supplement greatly improves mood issues such as depression or anxiety and believe vagus nerve issues as well. He says to get one which is a combination adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin not the kind that has cyanocobalamin. Vimergy has the combination he recommends, I found a cheaper one on Amazon by global health. I hope you can research his invaluable info and can try to do some of his recommendations. He's all about preventing unnecessary suffering, too many people not getting the information they need to heal and living with things chronically and spending money and never getting better. I hope you are feeling better by the time you get this. Take care! 💜

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Such a good song. Pls pause as much as u want. I love hearing your thoughts. This is my fav song from his album. My 2nd fav is Snooze. I love all the songs though. But these for some reason made me feel more. When i heard this for the 1st time i smiled. This MV speaks his truth. I am glad Suga talked about it more. I think the more u speak about it the easier it gets as the years pass. I am sorry he went through so much. I am sad he did not reach the door. I think this song is tricky. I think the MV enhanced the song a lot for me. Good visuals. Loved the feels. I am an empath so i take it in. Suga was sharing his trauma, his painful memories right. I was not aware his mom had heart surgery or that his dad battled cancer. I wonder if his mom's surgery occurred in the same year as everything else. We know Suga survived it was a miracle. Yoongi dealt with so much pain for so long. We were all so glad he finally had the shoulder surgery. They are so strong all of them. They are our strength and we theirs. Hugs tight Tammy. I was finally able to cry for him at last on my 2nd rewatch with Anitra. My therapist said I am not afraid of death. I faced my death already dealing with cancer. So his truth was not that shocking to me. But still I wanted to cry for him because he can't. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army 💟

People with PTSD have the same issues with their amygdala. Not being able to process emotion and trauma properly. People who suffer with PTSD in multiple forms would understand this mv straight off. It's the whole process of nightmares vs flashbacks. Flashbacks being more of a process for PTSD sufferers. I have Complex PTSD and hypervigilance so i understand this mv with all its little nuances. I respect Yoongi so much that his been able to be so open with these issues.

I think the trilogy is about slowly recovering from trauma... the Amygdala MV explains the key to understanding the other two MVs, in that it shows that the scar is a mark of a character that is acting on their trauma - Yoongi has been slowly healing over the years. In Daechwita (D-2), he replaced "blond Agust D" from the first mixtape (he was blond for the MVs he released in 2016), who was a king who ruled out of anger... in Haegeum, a new Yoongi who DOESN'T have a scar, he's healed from his trauma - or at least has learned how to have it not continue to hurt him any more by self-inflicting wounds in response to it - and Haegeum Yoongi replaces D-2 Yoongi whose scar is old but still there, and is ruling in a civil manner but perhaps too caught up in the flexing aspect (the fancy suit, the slick image). I think Haegeum is the end on a note of Yoongi being free, and living the way he wants. Amygdala is needed to explain that key though - what Yoongi had to go through mentally to get to that point.
The fact that he's sharing this with us, to me, means that he's reached a healthy place where he feels strong and recovered enough to share the story. Even if he can't put a firm happy ending on it, because you can't do that with mental struggles - in the latest episode of Suchwita, he even tells RM that he gets low every 2-3 years, but has learned how to handle it better as time has passed, and now RM thinks he's the most positive person on the team. Really, Yoongi is absolutely amazing. I love him so much and he deserves all the hugs in the world.

His trying to save himself, but failed so he just accepted the other side of him whole heartedly and later they both find healing,. MIN YOONGI /SUGA/AGUST D was indeed a genius! Thank you guys as always! 🤗💜💜💜💜

I really appreciate the interpretation of "green Suga/almond-eating Suga" because I honestly didn't know how to interpret that character and what Carlos said makes SO MUCH SENSE and also gives me closure for the MV, when I didn't feel like it had much closure before. I always felt like Yoongi storyboarded these MVs the way he did for a reason - that they can touch on both his personal journey, but also the problems with the industry/society that he sees. I also loved Carlos' comment about Yoongi putting himself in both the hero and villain role, as a commentary that he's also part of/a product of the society/industry that he's criticizing, but that just means he knows exactly what he's talking about. Anyway, great discussion!

He couldn't open the door because you can't open the door. Once you have experienced trauma, it stays with you forever. You can't "save" yourself from it, you can manage it, and you can give it less power over you but in the end, it is a part of us, you can't cut it out. I think that moment when he slides down the door is that moment of acceptance.

During the tour the stage was basically that room, it had rain and thunder in it, fire too, the stage getting smaller and smaller as the pieces of flooring disappeared. Until finally at the last show Yoongi opened that door and left the place of sorrow, like literally there was a door on stage and everything. When i tell you army's BAWLED like babies that day...its an understatement 😅

He has mentioned about his mother's heart surgery in Moving On, which is a song from their 2015 album, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt 1.

Do you know they tested tears. They found the bad hormones that cause you to create more pain receptors and are not healthy. It is good to cry regularly.

I love Suga and I love that people appreciate his music but you started with the hardest songs and I just wanted to tell you to stop. Maybe you weren't prepared to see it because of your situation and that's okay, it has taken him 10 years to reflect what he feels and even then it is still difficult for him. This is the hardest side of BTS's music, the rest won't be so difficult, I promise you 💜

If you haven't yet, I STRONGLY suggest you react to Magic Shop. There's no mv. Just live perf with englisg subs. That song was made for Army. To me and I thnk to a lot of Armys, Magic Shop is therapy. Ever since I became an Army in 2020, it has been my go-to song when I feel really down. I promise it's really good! Borahae! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

100% magic shop, the live version is just absolutely beautiful. I can't get enough of it. I get emotional not just because of the lyrics but just how beautiful they sound in that song
