There are many excellent renditions od this most beautiful aria. Quite a lot of singers even nail the high F which Juan Diego Florez has never done. However, what strikes me whenever I listen to JDF is extraordinary, noble purity and simplicity of rendition, faultless taste in combining such elements as phrasing, tempo, dynamic differentiation, emotion. His every performance is an example of perfect musicality and harmony magnified by the beauty of his voice.
Totally agree with you. I prefer Florez for my favourite composer, Bellini, because his siging is as delicate as is Bellini's belcanto. And with Machaidze, he makes Puritani into a wonder of music and love...
Why was he not performing at the MET every single evening? I discovered his name by chance. Why is the young man of such talent, such voice and such looks is not being retained by the MET for the most performances?

Flores, con il timbro "pecorella" da bambina cattiva e' insopportabile. Come Arturo poi non ci siamo. C'e' di meglio.
