INCREDIBLE trailer for a legend who's story will shock a lot of people.. in a good way. He had one of the most historically significant journeys in the history of the Americas.

He sings until 68. Then its Elvis voice. Because his voice was then deeper than Austin can go.

Finally! A movie befitting THE KING ELVIS PRESLEY? Let's hope so. He certainly deserves it. Can't wait to see if the movie lives up to the legend. His momma "the way you sing is God given so there can't be nothing wrong with it!" Touche Mrs Presley Touche

Elvis' life story is as unique as his talent. In a time of segregation, Elvis was blurring the lines between whites and blacks; and, because of that, he faced a lot of criticism and even death threats throughout his career.

If you're interested in Elvis' life behind the image, there are tons of interviews with and about him online as well as many documentaries. Here are a few you could check out or react to: (1) Elvis and the Black Community: Dispelling the Myths (this is an article that also includes videoclips of people who knew him); (2) Elvis: Return to Tupelo (54:02) (this details his life from birth through the beginning of his career); (3) Elvis Presley - Live TV Phone Interview (1956) (8:39); (4) Myrna Smith remembers Elvis Presley Part 1 (2:36) (one of Elvis' back-up singers); (5) Cissy Houston talks about Elvis Presley and The Sweet Inspirations (3:40); (6) She sang with Elvis (4:08) and (7) Elvis' Favorite Singer (3:34). (6) and (7) are interviews with Estelle Brown who was a member of The Sweet Inspirations.

I was in Tupelo, MS for a business trip a few years ago. Went to Elvis's childhood home and I'll tell you this: he was DIRT POOR. Their house was as big as my bedroom (not very big). They used to play under the house in the summer to keep cool. Was really cool seeing his incredibly poor beginnings, to the life he would eventually live, the exact opposite. Dream big. You never know.

The greatest singer that ever lived 3 things he had his beautiful handsome face his name and most of all his incredible powerful voice some of his songs cut deep in my heart 💔led zeppelin John Lennon jimmy Hendrix Elton John Cher and many many more Saw him in concert BB King saw him in concert many movie stars saw him if I can dream was for MLK and JK James Brown an Elvis song at Elvis home Christian music James said they were brother they loved each other yes we all know 73 concert 1:5 billion people saw him in the world today 2 5 billion people there are a couple of singers and groups that are incredible! Oh yeah. I was there. Our parents, our schools, our churches told us not to watch him. Said he was evil, the church said he was the devil. But us teens didn't listen. We loved him, there was no one like him. They would only show him waist up when he was on TV in the beginning till Ed Sullivan had him on his show and that changed everything. There will never be another Elvis. Watch his funeral. His mother died at 42 yrs old also

Could you react to Elvis, " If I Can Dream " 1968 Come Back Special.....the one with Elvis in a WHITE SUIT ! I grew up loving everything about him, so I have a few more request here. " American Trilogy " is a very touching performance in 1973, Aloha From Hawaii Concert. From that same Concert, his performance of " What Now My Love ", showcases his vocal range. These are just a few songs , and Welcome to the Elvis Family Munroe.

This is going to be the most authentic movie about Elvis, because his ex-wife Priscilla Presley, and his daughter Lisa Marie Presley had input on the film and approved of it. You should react to some of Lisa Marie Presley music videos, she looks like her dad. And has the talent to sing, with her own style. A song called Lights Out. The official video.

Back in August of 1956 Elvis did six shows in two days. He was told by a Juvenile Court Judge that he was to limit his movements. They had filmed his shows and were not happy about that. So Elvis moved only his finger (no, not the middle one) and still caused excitement. He mentioned this on his 1968 Comeback Special.

I hope that they do something on the June 1956 Charlotte Observer interview, the 1956 and 1957 WDIA Goodwill Revue, the 1956 Tri-state fair, and the Louie Robinson's interview with Elvis "the truth about that Elvis Presley rumor." (Jet Magazine August 01 1957). Baz Luhrmann's interview with Sam Bell was good. Some important characters like Rufus Thomas or Ernest Withers (the one who took the photos at the WDIA Goodwill Revue. In addition, they have Arthur big boy Crudup they should have Lester Melrose (the manager that kept his royalties). They need to have the interviews, it destroys that rumor and it shows him giving admiration and recognition to those that inspired him. My opinion. The Jet magazine "The truth about that Elvis Presley rumor." (Jet Magazine August 1957) interview also shows how great of a journalist Louie Robinson was by his investigation into the real story of Elvis.

    * * * Missing from this movie is his Country Music Roots. Rock & Roll is not just R&B. Elvis fused Country with Blues and his own brand of Rock & Roll was born. Even R&B changed after elvis came on the scene.
Also missing is the fact that Elvis biggest influence was not R&B it was Pop Ballad singers like Dean Martin & Bing Crosby. He did not set out to be an R&B singer, nor was he.
Even Gospel music, which the trailer shows, there were other influences beside those in the community. At age 14, he met JD SUMNER (of the Stamps Gospel Quartet), which he came to see during an all-nigh hymn sing in Memphis. JD was a big influence on him, and later joined his band!

They said he would cause juvenile delinquency and corrupt the morals of teenage girls. When he was 21 in 1956, and people saw him on the Ed Sullivan shows, or Milton Berle show, Steve Allen’s show or his appearances on the Dorsey Bros show, the kids and teens loved him. However since rock and roll was new, and his hairstyle, clothes and moves were different than the norm, some adults were outraged. Those were the days, when all cuss words were banned on TV, and Married couples on sitcoms slept in separate bed. At that time, older singers and the critics didn’t think Elvis was a good singer and was just a fad. He proved them wrong, when he started doing ballads and gospel songs and showed his range.

You should watch Elvis Presley & The Black Community - That Echo Will Never Die th-cam.com/video/xd1pXw1DmsA/w-d-xo.html. You will see some of the reactions from parts of white USA - and what his black contemporaries had to say (they were more accepting)

  • @karenstrong8887
    @karenstrong8887 2 ปีที่แล้ว

He was only allowed to be filmed from the waist up on TV but he learned those moves in a black Baptist Church in Tupelo Mississippi when he was a child. They called him a white N word and smashed his records because it wasn’t popular in the 50’s and 60’s for a white man to stand up and say everyone is equal. That didn’t stop him. Elvis was love, light and a gift. Col. Tom Parker took 50% of his earnings and never let him be the person he wanted to be. He wasn’t a Colonel, his name wasn’t Tom Parker and he was an illegal immigrant who saw an easy way to make money.
I do love Baz Lurhman because he really investigates everything himself before he makes a movie. He is Australian and ours. You would probably be amazed at how much American talent is Australian.

Susan, it will be filled with historical lies and fabrications...especially, it will not show he had 9 medical issues for which he took prescription drugs. It will not show he died from a heart attack caused by valsavar maneuver.
