The old Epping station was demolished because it needs a new design. South Morang was the extension and between Epping and South Morang, Is an 3km extra extension.

Hi Daniel, Yes, X-trapolis run on Cragieburn lines as Shuttles. They usually run at night.

Saw 2 Hitachi's near Epping. You should go to that place! 1 was in the Metro livery. But 1 has nothing. Or only has none stickers. Didn't notice that one.

Wow, really? Almost like a decade ago wasn't that far off and good quality cameras were a pretty common thing.

A lot of stupid Melbourne people think the 4D train was not a success "because it was double-decker". Absolute nonsense. It had severe mechanical and software problems. Melbourne desperately needs double-decker trains, but refuses to be seen to be copying Sydney. Especially since Melbourne trains have only 6 cars, while Sydney's have 8.

I have been watching these videos with a lot of interest, I have seen what Perth has Sydney and Brisbane as well. We in Adelaide have to put up with a very run down system. Our on again off again Electrification makes this state a laughing stock of the nation.

But at least youse are getting brand new state of the art electric trains, unlike us in Melbourne which keeps ordering X'tramps which use suspension technology from the 1920's. Also at least youse aren't spending all of your money on a road tunnel which everyone knows will be a dud and suck away funding for transport projects for the next decade or so.

Ha Xtraps are great compared to the majority of the fleet particularly the EDI refurbished Comengs which break down almost every week.

That's not neccerily Metro Trains fault, it's the stupid government who are responsible for making sure the infrastructure is in good working order and that new trains are brought in to supplement the fleet and replace old ones. Metro trains just runs the network on behalf of the government. It's not up to them to do the governments job.
