You could use a 30 Cent very simple LM386 Audio Amp can be found in every corner of a technicians box.The additional fans are undersized and can not cool the unit enough. You could use a type of blower fan found usually in certain graphic cards.
That is very very cool, but you need to have a HDD built in for it to be useful for the newer games as a lot of them require disk 2 (6-7GB worth) to be installed in order to play.

the negative thing about the lack of a hard drive it that some games now require it but you can always buy a xbox 360 slim hard drive and use a usb transfer cable for pc hard drives to make the memory space bigger and the best part is that it runs through an external powersource so if you don't want to attach it you don't need to.

Why not use a inverter on the analog connector for audio u could have made it use a head phone jack instead of forcing a usb hdd which only can do 20gb tops instead of 250gb of storage. And as for other flexibility I would have loved to seen this of one of these laptops rgh modded as well.

Just like about every computer I could use an Xbox Controller if I want to, connect it to my TV if I want to, I also have Mod Support so when I buy a game I also have TONS of FREE Mods (Never heard of a Mod you pay for) that (sometimes) transform it to a whole NEW game, or even change things like say an 1800's game to a Star Wars version, or a World War 2 Version. I looked it up, Xbox 360's range from 99 to 500 dollars. Besides no matter how cheap an Xbox is the PC has discounts every day, plus the developers get more, you also get mods. You also have pretty much every feature on the Xbox 360 on the PC. Infact it was on the PC before it.
I have a concern about cooling with this project. The 90mm fan (which covered the entire heat-sink) was removed and replaced with what looks like 2 30mm fans that only cover one side of the heat-sink. Considering the reputation the XBox 360 has for overheating and de-soldering the graphics chip (essentially what happens with the red ring of death) that rings alarm bells in my mind. How long have you tested this build with graphically demanding games for? Personally I would be more interested in making a Wii U portable because you would have space from the smaller motherboard to include a battery pack and turn it into a true portable device.
Slim Xbox 360s dont overheat.That problem was solved on the Jasper model (late 2008 model) also this guy is a pro, this isnt his first 360 laptop. When he is putting in the two fans you can read on the bottom that the big fan on the Xbox doesnt work full power all the time but the two smaller fans do, also its doesnt matter if the fan is on the side of the heatsink what matters is it draws the hot air out of the unit.
Firstly the guy, while clearly cleaver and knowledgeable in electronics, is not a pro. His intro states that he was a graphics designer who picked up electronics as a hobby. Secondly, my concerns are valid because he is reducing the cooling capabilities of the unit well below the manufacturers specifications. Weather it overheats or not in its standard packaging is not really the point.

If you took out the optical drive couldn't you stick in an Xbox 360 hard drive, and make it slimmer? Or is the power draw of the hard drive greater than the optical drive.
one issue you should not take out the hard drive because if you move it when your playing a game it will scratch it but if you play installed from xbox live games your all good

This would need a battery. You can just add Gaems screen to this and would have almost the same portability. If this came with a battery that last a 3-4 hours while gaming online, this would be a keeper.

Well the hard drives and storage are something really important imo when it comes for stationary consoles. That should be preserved when making a portable version as well, otherwise it's not worth it.

Cloud storage looks to me like it's a project designed to remove people's right to own the game in the form of data. I hope cloud never takes off until they make sure that people keep the option (in no tight or obscure way) to have the data installed.
He left out a lot of the confusing parts of the build. I would like to know how he got the ribbon cable from the LCD to connect to the xbox's video??? Its not like the ribbon cable can just plug into it.
Xbox 360 has an annoying thing where the DVD drive and the motherboard are 'paired'. The motherboard will only use the DVD drive it shipped with (without having to reverse engineer + reprogram the drive).

Although that is a pretty awesome build, You should have hooked it up to turn off as soon as you closed the lide and turned on as soon as you opened it. Therefore you don't accidentally leave it on and you wouldn't have to use the power button.

If you took out the optical drive couldn't you stick in an Xbox 360 hard drive, and make it slimmer? Or is the power draw of the hard drive greater than the optical drive.
looks nice, but would the 2 little fans cool the cpu unit effecient enough? i wouldnt count on it honoustly unless you change the cpu cooler too

one issue you should not take out the hard drive because if you move it when your playing a game it will scratch it but if you play installed from xbox live games your all good

with USB , you could plug in an external hard drive formatted for the 360 to use .
This would need a battery. You can just add Gaems screen to this and would have almost the same portability. If this came with a battery that last a 3-4 hours while gaming online, this would be a keeper.

2012 physical hard drive for game storage seemed out of date. 2017 Xbox one x games are at lease 100gb each and people are using more hard drives to store games on
Well the hard drives and storage are something really important imo when it comes for stationary consoles. That should be preserved when making a portable version as well, otherwise it's not worth it.
Where can I find hinges like these for the screen? I'm not entirely sure what to search for. I've searched for weighted hinges, but mostly door and gate hinges show up. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

I have a question about the different Xboxes. I own a Xbox 360 arcade after 2010 and a Xbox 360 e. I cant decide on which one i should use for my laptop. what is the internal differences like size of board and how they have made it smaller. Thank you
you should make an arcade cabinet laptop so it has the arcade buttons in place of a keyboard and an attachment to connect a joystick
Cloud storage looks to me like it's a project designed to remove people's right to own the game in the form of data. I hope cloud never takes off until they make sure that people keep the option (in no tight or obscure way) to have the data installed.

He left out a lot of the confusing parts of the build. I would like to know how he got the ribbon cable from the LCD to connect to the xbox's video??? Its not like the ribbon cable can just plug into it.
I loved it, but if you replaced the dvd drive with a slim one it could be smaller and you could possibly fit a ssd/battery
Xbox 360 has an annoying thing where the DVD drive and the motherboard are 'paired'. The motherboard will only use the DVD drive it shipped with (without having to reverse engineer + reprogram the drive).

alot of oppurtunitys are brought up when you think about a laptop xbox and you should really consider manufacturing stuff such as this

For my 360 slim I can use a thumb drive instead of playing games? I don't want to do it if you need to hack it. Also is it usb 1/2/3?
Although that is a pretty awesome build, You should have hooked it up to turn off as soon as you closed the lide and turned on as soon as you opened it. Therefore you don't accidentally leave it on and you wouldn't have to use the power button.
If the items were supplied could you replicate and come up with a price to build for a customer like myself? I know this is from 2012 but I'm very much interested.
