      um qr code is basically the same as barcode... You trust barcode when scanning items at the shop, so I don't see any differences here.

      @@doloresumbridge2531 the difference is QR codes are going to be accessing your bank account. Barcodes only tell the cash register what the product is, helps with inventory management etc. QR codes may access information about your contacts, your calls, your location history, you don't know what they are going to access. You want the supermarket to know all this?

      I'm sorry but scanning qr codes are just more efficient. Would you prefer to carry a wallet, pull out a credit card, then swipq/tap or just scan it using your phone? (No wallet required).

Plus qr codes started in Japan, not China, (unless your geography is crap and thinks China & Japan are the same country lol).       So crime-money is out of the game. You can't spend it because the computer at any point of sale is aware of where it's coming from and that it isn't yours.

      Cool. Will we need a new microchip for each one or can they use the same chip? Also, if it's linked to government databases, it would have to be government issue so that would include requiring an ID card stating that you have an ID microchip... filling out several forms and probably needing a smartphone app and QR code anyway.
