Yup, FedEx still has a few left! They’re slated to be retired within a year or so though. Also can see the KC-10 (air refueler) occasionally, and an aerial firefighting company (10 Tanker) owns a couple.
Flew on a NWA dc10-30 back In 02' I later discovered most of their DC10-30 at that time was ex-swiss I still got the picture In a binder at my parents apartment. But old film roll Is not that easy to decipher.
I don't know where the 23 frames came from, KLM only operated 11 frames of which 2 never flew for KLM and 1 was leased from MP for a period in the late 80s.

Didn’t Eastern Airlines have a ton of DC-10’s? I used to be a flight attendant for American Airlines a long time ago. I should know the answer to this, but is the L-1011 the same as the DC-10? 🌴☀️🌴
Nope! In fact despite physically being similar with their three engines, they were totally different aircraft, especially from a technological standpoint. EA only had 3 DC-10s, they favoured the TriStar with 66 units
My grandpa was a commander in alitalia dc10, he was a commander on md11 b747 200 b777 and dc9

Well, considering the size of the country involved, KLM with 23 DC-10's did pretty well considering it's only one twentieth the size of the US
KLM are majority international airline, and the DC10 is a long haul aircraft so why would that be special?
@@simondahl5437 country size seems to affect airline size.
@@roykliffen9674. Not if the country is in the EU…

I always wonder why the DC-10's tailcone is almost round, but the MD-11's tailcone are similar to the 777's tailcone.
Different series of CF6 engine, the 10s used the -6 and -50 while the 11s used the -80
I was wishing to fly with Swiss but there is no Swiss in indo :(
FedEx is actually #1, having flown over 100 DC10s. Not including it’s MD11s.
Now it's only the 777s and the A350s
