2:22:31 IGN recently had a gun historian/specialist review all the weapons in the original RE4, and while he had high praise for most of the game, one of the minor nitpicks he had was with the Red9's reload animation. It was almost perfect, except for how Leon would casually fling the stripper clip off the Red9 with one hand. He pointed out that the clip would be lodged in pretty tight, so you couldn't just fling it off with a flick of the wrist. So in Remake, Leon now actually takes the time to pull the clip out, directly addressing that nitpick. Tiny details like that, which only absolute nerds and specialists would notice, are truly the icing on this game's already delicious cake.
It was Gamespot, and it was Jonathan Ferguson Keeper of Arms and Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history... I apologize for nothing.
@@bdarecords_ Except Salazar. They cut nearly every cool moment he has or altered it into something underwhelming. No knife in the hand, no sending Verdugo after us on screen, no "Mr. Kennedy, welcome." There's also tons of cut video calls that help with exposition. For instance, there's no verbal introduction for the flying Novistadors so they literally just pop up out of nowhere. And on top of Verdugo not being explained as to why he's chasing us (how did Salazar know to send him? He doesn't know Leon survived the fall in the remake because they cut the "satisfying sound of one's impalement"...) they also don't explain that Salazar jacked the line so Hunnigan randomly disappears for the entire game with no actual explanation. And there's 0 explanation as to what happened to Salazar's other Verdugo servant as he's not there when Salazar transforms. I appreciate them giving Krauser a bigger role, but they didn't need to change his story so that he wasn't working for Wesker. I like the idea that Operation Javier led him to Saddler, but the concept he's actually trusted instead of just using Saddler disappoints me. They also cut the greatest non-comedic line in the entire game, "Like you... I'm AMERICAN." which is just the coldest shit ever. This also led to Ada's role being severely lowered in terms of necessity and she sorta just becomes an important character at the end out of nowhere. Her absolutely horrid voice actress doesn't help. I mean, it may have been the worst voice acting I've heard in a Resident Evil game since RE1 back in the 1996. In fact, almost all the voice acting in the game was a step down with the exception of Leon, Luis, Hunnigan, and Ashley. Krauser and Mendez's voices are super high pitched for their visual nature. Salazar sounds like a bad impression. Ada straight up sounds like a female discord mod with no acting skills whatsoever. Wesker sounds literally NOTHING like Wesker lmao. And Saddler was okay. The Merchant was decent, can't really complain. Mike the Pilot was actually *better* this time around, so props to him for that. And finally, the villagers and all were okay, but a bit more modulation to their voices would have gone a long way in making them more menacing. But Saddler as a character didn't get built up enough to hate and didn't sell his performance with the little dialogue he had. His intentions were less clear in the remake overall as was the entire cult. *Eh, it's a great remake. I shouldn't complain.* But some of the stuff being arbitrarily cut and shoved around just to pop up anyways felt like a pointless move. I just feel like the original was actually less cliché and more mature which is odd considering this is RE4 we're talking about lol.

Yeah i was like moving too many pieces at first. Then i realized instead of trying to make the inner part first you just work from the outside in. Did it in like 3 minutes.
He’s actually addressed this on stream in the past where Jessica would ask him to grab a thing on multiple occasions and he would look everywhere but right in front of him then she would grab the item and show him. From his words “it was like it appeared out of thin air”

Since you fight two Garrador alongside multiple Zealots you'll see the Garrador kill the Zealots also by accident. One of the Garrador in my run was even killed by the other Garrador which was highly appreciated by me. :D
I got hit with intense Ashley flashbacks as well from back in the day lmao, but fr tho this new Ashley is much better as a character and her VA did an amazing job
I completely agree. Ashley sounds genuinely terrified this time around. You can’t help but feel bad for her. In the original it felt too much like someone pretending to be scared, and half the time Ashley came off as bratty more than anything.
@@juliocosta2944 I think they mean in terms of AI. I personally think it's fine, though. Her first death for me happened on the island, which I consider an achievement on my part. Additionally, I don't really blame the AI for that one. It was just unlucky.

I'm a mo cap performer and wanted to share a painful story of mine involving the remake of RE 2. Might make the agonizing regret somehow berable...:) I was training my voice regarding voice acting since 2007. Several years later - by accident - I did some modeling jobs and focused more on a raw motion/performance capture skills, leaving voice acting behind a bit. In late November of 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the motion capture role of Leon for the 2019 RE2 Remake. I lost the part early on. Now, many years later when I see how successfull these remakes are (now with RE 4 remake released) I can't believe I squandered such an opportunity. It goes without saying that in this business one audition can change your whole life. I'm trying not to give up though, I recently was approached by Platige Image about my latest voice demo but I feel like it's kinda a castle made of sand. PS. Great Video!
Nah. In the original it was a beast but in this one, it's very mid. Raw fire power is the only thing it's got going for it as it has the highest firepower on handgun in the game. Issues are many though. Weapon size for instance is too much with stock which is needed to reduce weapon bloom. Even with stock, the bloom is significant which means you'll miss shots. Then there's the reload, fire rate and capacity which are all terrible. Compared to that, blacktail only offers slightly less firepower for much better other stats while taking little inventory space. Then there's the sliver ghost and dlc weapon which have zero weapon bloom (with laser) and have good stats all around with massive critical rate.
Man I love Max but he has no perception of his surroundings or whats happening Jessicia IMMEDIATELY saw that the puzzle didn't reset lol. And The Cutscene Rain doesn't look like pre patch rewatch that shit lol.
The Ashley flashbacks XD. Might just be because I haven’t played the original, but in the remake for me I’ve had no big problems with Ashley. Anyways I’m 10 hours in and man… this might be on of my favourite games of all time. ❤
For me the main time she did this was when she dived Infront a regenerator to save it's life. After that I put her in the locker when I went to retry it, so she could think about what she did.
She was easier to control in the original since she would LITERALLY stick right behind you. So you always knew where she was. She would get in the way a lot in the og since when you aimed in her direction she'd hit the floor to not get shot, but she wouldn't crouch run like remake, she'd just... sit there... in danger...
That hex puzzle is funny stuff. At least on Assist and Standard it's just 2 turns as long as you don't mess with it. It's cool that things are different on Hardcore (and I'm guessing Pro as well) puzzles, enemies, layouts, etc are changed slightly. Like when running to the boat in chapter 14 I think it is, there are Knights there on Hardcore but not Assist/Standard. Shit gave me a heart attack since I already did it twice and didn't expect it.
2:08:40 I remember on my first playthrough, I had accidentally solved this puzzle in 2 moves. After I did, I just stared at my screen for like 5 minutes in disbelief.

After beating the huge fish monster I kept mashing the buttons thinking the rope was going to wrap around my leg lol.
As soon as I heard the original music in the firing range, I was like "THIS IS AMAZING" 🤪
(also I could hear Max "BEST GAME EVER... AGAIN")
That drop onto a bear trap is priceless! Haha!
I will never get enough of watching max play these types of games hes so oblivious to his surroundings sometimes makes for a great laugh
2:06:09 Max and JJ are such relationship goals. Helping each other and teasing each other, even for how long they've been together--it's just so adorable.
*doesn't go to where the quest says the dog is* "hey why didn't we run into that dog?"
What is funnier than laughing over Ashley being tight or loose is immediately after the joke was done, Leon says 'Spread out, on me!'
bolt thrower with mines is honestly my goat for the castle section.
I love when max plays a new Resident Evil game he’s so enjoyable to watch and listen too. Can’t wait for him to do his RE randomized runs on the Remake of 4
Playing RE4 Remake and then coming back to watch Max play is now my new favourite pastime 🤣
I was stuck on that hexagon puzzle and my chat wouldn't believe it 😂. It actually was tough
that puzzle caused my only rage quit so far. (well I say that but I still saved)
Literally how 😂😭
The hexagon puzzle was so easy for me wth. You just gotta use your brain.
Noob 😂
For future runs:
Bottom right, bottom left, up center.
I actually looked up the puzzle after doing it. I was so pissed off at how fucking easy it was to do it. Literally just had to move two pieces and thats it
Yeah i was like moving too many pieces at first. Then i realized instead of trying to make the inner part first you just work from the outside in. Did it in like 3 minutes.
I guess I got lucky. I moved the top and the bottom and finished in an instant. I was like "What that's it?."
I spent SO MUCH time at the beginning.
Then I looked at it from the start position and was like... "Wait... That simple ? No f*cking way..."
The pieces are positioned differently on hardcore. The two-move solution does not work there
@@caikelm5766 it was even more complicated on professional
The joy this guy feels when playing this, is only beaten out by the happiness he feels with his family.
sometimes max is as blind as a bat😂
He’s actually addressed this on stream in the past where Jessica would ask him to grab a thing on multiple occasions and he would look everywhere but right in front of him then she would grab the item and show him. From his words “it was like it appeared out of thin air”
You know i can just kinda imagine that if leon ever settles down he would become a renowned and succesfull author.
Obviousky he would only ever write on a typewritter
In his freetime he would work with antiques or go treausure hunting. Restoration work and all that jazz
Leon basically becoming Indiana Jones after retiring?
I'd believe it... He's a late 80s- early 90s kid, seems legit.
I think some of the “cut” content will be showcased in Separate Ways, which would actually help differentiate Ada’s campaign from the main campaign. Sounds like Capcom plans on expanding on Separate Ways significantly, which is great. I’m loving the remake. I’m already doing a NG+ and it’s still a 10/10 for me.
then maybe U3 will get the justice he deserves.
Long live U3.
That's exactly my feeling. The other Gigante and U3 are probably being saved for Separate Ways. Maybe U3 will be the other "Verdugo"? Considering this time we don't see Salazar's mutation...
It's Capcom, don't be surprised if it's paid DLC for no reason
@@557deadpoolI think you're confusing Capcom with EA. Capcom is generally good with their DLC content and their prices whereas EA everything is locked behind paid DLC
@@557deadpoolWhy the hell shouldnt it be paid dlc? Cheapskate

“The more things change, the more stays the same” face…
Ashley was to freaked out to stay in one place😂
One of the best remakes ever created hands down. I love you capcom
I beat this game 6 times and never knew you could go into elgigantes little home hole from the first fight and read that log..
Same, it took me til my 3rd to realize that.
Also, (spoiler) in the ball room where you fight all those Novistadores, there's a chicken egg in one of the side hallways' ceilings.
Punisher was a huge clutch in the cabin fight.
Having played through on Hardcore I am thinking picking up the Punisher at the Castle. More options for shield bros and you can use the laser sight.
Seriously though how the hell is JJ such a Puzzle Goddess? My lord she solves the most intricated and cryptic shit in like 2 minutes
Max: I helped at the end!
LMAOOOO
@@chesteradams7423 yeah I was gonna say I solved it in 2 moves 😂
@@chesteradams7423 What do you think I did?
Am I the only one that kept screaming to put the handgun away to safe some space and no one in chat said anything
I've been screaming that for the last two hours.
"I don't have room"
THEN GET RID OF THE STARTING PISTOL, JACKASS
I managed to stumble on the 2-move solution to the hex puzzle the first time i did it, and boy am I glad I did. It can become a super-nightmare real quick it seems.
Max calling Jess to do the puzzle was the best part haha. I feel your pain dude I was stuck on this thing longer than I care to admit 😂
The lake section takes me back to re5 with the gun on the boat and chicken Island 🤩
Was playing simulationously with a friend and said, hey there's a boat in the middle of the lake. He simply asked, wtf is this RE5 all of a sudden
I think one of the Chainsaw Sisters died to the other Chainsaw sister. This can happen as enemies are able to damage each other. This is especially noticable a bit later in the game with the.....
ATTENTION MINOR CASTLE SPOILER (for those who haven't played the original RE4 in 2005):
.... double Garrador fight. Since you fight two Garrador alongside multiple Zealots you'll see the Garrador kill the Zealots also by accident. One of the Garrador in my run was even killed by the other Garrador which was highly appreciated by me. :D
Yeah, and that seems to be the play for that room on New Games. Still is terrifying, but it's so good.
1:39:43 "Maybe there'll be a clue?"
Mans really just walks past one HAHAHA XD
I got hit with intense Ashley flashbacks as well from back in the day lmao, but fr tho this new Ashley is much better as a character and her VA did an amazing job
I completely agree. Ashley sounds genuinely terrified this time around. You can’t help but feel bad for her. In the original it felt too much like someone pretending to be scared, and half the time Ashley came off as bratty more than anything.
From what little I've seen she is worse in game than the original but her voice and character are better
@@devinsteele2424 How worse? She actually helps Leon quite a lot by herself
@@juliocosta2944 I think they mean in terms of AI. I personally think it's fine, though. Her first death for me happened on the island, which I consider an achievement on my part. Additionally, I don't really blame the AI for that one. It was just unlucky.
@@blueflare3848
Really she never died for me until like either my 3rd or 4th playthrough
RE4 was the first game I watched a whole playthrough of when I was a wee lad. So watching your RE4 Remake playthrough feels very nostalgic.
I just realized, the Brazilian translation has a completely different line for the chainsaw ladies, instead of going "Didn't know it was yours" Leon says "Ladies, I'm honored, but I'm a monogamous guy" lip sync and all, you guys are missing out
One of the lines he says is, "Sorry, I'm a one woman kind of guy." I think there's some randomization with what lines you get.
I was begging for this all day
Was there when it happened live. Crazy but an all too familiar moment.
0:00 I watched that live and laughed my ASS off
**Ashley war noises**
The tap dancing line actually made me laugh when I pictured in my head the Chief tap dancing.
I like how the game explicitly tells max to run away from the villagers and he makes a very bold decision to specifically NOT run away and shoot every single one
Dude ong, im yelling at the screen like “dude just fvcking run!”
@@AtlSupreeme why would he? He literally has no reason to

Max chilling with the stake trower at his inventory for half the game😂
Which is sad, because it's such a good early game weapon since it helps save ammo.
You will make it! Just gotta keep going!!
Pics or didnt happen
I don't get why you say "squandered". You tried your best and didn't get it. It's not your fault, bro.
Keep the grind going man!
You didnt squander it, you just didnt get it.
As max walks by a clue “hmm maybe there’ll be a clue”
Max is missing so much treasures and stuff it hurts
Max selling the Red9 right before the stock hurt my soul, it's probably the best handgun in the game
Max letting JJ cook then actually cooked was my favorite of this stream
4:21:54 the exact same thing happened to me. The sister with the crank just died somewhere and I had to go around and search for her.
Honestly if Max put Ashley on loose that moment may not have happened.
What time?
Man I love Max but he has no perception of his surroundings or whats happening Jessicia IMMEDIATELY saw that the puzzle didn't reset lol. And The Cutscene Rain doesn't look like pre patch rewatch that shit lol.
The English pirate merchant, love it
31:44 in this part we just wanted to have the whole Capcom team in front of you give you a big hug and say Thank you.
I love Max but how long he took to realize he needs to board the windows so the cabin ends really made me twitch lmao.
You don't really need to though
Max's hype make me want to play this for the fifth time as soon as I get home.
Benny came to the rescue max, he came to save you 😢😂
The Ashley flashbacks XD. Might just be because I haven’t played the original, but in the remake for me I’ve had no big problems with Ashley. Anyways I’m 10 hours in and man… this might be on of my favourite games of all time. ❤
just a few more hours
Nah, it's just a meme. She was fine in original too
For me the main time she did this was when she dived Infront a regenerator to save it's life.
Correction: one of your favorite games of all time, AGAIN ;)
That hex puzzle is funny stuff. At least on Assist and Standard it's just 2 turns as long as you don't mess with it. It's cool that things are different on Hardcore (and I'm guessing Pro as well) puzzles, enemies, layouts, etc are changed slightly. Like when running to the boat in chapter 14 I think it is, there are Knights there on Hardcore but not Assist/Standard. Shit gave me a heart attack since I already did it twice and didn't expect it.
On Hardcore and Professional it's 3.
16:28 Max's Face of Horror here was hilarious because I thought the error was on my end.
the most badass part: Jessica solving the puzzle! 🔥_🔥
`Love Max and the Merchant coughing in sync at 1:29:58
I love that if you take off the scope on the rifle you can ads with its iron sight
dude I hate it when that happens but cannot help but laugh
2:08:40
I remember on my first playthrough, I had accidentally solved this puzzle in 2 moves. After I did, I just stared at my screen for like 5 minutes in disbelief.
Lmao Max really tagged in JaeJae to solve the puzzle. Best part of the video
"Let your mom cook, Ripley."
I love it. 😂
His tag gauge was full
Love to see and hear the family time Max!! Awesome video!! 😎💯💯💯
watching a streamer play a game like this is like watching a horse with blinders on play it
not only has he repeatedly missed the gemstone bonuses prompt to show how it works, he's not heard a single one of the clockwork collectables either
You know I do appreciate the change to key items of letting you sell them when they are no longer useable than just throwing them away. Helps with upgrades and what not
BRO I DIDNT KNOW YOU CAN KILL THE HAMMER BRO IN TO ONE HIT! Knowing that could have helped in this section while playing in hardcore. Lol
