This was another perfect example of how to make a song your own. The first version was close to the original folk and the change to rock was just brilliant. Their voices together are pure magic. 🙂

This performance was for the 1st round of Phantom Singer All Stars. (I'll say PSAS) PSAS could be filmed because serious covid situation made every concert canceled. For that reason they had online audience and a few celeb guests only. (And competitor groups themselves)
All the finalists groups from 3 seasons were invited and each round had a specific themes. Forestella is the 2nd season's winner. Each season has 3 final groups and all the final 9 groups were invited to PSAS.
The celebrity guests and online audience voted to someone they liked. There were 7 rounds with different theme. But one theme was solo performance representing the group and one theme was seasons' match. So each group had 5 songs as a whole group.
They compete on the themes given and sometimes compete as solo, as member-changed quartet or duet in this show. The theme for the 1st round was making stage representing the own originality of themselves. As you saw they showed their originality like this. I think they homaged the Yungblud version (OST for Fast & Furious) in the middle section, but still in a unique way.
And I felt the lyrics was what they're talking to each other because they came through tough times together for years and share strong bond among them.
BTW I got chills when I came to know the time was going backwards! See the clock face was reversed. These genius artists made me imagine a story about the Time in a bottle this way. Every time they make me love them even more than ever!

I don't know why I haven't left my comment at all on this channel, maybe I missed from the start. I'll leave my comments back to White Night reaction...but here as well. (Below is my comment I usually post for the first-time-ever reaction to Forestella)
This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed.
You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die!
And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too.
Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (a classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (an ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (a classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (a musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible.
Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their majestic original song Utopia is a must check.
Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia! Enjoy their diversity with their original song White Night too.
Forestella released their single KOOL in Kpop style to fulfill their promise of Kpop cover dance for exceeding 990K views of Save our lives m/v. They struggled to choose a Kpop to dance, became to think making their own Kpop song with dance! As crossover works for all genres, Forestella did a great job for their fans.
