Very slowly organizing my stuff. Did the drawers in the bathroom vanity this morning. Utensil and lid drawer last week. Even got around to the freezer. Holy cow, was that an eye opener! No need to buy meat for awhile. Try working in 15 minute increments. The Fly Lady technique. It's amazing what you can accomplish in a short period of time. Good luck with it all.
Morning Karen, I downsized my home 5 years ago, storage was a big problem so things were stored all over the place which made it hard to find things and know what I had in stock. I decided to rearrange all the storage and take another look at what I had. I did an inventory of everything I had using a page for each area. I tried to store like with like to make things easier. As I use things I crossed them off the list. With regards to clothing, like you I kept thing to slim back into, I did slim but 90% of the stuff I had kept were no longer age appropriate so I had stored them for years taking up space for nothing. Down sizing has made we really look at my belongings and I have learnt that not only did I need to down size my house, I also needed to down size my lifestyle and my belongings

I listen to podcasts by the organised mum for these kind of jobs. The difference in my orgaisation is amazing. Because like you Karen i had preps everywhere. So ive spent the past few weeks doing a bit at a time when ive got the chance. Makes such a difference to have it organised. Set a timer. Have three piles. Bin, keep, donate. Give yourself say 15 minutes sorting out and then 10 minutes putting away your keep pile and then 5 minutes getting rid of the bin pile and then its just your donate pile to go. Clears up loads of space. But you have to be prepared to be strict with yourself but not as strict as swedish death cleaning strict. Good luck.
Have you got a loft? I put shelves into my loft and keep all the things like glass jars and tins in there. Anything that mice cannot chew through. I also store logs up there.
Writing what you have where in storage is so helpful for me. I write the dates in pencil so I can erase the item when I use it. For example: Cans baked beans: jan'26 - jan'26 - feb'26 - may'26. If I want beans on toast I look in my planner wich one I need to use first and erase the date.
That's a really good idea to write it down. I'm doing that on the door of my pantry &on the side of my refrigerator. It stops me from overbuying. I need to do that because I live in an apartment &don't have a lot of storage space.
Love the wardrobe editing. I did the same, but being a total squirrel there were fabrics I still loved too much so I put them in bin bags with the "craft supplies". I know, I know, I'll never get to use them, but baby steps.
morning folks 4;50 am here in withernsea east yorshire , yesterday i had to take my 4 pet girl mice to Vets they were scratting (as my old mum says ha ha ) they had mites so the VET gave them spot on drop treatment was £122, plus taxi there ", , you try getting drops on wriggle mice what fun , ha ha but they are so cute with me 24/7 play like kittens
Skinny malarky! I love it!! I've got plenty of skinny malarky too. I'm taking the best quality items back to the UK in three weeks' time and my daughter will sell them for me on Vinted. Sadly, a 17-year-old white linen jacket (that I have never worn!) had mould on it so had to be binned. Nothing better a good declutter - especially when the weather's bad and you can't get out. Have an enjoyable - and productive - weekend. :)

I sorted out the garden shed this past week, although still very cold. I have a four am cat too! I am a skinny old lady that gets very tired. I will have to purchase some smaller underthings.
Hi Karen. We frugal people know that we have to think-outside-the-box to save money. Because more people are having to live in micro apartments and other extremely tiny spaces, I'd like to share a frugal idea that actual did work for me. Train companies fairly often upgrade or replace their equipment. Their furniture is especially designed for micro-sized comfort. They do not throw away the furniture, they sell it in a surplus sale (so does the military, but that is camping equipment to a civilian). You can use personal contacts and the internet to find where and when surplus sales take place. Personal example: Without taking time to consider the furniture, I grabbed the price sticker, went straight to the cash lane and immediately paid for the items. By the time I returned to where the furniture was, another customer was having a salesclerk load it onto a flat cart. They did the normal thing of wanting to take the merchandise to the cash lane and then to pay. However, you don't do normal - you do fast. I showed the clerk my receipt and he told the other customer that he was very sorry that he could not sell it to her. I gave that customer my best wishes for them finding another furniture set. I sincerely do hope they did find. The point is these specialty items sale for an unbelievably low price; a $$$ three-thousand-dollar furniture set will sale for $ three hundred dollars. Therefore, they sell fast. If you miss out, don't be depressed, good deals happen all the time.
P.S. Car rental companies sell their cars cheap. How can you be fast? Only check for automatic transmission, mileage on the odometer, and price tag. The apex of lowest price/lowest mileage wins. This is a good strategy for buying a teenager their first car.
Karen, I use the cupboard under the stairs as my pantry. I put up shelves and now store my extra bits and bobs there. Made a massive difference to me.
