Am in love with these guys. The sophistication, the taste level, the respect the young have for their mentors, the sheer joy brings tears to my eyes. I was lucky enough to grow up in NYC in the 50’s and 60’s and I witnessed the Basie Big Band, Ellington, and all the stars on 52nd Street. Watching Joan’s meticulous curation and superb leadership brings me right back to those exciting days. Bravo!

Hey Joan, was listening to "the Shadow of Your Smile" this morning by someone, not sure who. That would be great to hear from you with maybe Andrea or Alba Armengou doing the vocal. They both have the rich lower tones and clear solid notes. Alba one of my favorites in vocal, think she may mature into a great talent.

Abril is about as good as they get. I always regret that she left early to perform on her own with two trios, one for jazz and one for pop/rock. I regret even more that she appeared, before the pandemic, to have abandoned jazz and was leaving the drums to someone else.
