There are 13 sermons of Saint Columbanus, each filled with wisdom, zeal and eloquence. One of the noteworthy features is the quoting of passages from the Old and New Testament which flow into the words of Saint Columbanus himself. This shows his profound knowledge of the Bible and the way in which he had incorporated its message into his own pattern of thought and speech. Later sermons sometimes refer to the previous sermon so they should be read in chronological order.
