I never get tired of Karina’s “who needs em” comments. It didn’t make an appearance this time sadly.
The intro(s) remind me of that one text post that’s like:
“ I was talking to my coworker and she said to me ‘I’ve been trying to tell my husband I want a horse but I don’t know how’ and I was like ‘you could send subliminal messages by taping pictures of horses on the wall and stuff’ and she looked at me funny for a second and was like ‘I said _divorce_ not _horse.’ ”_

"Who's the light source of your friend group?" is a legitimately important question for D&D parties, unless everyone has darkvision.
I see but am the light, but then they rush without me to chase some goblins and fall in a hole and die (10ft deep) (they're fine) (we turned back)
They laughed at me for going control flames as a druid
They didn't when I illuminated half the cave with a single torch

All but two of my players have darkvision and they have two very different approaches to making light. One is a normal adventurer who has a torch, and the other is a maniac scavenger who coats themself in moss and bug guts until they glow bright enough to see a little bit.
99% of the time, everyone does have darkvision except the one variant human who took Observant as a feat so they might as well have it anyway. God I love DMing.
I want to believe that a fight with gym Julia would start with her throwing out monferno, and once you defeat him you do the rest of the fight in total darkness, completely unaware of your Pokémon’s health or anything else, just panicking.
That sounds horrifying. I love it.

There she was. What all this had been building up to. What the Haunted Lady had said caused all of this madness. Who the Gym Leader's feared. Who Professor Redwood almost forgot about, his former colleague.
The maddened mind of the region, the leader of a league and an evil team, the creator of all these creators Ash had seen, and yet...

I loooove when Nathan draws “edgier” stuff! It’s so unusual but he’s so great at it, it’s lovely to see it shine through
Yeah! The dramatic colors and composition turned out perfectly
I think it's interesting. I tend to forget Nathan is really good at realistic or stylized (like the shadow edgelord art Julia often likes) art he just choses not to draw it that much because he prefers this more cuddly comic style. For example I also loved his 'Arctic Animals' piece on the 'redraw your childhood art' episode and that was also totaly off his normal style 🤗
It's easy to think of him as the most amateur, but he's actually very talented at imitating other's art styles. I would have guessed Julia drew his fan art there.

Second of all: dinosaur lies episode. You each pick a weird animal and tell the person drawing fun facts about it, and they have to incorporate that into a dino. We can get Nathan’s book started.
