Its great to see all the minutiae. Especially with clean, shiny, new parts. So often I look at pictures of vintage cars and the mechanics just all seem to blend together colorwise. And of course great to see Walter!
So you had to install new calipers in the back! Porsche 914s are similar; for whatever reason the rear units are very difficult to find as compared to the front ones. This is coming along great also!!
Nice job on the calipers. Originals would have been yellow-cad plated. Did you get the piston rotations oriented - there is a 20 deg. angle involved to help the piston engage the shoe properly.
My 356 shifter has a loud noise at certain RPMs, if I put my hand on the shift lever, the noise goes away. So I'm thinking I need to replace the bushings somewhere probably. Do I need to remove / disconnect the entire shift rod as shown in your video?
Hey is there supposed to be a little wobble on those inner bearings of the front wheel hubs? I’m putting my front disc’s back together and the existing bearings have a little wobble but the seals are flush.
Im impressed at the disc brakes in 1965, given that as a Canadian i have owned and driven a 1970 GMC 1/2 ton pick up and a 1973 Pontiac Ventura both with four wheel drum brakes. Horrible braking system that probably caused a lot of people to die wastefully.

Fun to see Walter's paw of approval. Your new quality control inspector!
Love watching you tackle all the critical bits and pieces on these old cars and doing it well.
Wow! you got a lot done! These older cars are not that complicated, though I await the final cost accounting to see what those parts cost!! :)
Brakes are looking great! Video was entertaining and informative.
Nicely done as usual.
Thanks, and Woof to Walter.
Enjoying the videos. Looking forward to Sunday’s fix. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻🇺🇸

Thank you for another good video.
Oh oh I saw Walter !
A lot of exciting progress! Great work!
As always a great job bro 👍🏻
Well done!
Awesome! Thanks!

I set the piston direction when I installed them 👍
Yeah I didn't see that on the video. There is a special tool that you can buy or make to set them properly.
Tonka - Toy for adult - boy.
I love it.
Appreciate your “no commentary” silent builds. Already found some mistakes by prior owner. What do you torque the front disc to hub nuts & bolts to?
Thanks. I can’t remember and torque specs. I always google them when I need them.
I found it in the shop manual…go figure. 15-17 foot pounds
enjoyed
It's a drum ! it's a rotor ! it's drotor !

Yes, probably
That was a lot of work it made me tired lol

I found out this “wobble” is typical as it’s a compression bearing
Your gloves seem pretty strong! What are they?
Here's a link to the gloves I use: amzn.to/3Lxn5IY

Not really a wobble. But don’t make them so tight that they don’t spin freely either. Find the sweet spot in the middle👍
