Can you set the touchpad so that the x and y axises correspond to the pitch bend and mod wheels so that I can use it for vibrato on my VSTi instruments?

Yes.
From the manual:
“Press the Pitch/Mod button to switch the Touchpad to the Pitch/Mod mode.”

when you play on the keys, its sooo loud and clicky .. its very disturbing and annoying when trying to songwrite or jam ... its sounds like an amplified computer keyboard ... .. please make the keys silent ! plus the keys feel cheap
