Today, I want to talk about the rise and fall of PVR Cinemas, one of the biggest cinema chains in India.
PVR Cinemas was founded in 1997 and quickly became a popular destination for moviegoers. The company expanded rapidly, opening new locations throughout India and becoming known for its high-quality movie-watching experience.
COVID-19 pandemic has hit PVR Cinemas hard, forcing the company to close its doors for several months and causing a significant drop in revenue. Even after reopening, the company has struggled to attract customers
In fy22 (Q1) Inox reported a 29% occupancy rate, while PVR was at 33.6% and in Q2 it fell to 17% and 24%.
In my next video, I'll be taking a deep dive into the history of PVR cinemas and exploring how the company rose to fame and what led to its decline. I'll be covering everything from the initial success of the PVR to the recent reasons which led to the reason of less occupancy in theaters

High Ticket prices and also food and beverages charges are high.
They should focus on quantity of the people visiting PVR so that they will be able to increase their Revenue.

One more thing I can add is the availability of movies in smart phone is also a noticable factor for downfall of cinema. Earlier there was no such thing and people has no option of entertainment except go to cinemas...
We have stopped watching movies in PVR as they are not running shows on time suppose Show time of a Movie is 06:30 PM, they Start Movie by 7:00 Pm half an hour Late in between that half hour late timing They are Running ads which no one is interested to watch, Now a days we are watching Movies in Inox as they Start Movies on Time ,which is good.we watch movies for our entertainment not for watching ads,
OTT is the biggest cause of failing the PVR, by paying 1500 to amazon prime and 800 to hotstar for one year we can get the new movies in just a month
Whereas in cinema halls since pvr increased its price for tickets and foods, people will less prefer to go their

OTT के बाद सबसे बड़ा कारण है लोकल थियेटर्स का upgrade. लोकल थियेटर की seats और screens काफी बेहतर हो चुकी है. मैं 2021 से सिर्फ़ लोकल थियेटर में जा रहा हुँ क्योंकि 200 रुपये में सोफा मिल जाता है.

Lot of pvr tickets sold offline now clubs food with the ticket. So a movie costing rs 150 on paytm is sold for rs 400 when purchased from the theatre sale window. Also lot of theatres have older ac systems and stinking seats . One would rather wait for the movies to come on ott platforms and enjoy same movie at home in 4k resolution

Decrease the ambience a little bit and it should be done in such a way that it's not noticable, reduce the ticket price by 20% and keep the high quality content for longer duration. By these factor PVR & INOX may survive

हिंदी फिल्मों के गिरने की वजह: १) Bollywood के पुराने सुपर स्टार (खान चौकड़ी, अक्षय कुमार, अजय इत्यादि) अब बूढ़े हो चुके हैं ओर पिछले ५ साल से उनकी फिल्में ज्यादातर बकवास होती हैं। २) बॉलीवुड पाकिस्तान / मुसलमानों को अच्छा बताते हैं ओर भारत / हिन्दू को खराब दिखाता हैं ३) कहीं सारी फिल्मों में कहानी, स्क्रीन प्ले, एडिटिंग, म्यूजिक, एक्टिंग वगरह का ठिकाना नहीं हैं! अधिकतर गाने पंजाबी हो गए हैं या समझ नहीं आते हैं, और इस लिए फ़िल्मों को जरूरी लिफ्ट नहीं मिलती हैं (आप आखरी म्यूजिकल हिट का नाम भी नहीं बता पाएंगे)!

Now a days there is no patience for 2 hours. You can easily undrstand this thing with youtube shorts, reels etc. Why youtube launched shorts. Now looks like 60 sec is enough to entertain somebody. There is no future for a 2 hours film any more. We have to understand our generations, change of times.

500 रुपये का टिकट, 400 रुपये का पॉपकॉर्न और 250 रुपये ka कोल्ड ड्रिंक पीना मेरे बस में नहीं है, इसलिए मैं नहीं जाता. 100 रुपये का टिकट, 20 रुपये का समोसा और 35 रुपये की कोल्डड्रिंक मैं पी सकता हु बस.
Big screens are just failing because of below reasons:-
OTT flatforms
People are getting more addicted to their mobile phones,watching movies ,season over the phone.
Prices which cost per cinema in pvr is equivalent to one ott subscription.
Downfall of bollywood.
So big screen will not revive any more.

In same pvr Kashmir files was having 100%occupancy. Same is the case with RRR. Today if you see in last 2 years there is hardly any movie with good music. After Kashmir files mindset of people has changed.
