    Definitely a great trick! Just thought I'd mention for anyone else reading the comments, messing around with the LFO and Flutter can be really interesting as well. I like to add just a subtle intensity and a slow rate to the LFO giving tracks a little pitch wow Like a tape sometimes can. Great for trippy, psychedelic sounds.

    I’m getting more and more convinced that Logic’s built in plugins are as good as any 3rd party plugins. I’ve done some testing between Logics and UAD for example and it’s hard to tell the differens, and when I do, I’m not sure which sounds the best. I’m sure there are exeptions, but havent found them yet. An example is UAD’s EMT 140 compared to Logic’s plate. When I listen in solo I think the UAD sounds a bit better/warmer, but many times Logic’s works better in the mix. Also compared UAD’s SSL Buss comp vs Logic’s - there I couldn’t say which one sounded the best. I was very tempted to buy the UAD plugin at first, but after the test I just couldn’t motivate it. More and more I just use the built in ones, which is also much lighter to run cpu wise as well.

    Thanks dude! I'm convinced there's diminishing returns with the expensive 3rd party plugins vs Logic's - esp for this saturation and vintage EQ. Will try my next project using only LPX's plugins.

      @@ZedMartyProduction I'm always trying to hang on to little bits and pieces of the Flintstones days.
      I had a book called "Zen Guitar" the guy said something I never forgot:
      "Ride the analog waves like a surfer
      Arrange the digital bits like Mosaic tiles"
      I firmly believe in the harmony between the two.
      Any means toward achieving that end is always helpful and constructive.
      Again, I offer sincere thanks.

    • @zepheriyah
      @zepheriyah 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drmedwuast Definitely not, I have been using Serum for about a year now, after previously using both Retro Synth and Alchemy, and Serum's workflow is so much better, and there are so many things you can do in it that cannot be done in Alchemy. But I am a Dubstep producer, which Alchemy can make Dubstep sounds, but it is much more difficult, some things are not possible in it. But, if you produce other types of music, Alchemy will be more than enough.
