This is the second video Ive watched back to back explaining the same BFL. I swear when I was young they used to teach the opposite and I’ve been trying to diagnose my swing and telling my friends the old “laws”. The theory WAS that the speed of the swing along the path would dictate the ball flight initially until the spin from the face angle took over and influenced the flight. No wonder I’m still a bad golfer.
Surprise! It was opposite of this back in the day. The one thing I always went with was loft. Even if you strike down on the ball- club path... The ball still follows the loft and goes up- with backspin. How they decided the opposite back in the day is a real doozy.

Counterclockwise spin? Really? Please show a high speed video of any type of “side” spin produced by a normal golf shot. There’s no such thing as SIDESPIN! There is only back spin! A putter can produce over spin but no other club produces anything but BACKSPIN. Ball curvature comes from the horizontal spin axis of the ball being “tilted” away from horizontal.
