Honestly I have limited time so didn't feel like bothering with the stock ESC. It's difficult to program and it dumbs down the power. In past experiences anyway😂
Seems like no matter how fast a car is, out of the box.... that some people will always say it needs to be "woke up". The truth is, this thing is wicked fast straight out the box, especially with the included speed gear. With that said, I enjoy watching these guys straight up abuse their equipment, so I don't need to.
Yessir that's why I used the speed gearing and HR 46 steel spur. With a Max 6 she was pretty quick just lacked extra torque. Definitely fun truck for sure!!😍👊💪💪

Absolutely awesome first Rip Brother Eric 😜!!! The stock tires looked great on the asphalt and nice at the gravel spot too. Really a good call by Traxxas for all around mixed use. The flat style chassis has such a huge strength advantage over the arched XMaxx 😱. Those huge ramp sends are evidence enough 🚀🚀. I'm stoked with the handling focused large truggy platform 😍. Hell Yeah! That was a wicked maiden run with XRT Bro. Love the Red. The wing mount support is a major weakness I can see. She seems very stable and controllable. 1100kv should wake her up for sure.
Out of the box, You have to watch temps on stock gearing too. The Servo blew in 2 runs, the wing mount was gone. I’ve done almost ALL the m2c upgrades for it (besides chassis brace) have an 800kv Hobbywing and I still favor the K8 EXB. Just as durable, more fun, more controlled and i spent less. The XRT IS fun but not K8 fun.

Since they where short handed, being disabled I went on my weekends to my local hobby shop and helped them repair RC's. They paid me on a gift card and of course the Xmaxx is what they knew I wanted and we helped each other out. So I held onto every penny put on a gift card so I could not touch it till paid off the X-maxx. The part that really gets to me is that I ran on 6s first as I was waiting on the 8s completor pack and it ran fine. As soon as I got the 2x4s batteries, first run found out that they had thrown the 6s tires on the 8s I got and 2 tires came unglued quick. Realizing they were 6s rated, contacted traxxas support and told them about the tires and the sent me 2 new tires. Problem was the tires come in one direction to a pack and I had 1 from each side come apart. So I in good faith bought the other side. 4th run as I was doing a wheelie back to me the front dropped and you could hear the motor spin but no movement. All but 3 teeth combined between the spur and pinion stripped. So called traxxas again and was told they do that just buy more. 🤔 If you know the gears are like the particle board of gears, why not put steel gears in? On the 5th -6th run as it was coming to a rolling stop it would grab and stop, roll it back and forth with my hand and forward it would grab and no wheel movement. Had the local hobby shop look at it and couldn't find the problem as I already checked out the f/r diffs especially when the gears stripped to make sure the teeth didn't get into other parts. Was told to come back if more pronounced. 2 days later brought back as it sounded like a bike with cards in the spokes. So the took out the Center diff only to find out it should not have passed QC because the spider gears were machined wrong and that they usually don't check the center diff because that's very rarely a problem. So it sat at the shop for 5 months waiting on the spider gears, so I decided to order from Cali and they got here before the ones they ordered from Traxxas one state over. They replaced them and when the ones they ordered came In under warranty I have as backups for any reason. 🙏ing nothing goes wrong with it now as it sat pretty much 8months out of the year warranty so not alot of time if something electrical goes out. Also the 2x4s batteries are paper weights now as some how one month after warranty on batteries, fine one day then the next, 1 with 1bad cell and the other had 2 bad cells. I even balance charge, have a cell checker/equalizer and pamper my batteries making sure if not being used in 2-3 days after to store charge. And no signs of wear or damage.? Sorry Just had to share my experience with the Xmaxx and if the XRT was out earlier would have went with it instead. More my type of vehicle. Ya for a $1000 Rc I pretty much only run 6s now since I'm afraid to go back to 8s. At least on the X-maxx. I wondered WHY everyone was changing all the electronics and gears. I wish they were short staffed again so I could work off most of the XRT. ALL THOSE PROBLEMS AND I DON'T SKY BASH. Just racing around and hitting jumps in my yard going no more than 3ft in the air. Fireteam on it's way. Xmaxx on it's way out the door. 🤣🤣

Traxxas owners be like: it’s all stock. I just upgraded the thing, I modded this, I added that. I switched out this. Attached that. Adjusted here. Tweaked there. Changed out that. Swapped out that. But basically it’s all stock.

Be nice if someone could actually come up with a suspension that would actually work instead of slamming a thousand dollar buggy to its death on these jumps. Just blows me away slamming these machines to oblivion doing this . Might as well just pick it up and throw it on the ground as hard as you can and see what breaks.....lame
It's called chassis slap and you want that. You couldn't keep shocks or bulk heads on it without that!😱The shocks definitely lighten the blow then allow for a smooth rebound but in jumping rc's big chassis slap is a must.
I lost two of my xmaxx builds from zeee 9000mah batteries. I’ll never buy those again. Each time was over 800$ in parts gone. I strongly recommend people to stay away from them. I switch to powerhobby and cnhl batteries and I’ve never had an issue since.
Sorry to hear about that!😱I've never had issues (yet)and have ran them for a couple years. Important to always run padding in the trays and maintain the lipos! Yes CNHL makes a great pack too!
@@RCDUDE81 padding was there and they were brand new. Maybe two runs on them. The warrantied the batteries and the first time out on the new batteries one of them went up again. Got a full refund and never looked back. Was unfortunate. I’ve seen lots of other people on fb have the same problem with the 9000mah. Just randomly igniting in flames with normal driving. My first fire I was jumping. Second fire going across a field. These was stock electronics too.
Yep just did same qirh my 800 exb Mojave and blew rear diff tried simply swap with center diff by just changing main gear adding oil while some one talking to me now I'm out 100$ in diffs or alot of time at the least 😀 I'm convinced only the straight cut or swb arrmas only cars that can handle my style bashing I'm going experiments with bigger arrmas but I mat just end up all swb lol
@@paulclancy2404 ya the bigger truggys and monster trucks have better diffs but they go to once you add big motor with a big jump. but like you said you get a lot better luck. if you not crazy it will last. bashing you cant forget traxxas lol. got my xmaxx few months now and once you get the oversize bearing for the back and a d style pinon its great . i am always like i wonder if i can jump over that or ride up and off this. see it fail/fall and laugh because i have no worry's about it braking. looks great too

maybe I missed it, but why did you change out the stock speed control? are there issues with it? I saw one of these at the hobby store two weeks ago and really like this thing.

@@RCDUDE81 lol especially with the Rustler 4x4 and the Hoss. Except the Hoss like to strip the screw from the skidplate. Changed all that when I took the sledgehammers off and put the talons that go to the stampede on. Now it runs like the rustler 4x4 vxl, so tha that when it wheelies it's a solid wheelie instead of the sledgehammers putting so much pressure on the back. And put the sledgehammers on the rustler and a hoss wheelie bar and they hold together just by changing tires and the hoss bar on the rustler really ug stiffened it up and that oval doesnt flex.

Was this all shot on one set of Traxxas gears (spur and pinion)? If so that’s a huge improvement. Xmaxx wouldn’t have made it 5 min
No Hot Racing hardened steel 46 tooth spur but stock 23 pinion. Yeah the stock 46 spur would have melted🤣

I lost two of my xmaxx builds from zeee 9000mah batteries. I’ll never buy those again. Each time was over 800$ in parts gone. I strongly recommend people to stay away from them. I switch to powerhobby and cnhl batteries and I’ve never had an issue since.
Sorry to hear about that!😱I've never had issues (yet)and have ran them for a couple years. Important to always run padding in the trays and maintain the lipos! Yes CNHL makes a great pack too!
@@RCDUDE81 padding was there and they were brand new. Maybe two runs on them. The warrantied the batteries and the first time out on the new batteries one of them went up again. Got a full refund and never looked back. Was unfortunate. I’ve seen lots of other people on fb have the same problem with the 9000mah. Just randomly igniting in flames with normal driving. My first fire I was jumping. Second fire going across a field. These was stock electronics too.

I used wire with screws to help hold down the ESC until I get a proper mount.😎

Yep just did same qirh my 800 exb Mojave and blew rear diff tried simply swap with center diff by just changing main gear adding oil while some one talking to me now I'm out 100$ in diffs or alot of time at the least 😀 I'm convinced only the straight cut or swb arrmas only cars that can handle my style bashing I'm going experiments with bigger arrmas but I mat just end up all swb lol
@@paulclancy2404 ya the bigger truggys and monster trucks have better diffs but they go to once you add big motor with a big jump. but like you said you get a lot better luck. if you not crazy it will last. bashing you cant forget traxxas lol. got my xmaxx few months now and once you get the oversize bearing for the back and a d style pinon its great . i am always like i wonder if i can jump over that or ride up and off this. see it fail/fall and laugh because i have no worry's about it braking. looks great too

Honestly it's no good. Really dumbs down power and isn't easily programmed.

@@RCDUDE81 lol especially with the Rustler 4x4 and the Hoss. Except the Hoss like to strip the screw from the skidplate. Changed all that when I took the sledgehammers off and put the talons that go to the stampede on. Now it runs like the rustler 4x4 vxl, so tha that when it wheelies it's a solid wheelie instead of the sledgehammers putting so much pressure on the back. And put the sledgehammers on the rustler and a hoss wheelie bar and they hold together just by changing tires and the hoss bar on the rustler really ug stiffened it up and that oval doesnt flex.
