I was in Kota in 2007. Trained in Allen. I am now a Hematologist and I do bone marrow transplants. Extremely thankful for what I learnt but everyone has fair share of experiences.
I had extremely bad experience of local people. They would really bring students and family to tears by looting them, with exorbitant charges. Can’t say more of them. Anyone been there wud feel- that poor young students don’t deserve this kind of treatment by people there. As a human being, the least you can do is give love to each other.

Well he isnt wrong with that mindset. This is true that a lot of students who get into IIT or medical aren’t of that calibre. I cannot speak about iit but this is a fact for mbbs. The batches that have come post covid are just upto the mark. And when we see the bigger picture that these guys are gonna be doctors by the end of it, you understand the gravity of the situation. Most of them are forced by their parents to pursue mbbs cz they scored ‘well’ in their 12th board. And this is the mindset that meeds to be changed. Cz when they are at the end of the journey they understand that being a doctor isnt for them. Be it an academic decision or be it just a lifestyle choice. Parents are to be blamed for this and somehow this mindset needs to be changed. The chemistry teacher here sees this future and thus delivered this harsh but true message according to me.

10 years ago, while I was in kota studying for NEET UG, i could only imagine what kota would look like if students stopped coming here for coaching. Hostel authorities loot you in the name of basic survival support and amenities. Coaching institutes put pressure on you as if there's no meaning to life if you don't get a great rank. You are told to isolate yourself and make no friends because they become a distraction. You end up being lonely and pathetic at the cost of performing well in weekly exams. It's good that parents are becoming sensitized and students, better at making life choices.

      We are changing it
But it will take time to Implement big Changes in Diverse, Corrupt, Lack of will to Change the System, etc Country
Reason of Less Students in Kota
      ▶️ Students Sui - cide 💀
▶️ Staying away from Home issues - Quality of Food, Emotional Care, Safety, Friendship, etc
▶️ More Coaching institutes opened in other Cities
▶️ Student should be 16 Years old & 10th Class Passed out Rule of Government
▶️ High Living Expenses - Some Hostels, Coaching Institutes charge too much
▶️ One more Reason could be Some Little bit Effect started of NEP Implementation - Students seeing it as little Hope
Because main issue is 🇬🇧 Education System which creates Fear, Pressure, Toxic Competition between Students which is causing Depression, Sui - cides, Alcohol & Drug Addicts, etc
If NEP implementation keeps going this System will Change from Ground Level in Next 5 - 10 Years
By this Students will be able to choose Subjects on the basis of Capabilities, Choices, Result, etc from 9th Class
I know whole thing will not change in a day
Many Parents still force the Child to do what they think is best but it will change slowly slowly as we see what happens 30 years ago & what is happening now there a huge difference in many areas
So we should keep Educating Society about Capabilities, Choices, Result then Change will Surely happen

The Pratap guy is the height of idiocy. Using words like “caliber”, “deserve”etc. is exactly what’s wrong with Kota and Indian education system. Thinking that only IITs, IIMs, BITS, AIIMS etc. guarantee a good life is totally false. I am the product of one of the finest institutions in the country and have found reasonable success in life. What I have observed is that people who I would work with, many of them would come from not so well known institutions of India. This is the case in India as well as abroad.
Holistic development of the brain is necessary. Being good at Math, Physics, Biology and Chemistry is no guarantee of being a genius especially when it is tested in a limited time frame with a specific set of questions. Most brilliant brains which I have met have had varied backgrounds. India should focus on building character and a holistic mindset and not machines.

IITs have been over-glorified in India because of the lack of good public universities. It also reflects the government's abysmal planning, who see it as a quick fix to impress the public. Ideally, the focus should be only on building world-class universities that cater to a much broader base of students instead of creating 3-4 elite islands of excellence that make entrance exams unnecessarily tough.

It's not just shift other factors are there too
Reason of Less Students in Kota
▶️ Cinema, Social Media showed Dark Side of Education System & Child Suffering

Its just that the karma is returning and now they are sad because they won"t be able to exploit the students money now . Cry more kota people . the atuowalas , the coaching mafias , the general stores ones everything was just overpriced because students were living there . Haircut was normally 70rs in areas where students did not live while for areas like Indravihar and Rajeev Gandhi nagar it was 100rs. hostel owners not willing to pay security , auto walas asking for 100rs for 2km . Man the whole city was fucked up (and I am saying this after I was born and brought up in Delhi and lived in delhi for 15 years )

There are many reasons for this, such as--
    1) Majority of students are switching into online mode of preparation, as they are much affordable also and hassle-free as compared to offline mode.
2)Indian parents are becoming more careful about thier child's mental and physical health. Parents nowadays are interested in another carrer options instead of being doctor and engineer.
    3) News of self-harm and suicidal cases in Kota are well-known to all.
Some, other reasons like food and accommodation qualities, increasing local availability of good quality educational facilities etc. are also a reason of the situation.

Simple logic is that Kota's strongest selling point was that all the big coaching institutes had dummy schools where you did not to attend and attendance lag jaati thi and that way you can give maximum time to your IIT prep. This formula has now been adopted in all the major cities. And also big institutes have their branches all over India. So why would Parents send their small kids to a city where they will eat poorly, live in not so ideal conditions in a PG/Hostel, Have no one for moral/emotional support and have the additional burden of doing household chores and all that!!!???
Doesnt make any sense. Kota model is available everywhere now. Thats why Kota's days as IIT hub are now limited.

Ah, Kota! Three years of intense study, sweat, and the occasional existential crisis.
Back when they were merging AIEEE and IIT into the duo of Mains and Advanced-what a time to be alive!
Sir Mr. Maheshwari, the founder of CP-what a visionary! He says that hostels are too expensive and suggests the
lovely folks of Kota should adopt these kids like stray cats. Idea hai sirji:
"Hey, Mrs. Sharma, can you raise my kid to be an IITian? And while you’re at it, maybe throw in some life skills? Thanks!"
Rich coming from someone who runs a coaching institute that charges an arm and a leg?
Pratap-bless his heart-talking about "caliber" and "deserving."
Sir your job is to teach us type"chitty chitty bang bang" in GTA so that my car can fly.
Sure, there's some truth there. But let’s be real:
It shouldn’t just be about cracking the code to get into IIT like it’s a cheat code in a video game!
It should be about genuinely loving these subjects, not treating them like a ticket to ride.
"Let’s make education affordable!" he says, while raking in the cash like it's a game show. Hypocrisy much? It’s like asking the wolves to babysit the sheep!
After all this Kota chaos, you pretty much fall into one of three categories:
The Lucky One: You waltz into a good college because your daddy’s got that cash flow.
You breezed through 11th and 12th while the rest of us were losing our sanity, and now you’re just coasting on that privilege like it’s a free ride at an amusement park. 🎢
The IIT Superstar: You crack it, and suddenly you’re strutting around with that IIT badge like it’s a golden ticket. |
Some are already at the summit, living the dream, while others are still trying to climb that mountain with a mix of hope and sheer desperation.
Spoiler alert: sometimes luck just doesn’t give a damn! ⛰
The Reality Check: Daddy ain’t rich, and you didn’t crack the government college entrance.
Congrats, my friend-you’re in for a wild ride! GOOD LUCK to you, bahut mazaa aane wala hai apko.😈
