He needed to go straigt to rehab and clean the fuck up...What a shame it was at the end of the kiss tour here in OZ. He really is the sound of KISS and a great player for his time. Ace was good friends with both Erics - I think that a new member coming in and treating him with respect and even fandom made him more comfortable, as Gene and Paul were always putting him and Peter down. Peter says that Ace often opened up on how Paul and Gene made him feel inadequate. Anyway, I think Ace himself said in his book that he felt very good when they were touring with Eric Singer.
ace sounded and played really clean in the japanese and australian leg of the tour. like as in not drunk or anything, if you watch concert video (The Last Kiss) from NJ, he looks, plays and sounds horrible. im just as big of a ace fan as anyone, its the sad truth unfortunately, like gene says, the demon that rock n roll will always have
